Upon arrival, check-in at reception was smooth. We were provided with our room key and directed to our accommodation, which required us to drive to the other side of the estate. However, when we reached the room, the key did not work. We walked back to reception, where we were informed that a network issue had prevented the key from being properly programmed. The receptionist, who was very helpful, offered to accompany us to the room and opened it using a master key. She assured us that a functioning key would be delivered as soon as the network was restored. Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed that it had not been cleaned. The window sill was sticky with what appeared to be beverage spills, the floor was dirty, the bathroom mats were not fresh, and most concerning, there were rat droppings on the window sill, on the floor behind the curtains, and behind the door. I contacted reception to request housekeeping and asked to speak with a manager, as the condition of the room was unacceptable. A housekeeping staff member arrived, but I requested that cleaning not proceed until the housekeeping manager assessed the situation. The manager quickly confirmed that the room had indeed not been cleaned and that there were clear signs of rodent activity. She apologised sincerely, asked us to wait while the room was cleaned, and said she would escalate the matter to the rooms division. While waiting on the terrace outside, we noticed a mouse in the bushes, which explained the droppings found inside. After the room was cleaned, the manager returned, apologised again, and informed us that a complimentary bottle of wine had been arranged for us. We told her about the mouse we had seen and expressed that we did not feel comfortable staying in that room. She went back to speak with the rooms division, and we waited in the bar. An hour later, she returned with keys to a new room and directed us there. The replacement room was clean, though the entire experience made for a rocky start to our stay. The following day, after breakfast, we returned to our room to find that the terrace doors had been removed and two maintenance staff were working. This came as an unexpected surprise, as no one had informed us that repairs would be taking place. We decided to return to the bar to allow the work to be completed. As we were celebrating a birthday that day, the housekeeping manager kindly arranged for our room to be decorated with a birthday message. From that point onward, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to the exceptional customer service at the restaurants, bars, and spa. In particular, we would like to recognise Moses, Regal, and Tebogo at Kingsley Restaurant; Sibongile at Granatas; and Mandy at the spa for their outstanding hospitality. They truly made our stay memorable. Overall, despite the challenges we experienced upon arrival, we had a lovely stay. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making my mother’s birthday special.

Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It is perfect for a short layover in Johannesburg or a night before an early morning flight. Shuttle bus to and from the airport are frequent and convenient (running at 30-minute intervals and generally on time). There are other airport hotels which may be closer to the airport and all shuttle buses run from the same bus terminal. This bus takes around 7-8 minutes to reach the hotel from the bus terminal. Room amenities are abundant, and the water kettle is kept reasonably clean. Hotel gym is well-maintained and a good place to work out before long flights. Staff are professional and friendly.

The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and conveniently located just a few minutes from the airport, making it the perfect choice before or after a flight. My room was spacious, spotless, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were welcoming, professional, and made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. One of the highlights of my stay was the food. I ordered room service several times and every meal was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. I was impressed by the variety on the menu—whether I wanted a hearty dinner, a healthy breakfast, fresh fruit, yogurt and granola, desserts, or hot beverages, there was something for every craving. The quality exceeded my expectations, and I loved the convenience of ordering directly from the QR code menu in the room. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my stay. Great service, comfortable rooms, excellent food, and an unbeatable location near O.R. Tambo International Airport. I highly recommend Southern Sun to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Johannesburg. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great hotel! We were very well received by the staff, and the check-in and check-out process was super fast. The main highlight is the free round-trip airport shuttle. For those looking for practicality and who don't want to worry about transportation, it's the perfect choice. I highly recommend it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful, spacious and perfect for a relaxing stay I had such a lovely stay at Weston Guest House Krugersdorp. The property is in Noordheuwel, Krugersdorp, and the whole place has such a peaceful, private atmosphere. My room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I especially loved the bedroom and the big comfortable bed, but the highlight for me was definitely the spa bath/Jacuzzi. 😍 It made the stay feel like a proper little getaway rather than just somewhere to sleep. I also loved how much space I had. There was a separate living area with a large TV and comfortable seating, a dining/work area, and a proper kitchen with a large fridge, microwave, stove, kettle, toaster and plenty of cupboard space. If you’re staying for a few days and don’t want to eat out all the time, having a full kitchen makes such a difference. The room gets beautiful natural light, and I loved sitting by the large windows in the morning. The property itself is in a quiet area and is known for its views, which adds to that peaceful, away-from-everything feeling. Everything felt comfortable and homely while still giving that romantic getaway feeling. There’s also free Wi-Fi and private parking, and the guest house has a pool and other facilities on the property. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Weston Guest House and would definitely stay here again. I’d especially recommend it for couples, a relaxing weekend away, or even a solo stay when you just want somewhere peaceful, spacious and comfortable. ⭐️ 5/5 — and that Jacuzzi was definitely my favourite part! 🛁😍

I had an outstanding stay at The Catalyst Hotel in Sandton. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and effortless. The attention to detail throughout the hotel is impressive, creating a luxurious yet comfortable atmosphere. One of the biggest highlights is the hotel’s excellent location. It’s conveniently situated close to Sandton City, Nelson Mandela Square, and the Gautrain, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travellers. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and every meal I had at the restaurant was of excellent quality. The facilities, including the gym, pool, and spa, are well maintained and add tremendous value to the overall experience. What truly sets The Catalyst apart is the exceptional customer service. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, always greeting guests with a smile and a willingness to help. If you’re looking for a modern, comfortable, and well-located hotel in Johannesburg, I highly recommend The Catalyst Hotel. Great location, delicious breakfast, and a free shuttle to the nearby shopping mall on Nelson Mandela Square. The rooms were clean, and overall, I really enjoyed my stay.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the station, literally a 5-minute walk away. The grounds are large and secure. The restaurant near reception is very pleasant with decent food, though the wait was excessively long. We waited almost an hour for a burger... Otherwise, the room has everything you need, including dishes. A hairdryer is available upon request. The soundproofing isn't great, but luckily our neighbors weren't noisy. Breakfast was a bit repetitive but very tasty. The potatoes at Pablo's restaurant were particularly impressive.

The hotel is clean, comfortable, and convenient for an overnight stay before or after a flight. Pros: * Very clean rooms and common areas. * Convenient location close to the airport. * Friendly and professional staff. * Comfortable beds for a good night’s sleep. Cons: * There are stairs in some sections of the hotel, which made it quite difficult to move around with heavy luggage. * There was a noticeable noise coming from the air conditioner during the night. * Guests are still required to fill out a paper check-in form, which feels outdated since most of that information has already been provided when booking online. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. Despite a few inconveniences, it’s a comfortable and practical choice for travelers needing accommodation near Johannesburg Airport. I would stay here again, especially for the convenience before an early flight.

I had a very pleasant stay at Hyatt House Sandton. The hotel is calm, safe, and in a good location, with easy Uber access to Nelson Mandela Square and Rosebank Mall. The staff were excellent and very welcoming. They allowed me to check in early before the official time, and on my birthday evening I returned to my room to find a surprise birthday cake waiting for me. Such a thoughtful gesture. Breakfast was good, but remember to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Overall, a comfortable stay and I would definitely come back again.
