Hot Springs Hotels in Jilin, China

This time we visited the north slope of Changbai Mountain. Staying in Erdaobaihe is convenient for shopping (it's too cold outdoors) but not ideal for mountain access. So, we opted for the DoubleTree (a bit pricey for the value). It's located less than 2km from the north slope entrance. The VIP pass provided upon check-in means we're not restricted by the park's entry times. There's a shuttle from the hotel to the park gate, you just need to register at the concierge desk after checking in – very convenient. Reviews usually start with the positives before the negatives. **Praises:** 1. The lady who checked me in (forgot to check her name tag) had an excellent and appropriately enthusiastic service level. She explained everything clearly. 2. The hotel breakfast was great, with a good selection of both Chinese and Western options. There were plenty of choices, two coffee machines, and even ice available. 3. I stayed on the top floor, and my balcony faced east, offering beautiful sunrise views. 4. The hotel environment is fantastic, nestled in the woods. The scenery after a winter snowfall is stunning, giving it a jungle cabin vibe. **Areas for Improvement:** 1. Two days before check-in, the hotel contacted me to ask if I needed butler service. This is a great initiative, but the young lady who called sounded very reluctant, almost like she didn't want to make the call. Either it's a staffing issue or a training one. 2. The hotel isn't old, but the shower drain had a pretty strong odor, especially when dry. It improved after showering for a while and the water flushed it, but the next morning the smell was quite noticeable again. 3. I don't understand why the hot spring building is separate from the main hotel. You have to walk outdoors to get to it. While it can't be changed now, this design feels a bit inconvenient and poorly thought out.

Staying at this hotel with my child during the National Day holiday perfectly met my need to 'escape the hustle and bustle'! It's not a traditional hotel building; instead, 32 independent structures are spread throughout the park. The lobby, the Cidu all-day dining restaurant, and the swimming pool are all in the main building. We stayed in a Superior Landscape Twin Room in Building 7, which was accessible by shuttle bus. The room was spacious and clean. The new Chinese style was elegant and charming, making for a truly relaxing stay. A short walk from the hotel takes you to the wetland lake, where you can watch black swans glide by – much more pleasant than battling crowds at city attractions. Service highlights: 1. The front desk staff were warm and efficient with check-in and check-out, patiently answering all our questions. 2. Chen Xin, a staff member in the breakfast restaurant, was exceptionally thoughtful: my child had just turned 1.4 meters, which meant he met the criteria for breakfast charges. Unexpectedly, Chen Xin proactively offered, 'Please enjoy your meal, and I'll either give you a discount or waive the charge when you leave.' This simple gesture deeply touched us and showcased the hotel's flexibility and goodwill. 3. Room service was prompt; any requests (like extra amenities or ice) were quickly handled, and the service was polite and thorough. 4. Staff in other roles (such as housekeeping and security) were also very courteous, greeting us proactively. When they saw us with our child and luggage, they even offered a helping hand. The only downside was the behavior of a few guests – in the breakfast restaurant, there were often large amounts of leftover food piled on tables and napkins thrown on the floor. In the swimming pool changing room, despite clearly marked bins for towels and trash, some people still left used towels and clutter everywhere. While we constantly saw staff cleaning, the sheer number of guests during the National Day holiday sometimes made it hard for them to keep up. I sincerely urge guests to be more considerate of public areas.

The facilities, cleanliness, ambiance, and service were all superb. Its proximity to Dinosaur Kingdom and Folk Park was a major plus. However, there were a few significant drawbacks: 1. The hotel's layout is incredibly sprawling; it was an extremely long walk to our room. Getting to and from the room felt like an endless trek every single time. 2. The front desk was noticeably understaffed. The attendant checking us in had to repeatedly stop to answer multiple phone calls, making the check-in process incredibly drawn out. 3. To my dismay, the hotel's swimming pool was closed for maintenance. I'm unsure if this was just bad luck or if it's perpetually under repair, but it instantly negated a key reason for choosing this hotel. 4. A quick rant about Yanji Dinosaur Kingdom: The entrance fee offers terrible value for money. For over 200 yuan, there was surprisingly little to do. We had planned for a full day, but we were done in half a day – it was utterly boring. The only truly appealing attraction, the 7D cinema, was also closed for maintenance. What a joke! Despite being marketed as one 'Dinosaur Kingdom' complex, accessing the hot springs, Happy Water World, and performances all required additional payment. A family of four could easily spend well over 2,000 yuan for a single visit. I definitely won't be returning.

This guesthouse is genuinely great. It has a front desk and a butler service, and the decor is very stylish and comfortable. It solved our problem of finding accommodation for five people, as it has two bathrooms, which is very flexible. There are also hot springs to soak in, offering good value for money. I do have two suggestions for improvement: the butler service is advertised as 24-hour, but when I messaged them around 7 AM, I didn't get a reply. Calling the front desk, I was told they hadn't started work yet, which was a bit disappointing. Also, the hot spring water isn't available until 1 PM; it would be perfect if it were available in the morning too.

## Ambiance The environment was excellent, and the room was quite spacious. ## Facilities Facilities were generally good, but a notable oversight for a hot spring hotel was the absence of a drying rack for swimsuits. After a dip and washing your swimwear, there was nowhere convenient to hang it to dry. ## Cleanliness Very good. ## Service A significant point of frustration arose with the hot spring policy. My booking confirmation did not explicitly state that hot spring access is limited to one entry per person per day. When I inquired, the hot spring area manager informed me this was the hotel's default rule. I found this completely unreasonable, and it severely detracted from my overall experience. Had such a crucial restriction been clearly communicated upfront during booking, guests would not have been caught off guard. I strongly recommend the hotel clearly outlines its hot spring usage guidelines.

Due to a change in our itinerary, we booked a hotel on short notice. Upon check-in, we found it far exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and tidy, the service staff was very professional, and a heartwarming incident occurred. After checking out, I was over 100 kilometers away from the hotel when I realized I had left my wallet in the room. After contacting the hotel, the staff immediately helped me find my wallet. Because cash can't be delivered by express, the waiter put the money in my card and transferred it to me via WeChat. They were very patient throughout the process, and the problem was quickly resolved. It's inevitable that there will be omissions when you're away from home, but it's very touching to meet such people! A big thumbs up to the hotel staff 👍🏻

For our ski trip to Changbai Mountain this time, we chose the Jinhua Resort Hotel. A few days before our check-in, Comrade Xiao Xu from the Executive Lounge proactively contacted us, providing all sorts of information and promptly answering our many questions. They even thoughtfully provided hand warmers – the service was excellent! The room had enough space for the kids to play. Although it's not a brand-new hotel, the overall environment is very clean. The cleaning staff were also very considerate, providing extra amenities for the children. The breakfast environment at the Executive Lounge was fantastic; in the morning, we could even watch the hot air balloons being set up, which the kids absolutely loved. They even said they want to stay here again next year for skiing!

My stay at Holike Hotel Changbai Mountain was incredibly satisfying! The hotel is located in the heart of the Huamei Shengdi Resort, with the commercial street just a short walk away, making dining and shopping very convenient. Excellent environment and service: The hotel boasts a Swiss-style design, with an elegant environment and fresh air. The front desk staff were warm, attentive, and responsive, always quick to resolve any issues. Comfortable room experience: The room was very spacious, well-equipped, and relatively new. The bedding was high-standard and comfortable, and thoughtful amenities like a washing machine and humidifier were provided. During winter, the underfloor heating kept the room warm and cozy. Rich activities and dining: The included activities were fantastic, such as hot springs, UTV rides, and archery. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, combining Chinese and Western dishes, along with local specialties, all of which tasted great. Overall, this was an excellent value-for-money vacation experience, especially suitable for families and travelers seeking convenience and comfort.

This trip to Changbai Mountain was full of surprises! I didn't expect to find such a wonderful guesthouse here. The car that picked me up from the high-speed rail station was an Audi A8. The guesthouse is located in the center of the town, making it convenient to go anywhere, and it's quite close to the airport and the high-speed rail station. The guesthouse has a large courtyard, and the rooms are very clean and of a high standard! The food at the guesthouse is quite good, especially the breakfast, which is very exquisite. The butler service is also excellent! It truly lives up to its five-star rating! It was really great! I will definitely stay here again next year! The only regret is that I wanted to switch to a lake-view cabin, but they were full and I couldn't change. The view was so beautiful, so dreamy, I must stay here next time.

Our stay at the Crowne Plaza was a delightful experience. Although we couldn't visit Changbai Mountain due to the weather, the hotel's hot springs and ambiance were definite highlights. The hotel service was professional, from the shuttle and front desk to the guest rooms, hot spring pools, and restaurant, all were friendly, attentive, and well-organized. Special thanks to the butler who promptly provided information and resolved issues, which was a great help. We'll definitely be back for another vacation with our family.
