TThanpizGreat price! The room wasn't too small, and it's conveniently located near the train, making travel easy. The staff were always helpful, and you can even reach out to them via email for inquiries.

PPiaoliangdehadaThe guesthouse's location is incredibly convenient. It's a 30-minute ride on the Nankai Airport Line to Tengachaya Station, followed by a straightforward 30-minute walk. Alternatively, the Yotsubashi Line's Hanazonocho Station is even closer, just under a 5-minute walk across the road and along Hanazonocho Hondori, offering direct access to Namba and Shinsaibashi. There's also Shin-Imamiya JR Station, which is a bit further, about 1.2 km or a 15-minute walk. Check-in was a breeze; upon arrival, you simply collect your keys from the mailbox in the room to the right of the main entrance. Daily trash disposal is easy – just take your rubbish downstairs to the large bin located to the left inside the gated area. The lobby provides handy supplies like trash bags, fresh towels, and toothbrushes. Room amenities are excellent and the space is ample, which is a big advantage of guesthouses over hotels. There's a microwave, pots, pans, and dishes, so you can buy groceries and prepare simple meals. A washing machine with detergent and a drying rack on the balcony are also provided. Before booking, I was quite concerned about the noise issues mentioned in other reviews, and I was a bit apprehensive before my trip. I was assigned a third-floor room not facing the train line, and while it was a lower floor, I had read reviews saying rooms on the opposite side were also noisy. However, my personal experience was that there was no sound at all. Even when trains passed, the noise wasn't significant, unless you're an extremely light sleeper who needs absolute quiet. Personally, I don't see it as an issue. For those like us, staying in a room on the opposite side, we didn't hear any track noise at all. Plus, the hotel offers direct views of Abeno Harukas and Tsutenkaku, both about a 30-minute walk away. I even went up to the 9th floor to catch the sunset. Overall, this guesthouse offers great value for money. While it's true there are some homeless people in the area to the right, it still feels very safe and doesn't affect your travel plans. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Osaka.

GGuest UserCheck-in was a breeze, and the instructions were super clear! The facilities are excellent, and I especially appreciated the clothes drying rack and the washing machine with a QR code for instructions – very thoughtful. The room overall was spotless, but the toothbrushes provided weren't the best quality. I'd suggest adding a small trash can in the bathroom for disposing of toothbrushes and toothpaste. Oh, and the toast and cake at the nearby cafe were delicious!

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very quiet location near a school, but there was absolutely no noise. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the facilities were complete. The only minor issue was that checking in and getting the key at the lobby door was a bit difficult upon arrival. It took quite some time to finally get in.

GGuest UserI had a good experience, although because I am tall I felt like a dwarf in my private room. View was into the the wall of the other building, tiny space for cooking and keeping my meals cold or frozen. The room included two bar chairs which were quite small and one needs to stretch himself after some time. Bed was spacious enough for my needs. The staff were very lovely and the communication with the property was very easy. Because it is open, it is easy to occasionally smell cigarettes when someone smoking outside. The noise level is acceptable considering it is next to the main street, but people do not make loud noises, luckily. Only when a car or a bike passes by. Shared microwave in the hallway is perfectly functional and very easy to use. Laundromat is directly on the opposite side and very easy to use. If you are craving for something, there is a Lawson convenience store on the corner of the street.

GGuest UserVery impressed: A Wonderful Stay – Exceeded Expectations! We were very impressed with our stay at this hotel in Japan. Although it’s an unmanned, room-only hotel with self check-in starting at 4 PM, our experience went far beyond our expectations. We arrived early with a large amount of luggage—five large suitcases and four smaller bags—and hoped to just drop them off before check-in. Fortunately, we met a hotel worker, who we believe was a housekeeper. She was incredibly kind and helpful. She immediately contacted a hotel staff member and kindly offered to take care of all our luggage, bringing it up to our room after it had been cleaned. She also explained the self check-in procedures and how to access the building, which was very helpful since there are no staff members normally present. We didn’t expect that level of support at all—it was clearly not part of her job, but she helped us willingly and with such a great attitude. We’re very grateful for her kindness. The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location was fantastic—close to various train lines (railway, subway, and local), duty-free shops, convenience stores, and many other attractions. Highly recommended! We’d definitely stay here again.

SShirley LMPWe had a pleasant 1-night stay in Osaka as a family of 4. The room was clean and equipped with 2 double beds, with enough space for all of us to stay comfortably. The location was convenient, and the check-in process was smooth despite there being no on-site lobby staff, remote assistance was available, and the instructions provided at the lobby were clear and easy to follow. Overall, a clean, comfortable, and hassle-free stay.

ZZithounProjectJa Hotel Shinfukae: Review Summary • Cleanliness: The property is exceptionally clean and well-maintained (”neat”), which is a major plus for any traveler. • Location: Excellent proximity to the local metro station, making it very convenient for exploring Osaka's main districts like Namba or Umeda. Important Logistics to Keep in Mind There are two specific operational details that travelers should be prepared for: • Check-in Time: Standard check-in starts at 4:00 PM. This is slightly later than some traditional hotels, so plan your arrival accordingly if you have heavy luggage. • Digital Check-in: The process is entirely online. Make sure you have a charged smartphone and internet access (or the check-in details saved offline) before you arrive at the property. Pro-Tips for Shinfukae 1. Early Arrival: Since the check-in is digital and at 4:00 PM, check if the hotel offers a luggage drop-off area. If not, the nearby metro station likely has coin lockers where you can store your bags while you grab a bite nearby. 2. The Local Area: Shinfukae is a more residential, quiet part of Osaka. It’s a great place to experience a ”local” vibe away from the neon lights of Dotonbori, with some authentic izakayas tucked away in the side streets. 3. Transit: From Shinfukae Station (Sennichimae Line), you are only a few stops away from Tsuruhashi, which is famous for its vibrant Korean market and incredible yakiniku (BBQ).

GGuest UserTop location for the price if you are planning Expo 2025 visits - the apartments is 10 mins walk from the station in a quite residential neighborhood and 3 stops away from Yumeshima station where the event is held. Nearby you can find both supermarkets and convenience stores as well as nice local restaurants and cafes, including a not so crowded Kura Sushi. The apartment is tiny and not very convenient if you’re not used to confined spaces, but it’s still functional. The conditioner, washing machine, tv and other appliances were working properly. The bed however wasn’t very comfortable since the mattress was a bit outdated and sagging in the middle. It is also worth keeping in mind that the walls are paper thin and you could hear basically everything your neighbors are doing. And the neighbors probably might hear you too if you are not quite enough. Generally it is a typical low-budget Japanese apartment in a residential neighborhood, which might be a nice experience if you’re coming as a tourist and would like to experience a token of local lifestyle.
