Dinner and breakfast were excellent, exceeding our expectations. The ingredients were very fresh, and the vegetables and fruits were replenished promptly and tasted exceptionally good. The hotel offers both indoor and outdoor hot springs. While they were nice, I didn't feel their full benefit in summer, but I'm confident they would be a major highlight in winter. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a bus stop.

Omakase meal is provided for both dinner and breakfast. Seafood quality and food taste are great. The hotel provides fresh mountain cold water that comes from its spring in Asahidake onsen. The hotel has nice lounge which gives a cozy experience after eating a meal.

It's not terrible, but I wouldn't really consider it a 'value for money' hotel. I felt that the service and facilities didn't quite justify the price. The hairdryers in the public bath were so outdated that it took forever to dry my hair. When I asked for extra towels, they responded that 'not too many' were allowed, which was the first time I've encountered an onsen hotel being so stingy with their towels. For context, I've stayed at dozens of Japanese onsen hotels. I only used the onsen in the mornings and evenings, and at most, I asked for one extra towel per night – not dozens of times. So, their reluctant response felt quite stingy. By the way, this was the female staff member who assisted me on my check-in day. The next day, a male staff member readily provided a towel when I asked.
The food was delicious. However, for guests staying multiple consecutive nights, it would have been nice to have at least slightly different menu options each day. Having the exact same dishes for two consecutive days was a bit disappointing.
Would I go back? No. This isn't a place I'd visit a second time.
The onsen hot spring water itself was authentically excellent.
Also, some Japanese individuals tend to use casual speech ('banmal') when foreigners speak Japanese. However, hotels, being in the hospitality industry, typically avoid this. Yet, the staff here spoke to me in banmal. Normally, one would expect gratitude when a foreigner makes the effort to speak the local language, but to be addressed informally ('banmal')? Honestly, I found it quite upsetting. I've never experienced this at any other onsen hotel. While I can somewhat understand if it's a random passerby, for hotel staff in the hospitality business to use 'banmal' with a guest is simply unacceptable!

The hotel's proximity to Shirahige Waterfall was excellent. We particularly appreciated the evening shuttle bus service they provided to Aoiike (Blue Pond), which made our trip incredibly convenient and enjoyable. Both breakfast and dinner were also delicious!

The hotel was just okay. The onsen was not clean, and I’d rate the overall experience 5/10.
You need to request shower amenities before entering your room—something I didn’t know, so I had to go back down to get them before showering.
I also found a small worm in the bedsheets. However, the location is excellent.
The hotel seems very nice online or I just took great photos I’m not sure.

The hotel, while a bit older, is exceptionally well-maintained. The hot spring water was so good that I made sure to visit twice, once in the morning and once in the evening. For our trip with four adults, both breakfast and dinner were included and served buffet-style; the meals were outstanding. At dinner, they served steak that was incredibly tender and delicious, whether we ate it plain or turned it into a 'stekidon' (steak rice bowl). The tuna and salmon sashimi were also exceptionally fresh and tasty; the thickly-sliced tuna, in particular, seemed like fresh, raw tuna. We were truly satisfied with both the meals and the accommodation. This was the highlight of our entire trip. Even though the facilities were a bit dated, everything else was perfectly satisfying. My only regret is not having more photos to share!

I came with my family. It seems like a family oriented hotel - buffet menu and nothing to do in the hotel.
The room had a gas heater which wasn’t very suitable for such a small room that we had to leave the window slightly open and run the air purifier on high all night.
The staff were okay just doing their job but nobody spoke a single word of English. It took us extra 15 minutes wandering around the hotel as the google map location was not accurate.
I very much liked the onsen amenities! They were great - head to toe care amenities.
But its close location to Biei and the lake make up.
I don’t think I’ll come back but for the very cheap price, you get what you pay for. Lesson very much learned!

Amazing ryokan. Perfect location just a stone throw away from Shirahige Waterfall. The Japanese tatami room was clean and spacious. The best is their onsen - both indoor and outdoor, with superb winter view. We love the food too! Will come back.
