"I had a very pleasant stay. The location is excellent just a short walk from the train station and within easy reach of the city centre and riverside areas. The hostel was clean, well organised, and felt safe throughout my stay. My room was simple but comfortable, with clean bedding and sufficient storage space. The shared bathrooms were well maintained and regularly cleaned. The staff were friendly, professional, and happy to help with directions and local tips, which made settling in very easy. I also appreciated the communal areas, which were relaxed and suitable for catch up with other travellers or just unwinding after a day of sightseeing. Overall, this hostel offers very good value for money and is a great choice for budget-conscious travellers visiting the city."

"The TV was on when we entered the room, so we didn't realize the power button on the remote was broken, and the TV itself had no buttons. We ended up staring at a glowing TV at 2 AM and had no choice but to call the front desk. The front desk staff's attitude wasn't great, and they didn't even apologize. The air conditioning in the entire building was broken, and the front desk chose not to inform us in advance, even acting self-righteous when we called. There were wasps in the room before we opened the window. We couldn't open the gym door with our room key and had to ask the front desk for access. Overall, I'd say you'd probably have a better stay asking on Xiaohongshu if you could rent a student dorm at the nearby Girton College."

"Having looked at the menu on line and, knowing the reputation of Rob, the chef, we booked for Sunday lunch with some friends visiting from Amsterdam. The service was exceptional from beginning to end. The menu was interesting and offered a wide range. We chose the smoked halibut and the cantaloupe melon with goat's curd followed by grilled tuna, roast lamb, Black Bull burger and cauliflower steak. The execution of all the dishes was superb and we all enjoyed the food enormously. The choice of draught beers was great as was the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc by the glass. We hope to return."

"This accommodation was excellent. for us.It was situated in a tiny village with only one local pub, which was ideal for us. Cambridge is only 10miles away. The host was very friendly and welcoming. The Lodge was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. A nice touch was a plate of fairy cakes and a jar of cookies to welcome you. There was also a jug of milk in the fridge. The bed was sublime. Extremely soft and comfortable. I normally only manage 3-4 hours sleep daily, but on our two night stay i slept right through both nights. Breakfast was a full English delivered to our door, and it was delicious. I can't recommend this place and it's host highly enough. If I'm visiting the area again Thorn House will definitely be my first choice."

Cooked breakfast was of a good quality, although the continental breakfast was a bit minimalist. Car parking was plentiful and was easy to access from the main road although you had to drive down a narrow road around a field to get to the hotel. The Hole in the Wall
"This is our second visit to The Hole in the Wall Pub. Visited last month and had a great meal. We decided to come again to see if the standard was the same. It was! Plus, it was the new Autumn Menu, so the three of us had different dishes to choose from. We ate in the snug for both meals, which had a friendly, cosy feel to it that added to the occasion. We were welcomed by a member of the staff, who remembered us from last time, which was a nice touch. Staff were very attentive and provided everything we ordered to a high standard, both the food and the presentation. Ordered slow braised Gressingham duck leg confit, Chef Special braised short rib beef, and I had the homemade lamb curry, pilaf rice, mango chutney, poppadum, and onion bhaji. We were all pleasantly full, had a few minutes rest before I ate the homemade treacle tart and ice cream. Chef came and chatted, and was pleased to see we had come a second time to taste his food. Food so good we have booked a Sunday Lunch later this month."
