"The hotel is well located, however, it's too noisy; you can hear the music from the bar next door from the rooms, which isn't ideal for sleeping. The rooms are very old and the shower is terrible. Breakfast is decent, only the coffee is awful (even though there's good coffee in the area). The neighborhood is very lively and the beach is incredible and nearby. The pools are nice, but the gym is too small."

"I'll always give this tiny NYX hotel a shout-out!!! This is my fourth trip to Cancun and I've discovered a gem of an all-inclusive hotel! I just had to take the time to write a rave review on Xiaohongshu. I only booked this hotel because I wanted to relax in Cancun for a couple of days during the May Day holiday. Compared to the Riu Palace Kukulcan I stayed at last year, it was more than half the price – an absolute steal! 🥹 Located in the middle of the 7-star hotel district in Cancun, it's a 10-minute walk from the Riu Palace Kukulcan and shares almost the same sea view. So, the scenery is practically identical. The all-inclusive Japanese and Italian restaurants are surprisingly good. A three-night stay includes one Japanese meal and one Italian meal, while a five-night or longer stay includes teppanyaki. The breakfast and dinner buffets have a limited selection, but they're decent. The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the incredibly high value makes it negligible. Some buildings have stairs, but we were put in building 7 with elevators. The minibar in the room only had bottled water, but they replenished it with drinks and beer the next day. Since the room rate was low, we didn't expect too much. This hotel has a unique and distinctive style. Unlike other hotels with many floors, the architecture is exquisite and makes for great photos. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and friendly, especially after we tipped them. They offered us fruit tea as soon as we checked in. The receptionist, knowing we had recently gotten our marriage certificate, arranged a small honeymoon celebration with champagne and dessert – a perfect score! The hotel doesn't offer many activities. There's poolside aerobics in the morning and karaoke in the evening, but since we weren't particularly interested in those, it didn't bother us. I really hope this wonderful hotel gets noticed by others. I might not come back, but I highly recommend it to anyone with a budget and modest expectations! 🥰🥰🥰"

"If I could give it a double zero I would. Do not recommend this place to anyone who wants to get charged for patched repair door job. The bathroom door was stuck to open then a piece of the door broke off. 1,800 pesos charge. Even though I explained to them that it looked like a hacked up repair job they still charged me that fee to be able to check out. This is the worst hotel that rips people off. Also I truly believe that their hand soap is also their shampoo and body wash. Found roaches and the drain was clogged and Couldn’t flush the toilet."

"Great location! Great sink! Great balcony! However, I will list the downsides. The shower water kept switching between cold and hot, so I had to stop several times while showering. Even worse, the water came out in tiny trickles, making showering a very unpleasant experience. The full-option facilities—microwave, kettle, induction cooktop, pots, refrigerator, etc.—were good, but the showerheads definitely need to be replaced to ensure good water pressure so guests can shower without inconvenience. I had to go to the airport, but the elevator was broken, so I had to rush down the stairs. The Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby on the first floor and not in the guest rooms, so I had to use my phone once I got to the first floor. As you can see in the photos, the blackout curtains didn't function as blackout curtains at all, so I had to sleep in a room where the sunlight streamed in brightly like that. I booked room 703, but the view was blocked by a wall on the left balcony. It would be better to get a room with a view toward Coco Bongo. My room was at the end of the hallway, and the view was obstructed by a pillar on the left side of the balcony."

Upgrade to vantage club for premium drinks but there are some premium spirits also offered to other guests. We fell unwell and they looked after us well and I couldn’t fault them. Location you cannot walk anywhere with the crocodile risk and being quite far from the main road. Snacks like nuts, crisps would be great if this was offered. Or maybe a shuttle to the main road."

"From existing reviews it may be hard to gather a good overview of this property. Our recent stay was our second in 2 years. We have found this property perfect for families with kids 12 and under. The sugar sand is protected by off shore reefs and somewhat of a natural cove, thusly waved breaking at the beach are non existent. Little ones can wade many meters into the the calm ocean. Similarly, the main pool has a beach like entry (0 depth) perfect for new swimmers. Location is near major shopping areas and is an easy, safe walk to Isla Mujueres ferry terminal. Food is similar to the many other all inclusive we have frequented. All though somewhat difficult to secure the reservation required sit down restaurants where all beautifully appointed. The newer sit down (for lunch) beach club restaurant was perfect yet underutilized. The hotel lobby is very attractive, however the rooms themselves are in need to a full soft goods refit. Our room this year, though remarkably clean and plenty of wear evident on the furniture. Overall a fantastic value!"

"I didn't like the stay from the very beginning: an hour's delay in checking in, rude behavior of the reception staff, unwillingness to help or spend the delay in comfort. The keys to the room (one of two per room) did not work for 24 hours; the staff were unable to solve the problem and constantly re-registered the entry to the room from one key to the other. Both keys did not work at the same time. I liked the food, but not varied, for a few days of stay I consider it good, but if you stay for a week or more - I do not recommend it. The drinks in the central bar are good. Thanks to the employee Gustav for helping with the check-in, I can't say the same about others. The shower was broken - water flowed in a powerful stream from the mixer (room 202) The hotel is not worth the money, if there is an alternative - it is better to take another one."

The hotel also offers great value for the price, which was a big plus. Although we are not very used to Mexican food, we still found the dining experience decent. Overall, this was a pleasant and safe place to stay, and we would definitely consider coming back in the future. We will also recommend this hotel to our friends."

"Upon check-in at 1 PM, the hotel initially tried to fob us off with a subpar room on the second floor. We had to wait until 3 PM to finally get a room on the sixth floor, only to find the entire floor under renovation with construction workers and materials filling the corridors. This was truly embarrassing for an InterContinental property. When we tried to change to a lagoon-facing room, several front desk staff members shirked responsibility and passed the buck. It took another hour for the lobby manager to finally offer us a spare room on the fourth floor. This hotel is riddled with issues and constant hassles. I strongly recommend avoiding it!"
