Holiday Inn - the niu, COBBLES ESSEN by IHG
"Clean and tidy, 10 minutes walk from Essen train station and 25 minutes walk from Essen Exhibition Center."
Garner Hotel ESSEN - MESSE by IHG ★★★
"A very pleasant hotel with excellent value for money. We were especially pleased with the bed. The rooms, hallway, and restaurant are modern and attractively decorated. Delicious breakfast! The entrance is a bit dated, and the elevators are old, but they work."
Sheraton Essen Hotel ★★★★
"Both are OK."
Hotel Ambassador Essen ★★★
"One of the worst hotels I didn’t even spend the night and checked out right"

Premier Inn Essen City Centre
"The rooms are very small and not fit for family"
Hotel Essener Hof, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western
"The rooms are well furnished and sometimes a little different from the typical room. My room had a separate toilet and shower, very pleasant. Small Manco, a forgotten item 4 hours after the CA, was apparently not found in the room, which is a shame. He wasn't that small. Beds also very comfortable, all in all a very good hotel."
Schlosshotel Hugenpoet
"We had ordered breakfast for our birthday party of 4 people. But we were served ONE breakfast (a tiered stand with small individual appetizers, one of each type) and we were told that we could order more if that wasn't enough. This meant that every item on the tiered stand automatically became a polite gesture because no one wanted to eat the others' food. Despite our doubts being expressed several times, we stayed that way. We were actually billed for 4 breakfasts at EUR 36.00 each. The mood was completely ruined, and many people still consider "ordering more" to be inappropriate. This is exactly how they make money here. If I pay for four breakfasts, I want to get four breakfasts."
JustStay Essen Hotel & Apartments
"Clean, modern, tidy rooms! Check in was really easy. Had a great stay for a good price! I surely recommend this hotel!"
Mintrops Concierge Hotel
"Centrally located. Uncomplicated check-in. Spacious apartment. Bright living room area. Comfortable beds. Nice kitchen. Large bathroom. Nice breakfast. Parking available. Quick and helpful staff with questions or requests. The family of four was very satisfied."
DORMERO Hotel Essen
"Good attention and good breakfast too. A little bit old in my opinion but would go again if possible. Soft bed and pillows . Lucky to have a refrigerator. Did not the bathroom, kind of old and dark. Internet was fine. Stairs on corridor made difficult to go with a heavy luggage ."
New Work Hotel Essen
"Friendly staff, a very clean and beautiful hotel, very centrally located. You might initially think, given the view of the A40 motorway, that it must be noisy, but with the windows closed, you hear NOTHING."
Stadt-Gut-Hotel Rheinischer Hof
"Very friendly staff. I felt very safe. Good bed, I slept like a baby! Breakfast buffet was super! There was even a lunch package. Also a bus/train ticket was included. I have visited a friend in Essen and will be guaranteed to stay here again. Thank you very much!"
Residence Inn Essen City
"Everything is really great and clean, only if it is possible the breakfast for vegans is a little more."
Mintrops Stadt Hotel Margarethenhöhe
"We had booked a garden room, which was described as airy and with a view of and access to the garden, but the actual room was very small and the view of the garden turned out to be a view of garden clutter and there was no access to a garden. In addition, the duvets were too heavy for the time of year."
Hotel Friends Essen Zeche Zollverein
"The room was great and highly recommended! The room was great and highly recommended! The room was great and highly recommended! The room was great and highly recommended! The room was great and highly recommended! The room was great and highly recommended!"
Hotel Franz
"Very good hotel! Rooms are large, clean, ordened and modern, the same applies to the bathroom. Breakfast is very good. Person at breakfast is very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of parking (but 15,-/day) - it is not well painted: not driving to the small small parking place, which is painted, but just over at the main entrance, then then comes behind the real big parking place."
Hotel Das Lola
"We came to stay at this hotel over the weekend and we came for work. Truly we believed it’s not a 4 star. It is a 3 star. Reception is only open from 7am till 3pm. We arrived late, so there was no receptionist, our room was clean but the sink was so blocked that it wasn’t possible to properly use it at all, not even to brush the teeth cause the water would come to the floor. The next day in the morning I went and asked a receptionist to unblock the silk. Seemed like or she didn’t care or she didn’t speak English well. She didn’t even say she’s sorry that in a 4 star hotel the water comes on the floor if we use a sink. After we left to work all day and when we came back in the evening - nothing was fixed. Sink is the same very much blocked and receptionist is gone. I’d not recommend and not come back. Had to brush my teeth with a water bootle. Also there is only one pillow and house keeping just turned off the heating so it’s freezing cold when we come back, instead of giving fresh towels, bath mat (they forgot once again to give us a bath mat) or toilet paper. Honestly this hotel is not worth the money at all."
Hotel Bredeney
"I stayed at this hotel for a business trip to Düsseldorf. Although it is located slightly on the outskirts, it is an excellent hotel for the price. It is also close to the highway, so I think it is the best hotel for those using a rental car. The breakfast is also superb."
Mintrops Land Hotel Burgaltendorf
"Lovely and guest oriented hotel in green area This hotel lies in the greener outskirt of Essen, ideal for cycling trips or to visit tne Ruhrgebiet without the rush of a city centre. We had a very comfortable stay. There is a lot of eye for detail in this hotel. For example: we had two racebikes with us which we could park securely in a special and fully equipped bikegarage. The breakfast was well organised and the restaurant is a recommendation for lunch and dinner. Last but not least the personnel is really guest focussed. Only attention point; there is no AC in the room so I suppose there room could get really hot in summer."
Hotel Haus Gimken
"A nice, clean, quiet hotel, more than adequate for our needs. We did not use the offered breakfast; it looked basic. Hotel restaurant was busy each of the evenings we stayed, but since we were visiting family, we didn’t eat in the restaurant. Room was average size by European standards, bathroom was roomy. Amenities were mixed: nice bathrobes but soaps were minimal and no shampoo was offered. Hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk two different tram or S Bahn stop and in a nice neighborhood. I would stay there again."
