Holiday Inn - the niu, COBBLES ESSEN by IHG
"The location was good, and a lot of available restaurants nearby within walkable distance. Overall experience was satisfactory."
Atlantic Congress Hotel Essen
"The location is excellent. The room is large and well-equipped. The only drawback is that the sound insulation is not very good. I was woken up by the sound of the door closing next door in the morning and the floor felt a little shaken."
Garner Hotel ESSEN - MESSE by IHG
"Everything was very nice except for the beds as a couple. Who's nice when it's one mattress and not two? They always fall apart!"
Garner Hotel ESSEN - HANDELSHOF by IHG
"Had a very nice time. Perfect location near the main station. Very comfortable."
Four Points Flex by Sheraton Essen
"Mediocre breakfast"
Sheraton Essen Hotel
"Everything was okey"
Hotel Ambassador Essen
"Super clean place, well-located, breakfast is varied and good, the receptionist was such a kind guy. For its price, I find it absolutely perfect."
Hotel Essener Hof, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western
"The room is very good and the service is friendly. The location is excellent and convenient for travel, close to the train station."
Spark by Hilton Essen City Centre
"Excellent hotel well located next to the Central Station. Good clean room, very friendly staff and a nice breakfast."

Premier Inn Essen City Centre
"Hotel close the main train station and the city center with just a few minutes to walk. It was surprisingly quiet here. Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet is very good and you can something for every taste."
Premier Inn Essen City
"This hotel is conveniently located just outside Essen center, only a short walk from Limbecker Platz. A public covered car park is round the corner, connected internally to the hotel lobby by a short corridor. The staff is polite and efficient. The rooms are clean and spacious. Ideal for visiting Essen center on foot. This summary sounds like going to a four point rating. Yet I have two issues with the hotel, causing a three point rating. The first issue is that the beds were very uncomfortable, a bit like a "torture chamber special". Secondly, I was disappointed that there was no discount on the parking garage tariff for hotel guests. But, as sleeping quality is a very personal experience, you may disregard this point and read a four point rating instead."
B&B HOTEL Essen-Hbf
"This is an average hotel . Room is small and bathroom is small . The staff are very nice and friendly. Breakfast has the same things everyday . Very close to Essam train station only five minutes walk . You need to ask for housekeeping everyday otherwise we don’t clean your room"
Limehome Essen Kettwiger Straße
"Convenient location in center of Essen with lots of amenities. Room is clean and check in is a breeze with PIN code. House keeping is once a week"
Moxy Essen City
"Staffs are nice, hotel is clean."
Flowers Hotel Essen
"The service attitude is perfect, the hygiene is very, very good, but the decoration is a bit plastic, it doesn't feel very good, I didn't get a room with an exterior view, but the other rooms have balconies."
B&B HOTEL Essen-City
"Walking distance to Essen centre. Beds in twin room very narrow. Functional stay."
Motel One Essen
Schlosshotel Hugenpoet
"Not a lot that is wrong here. Beautiful location, good staff, large rooms with all amenities, great bed, good wifi. Large parking, no charging for electric cars on site. Great breakfast, partially made to order. Two restaurants on site, a bistro and a fine dining restaurant. Bistro was good, not exceptional, but maybe this was because we had a set menu. Fine dining, much better, but ridiculously expensive wines, as well as all other drinks at the bar. I still give it 5 stars but selling a bottle of $20 euro for nearly $100 is not ok."
Mintrops Stadt Hotel Margarethenhöhe
"Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night. The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful, and so is the hotel. We received a very warm welcome and had large rooms, which were just a little dated. But it was spotlessly clean, and we slept wonderfully. We had plans to meet someone else for dinner, but later we ended up staying at the bar. The service was fantastic, and the drinks selection was excellent. Breakfast was ample and good. I would gladly stay here again."
Hotel Franz
"Very good hotel! Rooms are large, clean, ordened and modern, the same applies to the bathroom. Breakfast is very good. Person at breakfast is very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of parking (but 15,-/day) - it is not well painted: not driving to the small small parking place, which is painted, but just over at the main entrance, then then comes behind the real big parking place."
FOUR Essen City Centre
"This hotel used to be good .. but now rooms looking tired and old .. not told there wouldn’t be a bath only a shower. Front of house Bar etc all ok rooms very dirty & no net curtains so have to shut main curtains when out of shower .. staff great helpful & friendly.. its obviously owners not investing the money for an overdue revamp.. breakfast always good .. but bar / restaurant shut some nights ., so brought own beers in & Sat in bar & used there glasses lol!! Used to be much better & coming here for 20 yrs will think seriously about rebooking next April …"
Hotel Bredeney
"Everything was great!"
Hotel Das Lola
"We came to stay at this hotel over the weekend and we came for work. Truly we believed it’s not a 4 star. It is a 3 star. Reception is only open from 7am till 3pm. We arrived late, so there was no receptionist, our room was clean but the sink was so blocked that it wasn’t possible to properly use it at all, not even to brush the teeth cause the water would come to the floor. The next day in the morning I went and asked a receptionist to unblock the silk. Seemed like or she didn’t care or she didn’t speak English well. She didn’t even say she’s sorry that in a 4 star hotel the water comes on the floor if we use a sink. After we left to work all day and when we came back in the evening - nothing was fixed. Sink is the same very much blocked and receptionist is gone. I’d not recommend and not come back. Had to brush my teeth with a water bootle. Also there is only one pillow and house keeping just turned off the heating so it’s freezing cold when we come back, instead of giving fresh towels, bath mat (they forgot once again to give us a bath mat) or toilet paper. Honestly this hotel is not worth the money at all."
Mintrops Concierge Hotel
"This hotel/apartment building has seen better days. The tap in the small kitchen leaks, the walls are boarded up and covered in dirty fingerprints, and there are unplastered holes in the walls. The receptionist (the only friendly staff member I encountered) didn't mention the limited cleaning service. The air conditioning is terrible, either too hot or too cold. Breakfast has an extremely limited selection. I really can't recommend this place."
Hotel Friends Essen Zeche Zollverein
"We booked this hotel as part of a road trip to the artic circle. The room was booked a couple of months before. We have emails from the hotel stating clearly our reservation was GUARANTEED. The email states that twice. 48 before arrival the hotel emailed to tell us that they were exercising a clause in their T&C that enables them to cancel a guaranteed reservation and cancelled our reservation. Don’t book this hotel if you rely on guaranteed reservations."
