The location is only good for those willing to taxi or drive to Funchal- otherwise it is a 30-35minite walk, allow more time for the way back all uphill. The decor of the rooms is dated- very 1990s in style, the carpet is wearing thin in places. The pool side area is nice but could benefit from a modernization to make the decor match the level of service. Can't fault the stay otherwise. Shout out to Sandra, the Maitre 'd, D for her amazing level of service. Obregado!"

"Hehe, it seems that we were upgraded to a room type, which is very nice. The scenery is great. There are restaurants and supermarkets just up the hill from the hotel. It's just a little far from the city center. The bus station is right in front of the hotel. Don't have too much hope for breakfast, it's all white rice. I wanted to eat soup but there was none. The bath products are okay, at least they have a brand."

"Lovely hotel, we had a deluxe room , comfy beds , large balcony and lovely sea view. Very clean , good breakfast . The shuttle bus is good , we booked it the night before online. The bus drops you at the port in Funchal. The pool area is lovely and clean and the snack bar food is very good. The only reason we wouldn’t go back is the challenging steps down to the pool /bar and promenade although we did it most days we did struggle coming up again especially in the heat."
