Capsule in Gangneung - Hostel Reviews

This was my first time staying at a guesthouse, and I was incredibly impressed! The owner was so friendly, the price was reasonable, and the facilities were great. Being just a minute's walk from the beach made our 1-night, 2-day trip to Gangneung truly enjoyable. Wishing you continued success!

This place is a perfect place for those who want to stay close to the big beaches, but not on the big beach itself^^ The area is super quiet and the beach is a little bit deserted, but it only takes 10 minutes to walk to the central beach with all all the facilities. The owners met us with the drip coffee bags with a password, we didn’t really see them all this time, which is perfect for introverts too 🙌 We especially enjoyed our breakfasts outside at the terrace, and the food was exceptional, thank you so much for preparing those kimpabs and hot sandwiches 💛 They also had towels and you could use as many as you wanted (one towel per day I guess?) The only thing that was disappointing was the absence of the elevator (we had to carry our suitcases to the 4th floor), but it was the only inconvenience, so it did not really ruin the whole experience!! 🙌🥹👌 There weren’t that many people living on our floor, so it was not that noisy (maybe take some earplugs for the night tho?)

breakfast was amazing with free gimbap and egg sandwich, free flow 3-1 coffee, milk and cereal. the sleeping area is just enough for a small carry on luggage but still cozy enough. found piles of hair near the bed, else all is clean it’s right next to the beach and 6-7mins walk away from the gangneung beach entrance (bus stop) and next to that bus stop is the Sea Tea Bus

The place is conveniently located near Gangmun Beach and easily accessible.

I stayed for two nights, and I managed to have an entire floor to myself for one of the nights! This hostel is a little far from the centre of Gangneung but there is a bus stop nearby and it seems reasonably well connected to other areas. The room is very warm, especially good in the winter. I would recommend bringing some slippers if you don't want to walk on the ground, but it's still clean. The bathroom has slippers provided. The bathrooms are clean with enough space, but I did find grime on the bottle of the shampoo/conditioner/bodywash bottles when I lifted them up. There are charging points inside the capsule, along with the option to heat the blanket/bedding. The hostel is self check in, but I found this confusing because I didn't find this information clearly written on the booking confirmation notice.

Near the beach, it's nice. Breakfast and the bed itself was ok. But there is no curtain for the window, the light prevented me from sleeping well. Others roomates were noisy and turn on the lights in the early morning, so disrespectful !

The entrance was not quite welcoming since it almost looked a bit like a construction site, but I was happy with my bed and room. The lockers are quite small, so I would recommend to not bring large luggage/ backpack since it will not fit. There could be more tables in the entrance to make having breakfast at the hostel a little more comfortable.

Room was okay. I went during the off season so theres only me and someone else in the room. There is airconditioning in the room for air circulation. Location was good and close enough to lake.

The sea view is amazing. There were some problems with the hot water supply though.

The owner was really friendly, and the facilities were clean and nice. The beach was right in front, so I could lay in bed and look out at the ocean, and I could swim whenever I wanted. I also enjoyed watching the sunrise in the morning, and the delicious breakfast provided was truly satisfying. I highly recommend this place to solo travelers!

It was my first time staying at Tomitori Air. It was a bit crowded and chaotic because there were a lot of people staying there during the holiday, but the owner and the uncle were kind and had a great sense of making welcome coffee themselves. The breakfast was like a line of kimbap in the reviews, but it was toast, eggs, cereal, milk, and because it was winter, I was impressed by the soup fish cake. After eating a lot in the morning, I felt very hungry~~^^ I recommend this place for the price^^

I was a male and used the 4th floor. I was surprised to see that the soap holder in the bathroom was a sanitary pad. I think it was originally a female room.

Don't just put up a curtain and say it's a guest room. Make it clear that it's a dormitory so people know it~~
