"The accommodation is cheap but overall very good value for money - the room amenities were quite basic, but perfectly sufficient for a solo business traveller such as myself. The room was dated but comfortable, and the staff were helpful. The dock side view across the firth was a lovely bonus for a quick morning walk!"

"Part of our journey included a stop over in Greenock near the harbour. Staff at the hotel were friendly upon arrival and throughout our stay. Breakfast, with an incredible view over the harbour was really, really good, with excellent service provided by John, who was very helpful, friendly and professional and went out of his way to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Thank you!"

The Foresters Guest House

"Very clean and tidy and the check-in process was very straightforward. The room was also well stocked with tea, coffee, herbal tea etc. a kettle, shampoo and shower gel, towels etc. The guesthouse was nice and quiet, it’s in a beautiful location and only about 5 mins to Inverkip train station which is very convenient for ferries from Wemyss Bay only one stop away. But my room wasn’t particularly warm. The radiator wouldn’t come on. I texted asking for assistance and was sent a screenshot showing the room was 18 degrees celsius & that the heating had been boosted to 23.5. The radiator came on for a few hours but then went off again. The duvet was thin with a thin throw on top so I also used the thin duvet and throw from another bed in the room and added two large bath towels on top. I got up about 7am and the radiator was stone cold and wouldn’t come on again. It was the middle of December and after travelling all day and waiting a long time in the dark on cold platforms for delayed trains due to stormy weather it was a further downer having a chilly room. There was also no information on arrival or in the room about how to order breakfast. However, my booking was very last minute and I did overlook the email about also checking in online so perhaps if I’d completed that process I would’ve seen how breakfast worked. I’m still unsure whether breakfast would’ve been charged separately or whether I already paid for it with the room. In any case I left without breakfast."
