The staff is very friendly. The location is good. However, there will be noise from the subway passing by. If you are not noise tolerant, you need to be careful.

I was initially apprehensive about staying in an ”old” hotel, but my worries came to rest. It was similar to a cottage theme with very clean rooms and adequate amentities. Staff were always very friendly, greeting us everytime we leave and return to the hotel, and responds promptly to our housekeeping requests. 10 minutes from the hotel, there is a park with a calming stream, a great place to rest and rewind from the busy city life. Nearest train station is just 5 minutes walk away, and a 30-45 minutes car ride to downtown. Some downsides though, there are no nearby restaurants besides the one in the hotel, and no nearby supermarkets. Utensils were not provided in the room so be prepared to bring your own set. Hotel lifts seem a bit worn out but had not broken down during my stay. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay given the calm surrounding vibes and amazing service. I would consider returning in the future

PingpingshijieThe hotel's hardware facilities are fine, but the front desk service... I hope they hire more staff with a better service mindset.
I owed just over 67 yuan for the hotel fee and gave 70, so I should have gotten more than two yuan back. I was really tired and just wanted to go back to my room to rest since it was late at night. Then this classic conversation ensued:
Her: ”There's just over one yuan left, do you want your change?”
Me: ”Yes, please.” (I just wanted to go rest quickly)
Her: ”Do you want the cash now?”
Me: ”OK.”
Her: ”Can I give it to you when you check out?”
Me: ”OK.” (I really just wanted to end the conversation)
Her: ”Can I just not give it to you? It's only a bit over one yuan.”
Me: ”OK.” (So tired, and hadn't even eaten yet)
Her: ”OK”

Vivian Dewi ShenRequested the newly renovated room instead of non renovated. The hotel staff was very kind and friendly to let us check in at 1.30pm as our rooms was ready. Eventhough we didnt get the connecting room as we requested but we were happy enough to let us an early check in.

Guest UserThe room was a bit small, but still big enough to open two large suitcases. The hotel is historic, and the bathroom facilities seem to have been renovated, so it doesn't feel run-down, though the water pressure was quite low. The bedding was comfortable. There's an ice machine on my floor, and a LCBO (liquor store) connected to the underground level on B1, which is great for those who enjoy a drink. Since it was our anniversary, the receptionist gave us a room with a view of the CN Tower, which was a nice touch, and the chocolates we received at check-in were also delicious. The hotel's B1 level connects directly to the CN Tower, so the location is absolutely unbeatable. I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

Suite room was amazing and the cleaner was the most professional one we have ever met!

Guest UserThe location is great, among shops and restaurants. The lobby is quite small, with only a couple of couches to sit. There is a restaurant and bar in the restaurant as well, with tables and chairs but the division is not as clear between what is lounge area for hotel guests and restaurant seatings. We were waiting for our room to be serviced and my husband sat at a table to do some work on the labtop and only about 20% of the restaurant had customers with the remaining tables empty. He was approached by a couple of waitstaff and he explained that he's there to do some work and didn't want to order any food. At which point, a manager approached him and asked him to move to the sofa area and not occupy a table and he did and then the manager approached him again, asking what room are we staying in as well as other details. There's not much work/lounge space in the area at all. I feel that they could have let him sit at a table, considering many of the tables were not occupied. I've seen people sit there on a previous day with their laptops and not order anything. So it was kind of unpleasant that that happened. Also, our room had absolutely no natural light, which made it very depressing. I don't know if I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Toronto.

Came to Toronto for a conference and booked this apartment a few days in advance. It wasn't cheap and didn't include breakfast, but I chose it for its proximity. I didn't have high expectations, but after checking in, I felt it was excellent value for money. It's on the 44th floor, the highest level with a balcony, and the sky is directly overhead – the view is perfect! I just felt the safety could be a bit better, as it's completely open.

Faith LobatonWe had a great stay at Holiday Inn Downtown Toronto! The hotel is conveniently located near the heart of downtown, making it easy to explore nearby restaurants, shops, and attractions. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout my stay.
The only small downside was the hotel parking, which was a little pricey at $40 per day. However, there are plenty of cheaper parking options nearby, so it wasn’t a major issue. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is a bit old, but it's well-maintained and the environment is very good. What was unexpected was the extremely unfriendly attitude of the front desk staff. At first, I thought they were unfriendly because my booking was from Trip.com (meaning I couldn't earn IHG member points), but after staying, I realized the front desk simply had poor service awareness.
I came to Toronto for a game on the 20th. I arrived at the front desk at 2 PM, but the room wasn't ready, so I stored my luggage and checked in at 11 PM. The next day, I left at 10 AM and returned at 11 PM to find the room still hadn't been cleaned. I called the front desk to complain, and an Indian man gave a perfunctory response and then hung up on me, which infuriated me... I called the front desk again, and an Asian woman answered. She was still perfunctory but eventually agreed to send towels and drinking water to the room. Traveling all this way and paying a high price for such an experience has really soured my impression of Toronto as a city. IHG, goodbye.
