Afternoon Tea: There's afternoon tea every day, and it's not just a perfunctory offering – they have really delicious cakes and such. Welcome Fruit: Freshly washed fruit is provided daily. Service: The service is truly excellent. As someone who used to work as a server, I can say the attitude here is outstanding. Environment: It's exceptionally clean and tidy, and the staff are very friendly and never superficial. Hygiene: Superb. I'll definitely recommend this to my friends and family next time! 👍

I feel like I'd be doing a disservice if I didn't give a glowing review of Dali Molv - Shanshe Smart B&B (Dali Ancient City Branch) after my three-day stay. 'Picking chrysanthemums by the eastern fence, I gaze at Cangshan Mountain with leisure!' Firstly, let me talk about the experience from booking to check-in. After checking rankings and the location, I chose a spot outside the ancient city, about 250 meters from the main road, with Honglongjing Gate just across it. It's about a 12-minute walk to the ancient city, depending on your pace. We booked four rooms for eight people: three tatami queen beds and one tea tatami twin. After a call, we added each other on WeChat for communication, including breakfast and afternoon tea, and they were almost instantly responsive, with the longest wait being five minutes. For someone like me who values service feedback, this was incredibly efficient and satisfying. Now, about the stay itself. While on the train from Kunming to Dali, we informed them 1-2 hours in advance of our estimated arrival time and afternoon tea preparation. The train journey was about 45 minutes. I initially thought about staying one night on the south side of Erhai Lake, but with seniors and children, I decisively opted for a continuous stay. Our subsequent dining and sightseeing experiences proved this to be the right choice, saving the elderly and children from unnecessary travel, especially the several folks in their early 70s. Upon arriving at the B&B, we were greeted by a Shiba Inu and another small dog whose name I don't recall (forgive my ignorance). Then, an aunt immediately went to call the front desk staff (the owner) for us. He promptly came out to welcome us and handled our check-in very enthusiastically. I must highlight a few check-in details: firstly, they upgraded two of our queen rooms. Secondly, they insisted on carrying our three suitcases to each room, though we 'rescued' our luggage from them. Finally, in each room, they patiently explained how to use the intelligent 'Xiao Ai' smart speaker, the bathroom equipment, the complimentary drinks in the fridge, and the humidifier's location. The fully smart toilet with disposable seat covers (which most hotels don't provide) was a great convenience for travelers like us. In short, everything in the room was free. After settling our belongings in the rooms, we headed to the tearoom to enjoy the custom-made, freshly baked afternoon tea. Two servings were already prepared, and two more were brought over as we sat down, totaling four servings, which confirmed they were prepared fresh. Both children and adults loved it, especially the waffles which disappeared instantly. The floral tea, fruit, rose cakes, and pastries were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Moving on to the overall experience during our stay, the rooms were very spacious, with an open-plan layout, and the bathroom, shower, and vanity areas were all dry/wet separated. But what I want to emphasize most is the quality of service. Firstly, regarding drinks, the young man told us not to hesitate to ask them for anything we needed, immediately alleviating any shyness we might have had. Secondly, breakfast only required 10-20 minutes notice for freshly prepared meals. There were A and B set menus to choose from, and the rice noodles were better than those found in chain hotels – abundant and satisfying. As for the environment, please refer to the photos; it's certainly among the top-tier B&Bs. They also have their own small bar, which I didn't visit, but I drank plenty of refillable iced lattes, which my son particularly loved and had every day. A crucial point is the complimentary sweet soup before bed every night, with different options for the two nights. The first night was red bean and peanut sweet soup; the bowl in the photo shows how delicious it looked. The second night was mung bean and coix seed sweet soup, and they proactively reminded us that it was available whenever we wanted. On the first day, we returned quite late from sightseeing and even troubled them to deliver it to our rooms (four people came back from dinner and walking around the ancient city). We returned after 10 PM, and after we told them, they quickly came to collect the bowls. They initially told us to just leave them outside, but their service was so good that I couldn't bear to leave them out, fearing they might be accidentally damaged. Soon, two young ladies came to collect from all four of our rooms. They were kind and beautiful, and every staff member we met greeted us warmly. On the second night, we had eaten too much and hadn't thought about asking for the sweet soup, but I was pleased that even without us asking, they proactively offered it. Another detail worth mentioning: on the first night, my son had a nosebleed while picking his nose in his sleep, staining the duvet and sheets. I informed them and offered to cover the cleaning fee, but they simply told me, 'Brother, it's fine, we can get it cleaned today,' which instantly made me feel very warm inside. Before our outings, they also provided us with travel suggestions. I've attached some beautiful photos and recorded my feelings for everyone's reference. I strongly recommend this place to any friends traveling with family who want to find tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle.

Had a fantastic stay in Dali! The hotel's location is perfect, right outside the main entrance of the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. It's a quiet oasis despite being so central. The room was clean, tidy, and soundproof, so I slept really well. The staff were attentive and thoughtful, even giving me a complimentary flower cake when I checked out – such a lovely touch! I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Dali.

We stayed here from 12–15 May during our honeymoon and decided to do our Yunnan trip entirely on our own. Dali was our first destination after landing in Kunming the night before, and it turned out to be the perfect start to our journey. Since our train arrived early at around 9:00 AM, I contacted the host a few days in advance to ask if an early check-in would be possible. Not only were they happy to accommodate our request, but they also kindly offered to pick us up from the station. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our host, Mei, who gave us a tour of the property after check-in. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The architecture is absolutely stunning, from the outside, it feels like staying in a beautiful traditional palace within the old town, while the interior is thoughtfully modernized with every comfort you could need. Our room was incredibly spacious, and we especially loved the heated bathroom floors and the bidet, which was a pleasant surprise. There is also a rooftop area where guests can enjoy a beautiful sunrise view. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. Guests are given several options, and parts of the menu change daily, which kept things interesting. What we looked forward to most every morning was the amazing yogurt served with homemade rose jam, it was honestly the best we've ever had. We mentioned how much we loved it, and at the end of our stay, Mei surprised us with a jar to take home. Such a thoughtful gesture! Every evening, the hotel served a warm dessert, introducing us to flavors that were completely new yet delicious. We were also treated to a complimentary afternoon tea. To make our honeymoon even more special, Mei and her team surprised us with a personalized cake, which was incredibly touching. The location is very convenient, with several Muslim-friendly eateries within a 10-minute walk, as well as convenience stores nearby. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the hospitality. Out of all the accommodations we stayed at during our Yunnan trip, this was by far the best. Mei went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, constantly sharing recommendations, travel tips, and local insights to help us make the most of our time in Dali. We genuinely felt cared for throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for honeymooners and newlyweds looking for a memorable and heartfelt experience. InsyaAllah, we will definitely return on our future trips to Dali.

I booked this room last minute for one night, and I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel has a grand atmosphere. The staff proactively helped with our luggage, and check-in was very quick. My baby was sick when we arrived. The front desk staff gave my child a small balloon, and knowing she had a fever, they even brought us fever patches and offered a late check-out. This hotel truly showed great humanistic care. The room we booked had the bed on one side, and a bar and bathroom on the other. They had already made up the sofa bed for us before we arrived. The room also had a fridge and a microwave, which was incredibly convenient for heating milk and food when traveling with a baby! The soundproofing between rooms was excellent; we couldn't hear conversations or water noises from other rooms. Plus, our room had a city view, so it was quite quiet at night. However, I heard from other guests that rooms facing Erhai Lake might not be as quiet. Overall, I was extremely satisfied. If I hadn't already booked another guesthouse for the next day, I would have loved to stay a few more nights.

Vehicles are not allowed inside the ancient town, so typically, guesthouses will transport guests' luggage from the drop-off point to the accommodation, while guests walk to the guesthouse. However, this hotel arranged for guests to take the ancient town's sightseeing buggy, saving us a long walk. The hotel staff, both the ladies and gentlemen, were incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic. The overwater swing is a real highlight. The lovely lady at the front desk helped my wife get dressed in a beautiful flowing gown, and the gentleman staff member assisted with operating the swing. The hotel breakfast offered a Western buffet, a traditional nine-grid set meal, and à la carte options. The room was not only clean and beautiful but also thoughtfully detailed. Every staff member, even the cleaning ladies, was very warm and polite. We had a comfortable and pleasant day. This is a hotel that excels in its facilities, services, and overall quality. Highly recommended.

We were really pleased with the room this time! It was incredibly spacious, perched halfway up the mountain, and opening the door just put us in a great mood. Breakfast was also very extensive. What's more, the owner is a true Yunnan expert; for travelers who are unsure about their itinerary, he can definitely offer excellent advice. His recommendations for restaurants in Dali and our onward journey were incredibly helpful.

Dali Hotel, Take Three: Living in an Underwater World! Bringing the kids to Dali and fulfilling their dream of an underwater room! 🌊 I’ve put together a super honest guide to our stay! I'll cover prices, floor choices, hidden costs, and food and drink, so first-timers can just copy this plan! 💰 Room Prices & Floor Pitfalls ▪️ Standard Rooms: 400-600 RMB/night No underwater view, great value for money if you just need a place to stay. ▪️ Underwater View Rooms: 1600-1900 RMB/night Prices vary by floor, and here’s the key thing to avoid! ❌ Definitely don’t choose the 1st floor! The floor is too low, the window is quite small, you can only see corals and small bottom-dwelling fish. Photos turn out very ordinary, and the experience is poor. ✅ Go for the 2nd floor first! Best value for money overall! The price is moderate, the viewing window is super large, and the view is expansive. You’ll get great photos effortlessly. Call the front desk in advance to reserve a room with a good view. We stayed in room 8220, and the view was quite good. ⭕ The 3rd floor is slightly more expensive. The view isn't significantly different from the 2nd floor. If you're looking for value, just go for the second floor. ⚠️ Charged Activities The mermaid and golden storm performances, which used to be free, are now all charged! 200 RMB per show. Other self-funded interactive activities: ▫️ Touching dolphins for a photo: 100 RMB ▫️ Feeding seals: 50 RMB ▫️ Feeding penguins: 100 RMB ✅ Perks Worth Praising Booking a room includes a complimentary diving experience 🤿. There are no hidden secondary charges, which is really thoughtful! 🍜 Food and Drink ▫️ The mini-bar in the room has a rich variety of snacks and drinks, all free of charge. ▫️ There are very few restaurants around the hotel. If you want a proper meal, you'll need to take a taxi for about 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can order takeout or dine at the hotel. ▫️ The hotel’s own breakfast is of good quality, and the à la carte dishes in the restaurant are also very reasonably priced. (It’s advisable to order takeout in advance, as delivery times can be quite long.) Many people think almost 2000 RMB for one night is expensive. But seeing the kids pressed against the window, watching the underwater world with eyes full of surprise and wonder ✨, makes all the expenses feel super worth it! A true fairy-tale experience exclusively for children! 👧🏻

This inn gets a perfect score! The facilities are both modern and inviting, and the central air conditioning ensured a supremely comfortable stay. Rooms were spacious with expansive views, and the setting was private and tranquil. The courtyard design was exquisite, and the evening lighting was incredibly romantic. Service was incredibly attentive; from check-in to check-out, the staff were always smiling and ready to assist. They even helped us arrange transportation and book tickets. Cleanliness was exceptional; towels and bath towels were replaced daily, and everything was thoroughly sanitized, making our stay completely worry-free and reassuring. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Dali!

I finally stayed at this beautiful B&B that I've been eyeing for a while. The ecological environment in Haixi is fantastic, and it's not as crowded or commercialized as other places like Dali Ancient City or Shuanglang. It's incredibly laid-back, and I felt relaxed the moment I checked in, ready for my vacation ⛱️. Even though I did my research beforehand, I was still blown away when I opened the door. The room has huge floor-to-ceiling windows, offering stunning views of Erhai Lake and the springtime trees outside. It's definitely a must-stay when you're in Dali. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is really delicious and plentiful, and they even prepare beautifully presented afternoon tea. Apparently, you can also order some nice cocktails from the coffee shop downstairs in the evening. I'll definitely be recommending this place to my family and friends!
