"We recently stayed at 7 on Marine and have only good things to say about them. Every single one of the staff was helpful and acommodating, but I would like to compliment Dominique specifically, who went out of her way to find things we forgot and helped us to arrange to have them couriered to us - all while being super nice about it! The breakfast was amazing and the view did not dissapoint! Overall a great place to stay!"

Grand Lux Boutique Manor

"Unfortunately my wife was ill and was unable to travel. I reached out to the hotel directly to explain that as my wife was having a major operation and having an unfit to travel document we would very much like to rebook at a later date . However the hotel showed no empathy or sympathy and refused our request . Money is there only consideration putting their own financial gain and profit before a woman undergoing cancer treatment! I will add the only hotel along the garden route that has shown such a shameful attitude. Way goes around comes around !"

The Thatch House Hermanus

"We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is stunning and very peaceful. The staff especially Rory were all very helpful . We normally like to eat out in restaurants but the food here was so good we ate here twice during our three night stay. Drinks in the lounge before dinner were so relaxing and we were never rushed to sit down for dinner. Some of the rooms overlooked the lagoon but we had a mountain view which was picturesque with comfortable lounge chairs on the patio to take in the view . We have rebooked for next year but increased our stay to five nights ."

Mosselberg on Grotto Beach

"This truly immaculate guest house on Grotto Beach ticks all the boxes. Great location, wonderful rooms, superb breakfasts and lovely staff. Lots of unexpected extras like a complimentary nightcap and chocolates. Worth every penny! Our only disappointment was that we could not get in for 2026!"

Hermanus Heights Villa

"The apartment is very spacious. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only downside for me personally is that it's not very cozy; I wouldn't want to live here for long. And one more thing: we found an ashtray full of cigarette butts on the balcony from the previous tenants when we went out to look for whales with binoculars! Yes, there were binoculars, too."

Anchor's Rest

"Stayed at their apt 9 waterfront apt. Great instructions for checking in and getting the keys. The photos made it very easy. The apartment is nicely decorated and has everything you need for your stay. The pool area upstairs was lovely and the central location was perfect. A little noisey on a weekend, but nothing horrendous and it's the price you pay for being right in the centre. View was good, more than a side sea view, that is advertised. Nice having milk and coffee when you arrive,dsaves you having to shop on the day you get there. Plenty of space in the apartment and good sized bathroom. Had a few issues with the lights but was sorted quickly. Also note had issues with the Netflix, but used our own account, so didn't cause any problem. Note.. There is only Netflix in the room, no standard sabc TV. Parking was no problem. All in all had a great stay and would recommend and stay again. Karien was very helpful as a host."

Lavender Manor Guest Lodge

"Spotlessly clean and a delicious breakfast. The room was lovely and had everything you’d expect and more. We had the added benefit of seeing plenty of whales from the roof terrace. The road is quiet and Dutchies is nearby for a delicious meal."

6 Stemmet Lodge

"The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the city center. The hostess helped us book a whale watching excursion. It's cold to sleep, but there are warm blankets and an electric blanket. The room has a microwave, kettle, and refrigerator. The breakfast was delicious, and we're especially grateful for that. We forgot our bags at the hotel, and the hotel immediately emailed us. The town is safe, and we walked around at night for the first time in two weeks."

Milkwood Lodge

"Everything about this place was absolutely wonderful - it was pretty, comfortable, thoughtful and meticulously arranged. We were given an upgrade by the host Linda - who is the kindest, supportive and absolutely adorable person - my 5yo daughter absolutely loved the place and Linda’s company. The views from the place were also very pretty. The rooms, the pool, the garden - everything was extremely well maintained. The breakfast fast was delicious. Linda even let us pack a sandwich for our way back. She made the stay so easy and comfortable. I’m surely going to go back if I am in Hermanus again"
