Room and amenities clean. Close to hospital which is why we were there. Also close to train station so you could get to other places easily. Affordable. Parking is good and reasonable rate. Will be staying there again.

We booked Marco Polo Motor Inn for 3 nights. The room was very clean and looked like it had been recently refurbished. Queen bed was very comfortable. There was also a 3 seater sofa. Towels were changed daily. TV channels worked fine. Aircon was cold without strange smells. There was a microwave, kettle, plates n bowls, cutlery,, cups n glasses. A mini fridge with freezer and even a cute single slice toaster! Coffee, tea bags n hot chocolate were provided. Parking was secure and ample. Will definitely be back if driving from Gold Coast to Sydney again. It is also walking distance to the train station. A great find! Signage was Marco Polo Motel though and we were slightly confused by it. Reception was great, friendly and helpful.

Wake up! Bondi Beach

ake Up! Bondi Beach is the perfect place to stay if you want to feel the real Bondi lifestyle. The location is unbeatable — right across from the beach, just a few steps to the sand, surf, coastal walk, cafés, and everything happening along the shoreline. Waking up to the sound of waves and watching sunrise from Bondi is something truly special. The hotel/hostel is clean, modern, and well-maintained. My room was comfortable, and even though the space is simple, it had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The common areas were bright and social, ideal for meeting new people, and the rooftop was my favourite spot — stunning ocean views, perfect for morning coffee or sunset chill. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always approachable. They gave great recommendations for food, activities, and transport, which made exploring Sydney much easier. I really appreciated the relaxed vibe — warm, casual, and welcoming. This place is perfect for travellers who enjoy beach life, surfing, fitness, or just want to experience Bondi like a local. Great location, great value, amazing atmosphere. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Wake Up! Bondi Beach to anyone visiting Sydney.

OK for one night. The hotel is above the pub, which is also very busy in the afternoon. There is also live music there on Sundays until around 9 p.m. Everything is perfectly fine, unless you have room 10 next to the washing machine/dryer and sleep next to the ventilation. Even though drying and washing is not allowed after 9 p.m., it was very annoying. The hotel rooms face the back, so in the morning you also have the noise from the loading area of the supermarket. On the positive side, the room was in a modern condition and the staff were all very nice. The beach is a ten-minute walk away.

I was lucky enough to have my room ready in advance, before 2PM and since my flight arrived early in the morning, that was really nice ! Cathy was also a wonderful person in general, throughout my stay. The room is pretty big, with a sink and a fridge. 👌🏻 The room I had is next to the common area however people weren't too loud, especially in the evening despite it roughly being the dinner time so that was nice. The area is very chill, a few schools and houses around so not loud at night. It is, however, situated on the planes' route and they are pretty low in the sky since it gets close to the airport. But there aren't any at night (around midnight until 6AM I would say) and it's not every 5 minutes either. The sun set pretty early at that time of the year and to me, I felt like the neighborhood lacked lights for people to walk around but it wasn't much of a bother and not something the lodge can change, so just a heads-up to have a small light/enough battery on the phone to use when coming back from your day trip activities.

The atmosphere and service are very good. The hotel staff are very friendly and enthusiastic. The whole hotel has a good atmosphere. People are energetic. South American style. There will be South American music in the corridor and kitchen at night, and red wine will be opened. Summer beach style. The hotel is a little messy with some sundries. It is a little noisy outside the window when sleeping, but the atmosphere is good. It is near the subway entrance. I am still very satisfied.

The property boasts an enviable and highly convenient location. It is perfectly situated within walking distance of major public transport links, including the train station and several bus routes, making your daily commute effortless. Additionally, the surrounding area offers a vibrant neighborhood feel, with a fantastic selection of supermarkets, trendy cafes, and local amenities right on your doorstep.

For a hostel, the cleanliness and facilities weren't bad. However, as it's still a hostel, it's best not to have sky-high expectations. The most surprising part was the complimentary breakfast and dinner. Considering this, it's arguably the best value-for-money hostel in Sydney.

Pros: Hotel located near bus stop. And there is a public bus direct from Sydney airport to the hotel. Just walk a bit. So cheaper than using the train. Toilet clean, room was big. Worth every penny. Cons: the hotel reception is inside a bar, so as Muslim, I don't feel comfortable going inside a bar to check in. But once you get the room key, you can use alternative entrance which is from 'something like fire exit door' Which have many stairs, but better for me than going inside a bar. Overall 👍👍👍

I needed a cheap place to stay, and overall the hostel was okay, but there are definitely things that need improvement. The room itself was messy, mainly because some guests were taking up a lot of shared space with their belongings on the floor and on top of the lockers. I know this is partly the guests’ responsibility, but in a dorm, there should be better supervision or reminders. The shower was nice, and the kitchen facilities were useful, but the kitchen was not well maintained. There were dirty dishes piling up, clogged sinks full of food, and old worn-out sponges that should be replaced more often. There also needs to be proper cloths for drying dishes and wiping tables, plus somewhere hygienic to hang them. The fridges were also completely full, and it didn’t seem like anyone was checking old food from guests who had already checked out. Someone even removed my food from the fridge and left it on the counter at room temperature for hours, which was really frustrating. Overall, the hostel has potential and the basic facilities are there, but it needs better cleaning, better kitchen organization, more fridge space, and more staff supervision in the shared areas.
