Very Good
GGuest UserRoom and amenities clean. Close to hospital which is why we were there. Also close to train station so you could get to other places easily. Affordable. Parking is good and reasonable rate. Will be staying there again.
GGuest UserWe booked Marco Polo Motor Inn for 3 nights. The room was very clean and looked like it had been recently refurbished. Queen bed was very comfortable. There was also a 3 seater sofa. Towels were changed daily. TV channels worked fine. Aircon was cold without strange smells. There was a microwave, kettle, plates n bowls, cutlery,, cups n glasses. A mini fridge with freezer and even a cute single slice toaster! Coffee, tea bags n hot chocolate were provided. Parking was secure and ample. Will definitely be back if driving from Gold Coast to Sydney again. It is also walking distance to the train station. A great find! Signage was Marco Polo Motel though and we were slightly confused by it. Reception was great, friendly and helpful.
GGuest UserOK for one night.
The hotel is above the pub, which is also very busy in the afternoon.
There is also live music there on Sundays until around 9 p.m.
Everything is perfectly fine, unless you have room 10 next to the washing machine/dryer and sleep next to the ventilation. Even though drying and washing is not allowed after 9 p.m., it was very annoying.
The hotel rooms face the back, so in the morning you also have the noise from the loading area of the supermarket.
On the positive side, the room was in a modern condition and the staff were all very nice.
The beach is a ten-minute walk away.
GGuest UserMy 2-day experience here was fantastic. The location is excellent and convenient. I love going out late at night, and it's great that the hotel is on the main street, making my late-night strolls feel very safe. I'll definitely book here again whenever I'm in Sydney.
GGuest UserI was lucky enough to have my room ready in advance, before 2PM and since my flight arrived early in the morning, that was really nice !
Cathy was also a wonderful person in general, throughout my stay.
The room is pretty big, with a sink and a fridge. 👌🏻
The room I had is next to the common area however people weren't too loud, especially in the evening despite it roughly being the dinner time so that was nice.
The area is very chill, a few schools and houses around so not loud at night. It is, however, situated on the planes' route and they are pretty low in the sky since it gets close to the airport. But there aren't any at night (around midnight until 6AM I would say) and it's not every 5 minutes either.
The sun set pretty early at that time of the year and to me, I felt like the neighborhood lacked lights for people to walk around but it wasn't much of a bother and not something the lodge can change, so just a heads-up to have a small light/enough battery on the phone to use when coming back from your day trip activities.
PPo KwongThis is my first time at the original backpacker.
Answer my phone call when I was late check-in, the guy was very polite.
Reception - very friendly and helpful show me around.
Location - convenience at King Cross with 2 supermarkets, food shop, shopping centre.
Friendly roommates with all women.
Other backpackers are very respectful. No noise after midnight.
I'll be back😊
@@nightkymz84I would tell the toilet is as per review, yes it is small and narrow but it’s simply worth the price especially when you consider the location (2mins walk to Chinatown station and Haymarket (most cheapest market in Sydney), and measured few stations to Circular Quay and one station to Sydney Central Station! Well the room (pod) condition also nice, even though you can expect the space pod is small but it’s clean and the A/C, electricity and locker works perfectly fine. Will definitely book this hotel again next time if I were a budget traveller.
KKaren VI like the place in general. Location is good, check-in and check-out are easy. It is near to public transportation, from Convention station like 5 min walking.
I stayed in the only female room, and it was very quiet at night, so I had a good sleep.
The nice thing for me is breakfast and dinner.
Luggage storage is also possible, so all was good.
EEric HooperAwesome staff, so close to everything, laundromat across the road as a winner for me, gym 2 minutes walk shops 5 minutes walk, stayed for 3 weeks bed was nice and comfortable air conditioning just right, absolutely amazing
李李英杰(莎士比亞)Great location, but you'll have a bit of a walk. You need to check in at 107-109 Darlinghurst Rd, Potts Point NSW 2011. Since I booked a cheaper room, I then had to walk 5 minutes to 144 Victoria St, Potts Point NSW 2011. I stayed in an 8-person dorm, so it was pretty crowded, but thankfully there was a balcony. The kitchen was large with plenty of tableware and cookware. However, the shower and toilet were quite small, and the power outlets had no electricity. The staff were very nice, and there was even a Chinese-speaking front desk agent, which was great. Breakfast was just average, with yogurt and toast. That's all.
