"We had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Beppu and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The location is absolutely ideal — centrally situated and within easy reach of popular attractions like Beppu Station, the hot spring districts, and local dining spots. Whether you’re exploring the “hells” of Beppu or heading to nearby onsens, everything is just a short drive or walk away.
The room was perfect for our group of three. It was spacious, well-designed, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The beds and futons were very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and quiet — great for resting after a long day of sightseeing. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like extra towels, slippers, and good quality toiletries.
One of the biggest highlights was the bathroom. Ours had a large window overlooking the city and surrounding hills — soaking in the tub while enjoying the view was a real treat and added a luxurious touch to the stay."

"I've stayed at Beppu Kamenoi Hotel multiple times, and it consistently delivers a great experience. The hotel is quite large. While it's an older property and some of the facilities show their age, it's very well-maintained and impeccably clean. The hotel's onsen (hot springs) are a major highlight – absolutely fantastic for melting away fatigue. Inside the hotel, there are several restaurants, all serving delicious food at reasonable prices. Its location is superb, just a few minutes' walk from the JR station, making it incredibly convenient for travel. We made good use of our JR Pass to easily visit Oita and Kokura."

"Fantastic service from super hotel. Location is very convenient around five minutes walk from Beppu station. Lobby is located on level two so you will need to take a lift. However the service is amazing. There are welcome drinks when you arrive. I believe there’s alcoholic drinks as well during a certain period as well between 6-9pm. You’re also able to select your Pillow according to its hardness or preferences and you can choose up to 5 amenity items these include facial mask, vitamin C serums to shavers etc. Because it is Beppu there is Also hot spring. however I would probably have liked to have it a bit bigger pool and to have an outdoor spa. All in all it was much value for money and I would go there again."

Seaview is pretty far from hotel room... Thus nothing much to see anyway.
As the Onsen is actually a bathtub attached to the inroom shower, the sulphur smell is very strong alike rotten eggs.

"The room is very big, with dry and wet separation. You have to take off your shoes in a Japanese hotel. The whole hotel is well designed. There is also a hot spring bath, which can be taken in the morning and evening. The schedule was too tight and I didn't experience the matcha activity."

Breakfast is good, value for money, nice to try. Dinner is 90-mins semi buffet, no choice for the set, special arrangement if you don’t eat beef, but take some time. Lots of wine varieties, if you don’t drink alcohol, the dinner price is NOT worth.

"Terrace scenic near the sea, spacious hotel rooms, downstairs lobby with plenty of sofas, courteous waiters, cleaning the room to key at the counter lower, entering the door to take off shoes lock locker. Beppu Station is two bus stops across the street before there is food. We took the express bus to the hotel. There is a second-hand shop across the street with very attractive things. There is Donki Donki across the street. There are also several barbecue restaurants and a separate pagoda (private bath is really nice, remember to use it).
Will stay again if I have the chance!
It is also very convenient to go to Kyushu Zoo, because it is very Chan Beppu Station to buy a package ❤️🤭"

"The hotel is incredibly clean, and the rooms are beautifully traditional Japanese-style. Unfortunately, many hotels in Japan nowadays no longer retain traditional room styles, which I find very regrettable. Japan should strive to preserve its cultural heritage rather than blindly renovating everything into a 'nightclub style'. A hotel in Japan should authentically represent Japan, preferably offering traditional tatami rooms. What's more, the price is quite reasonable."

GGuest UserThe room was clean and spacious. The hotel grounds were stunning, though unfortunately, the bad weather meant we couldn't see the sea 🌊. The hotel's service was also excellent. Despite a slight language barrier, we managed to communicate well overall 🤣! The hotel's hot spring facilities were fantastic – comfortable and clean! We were very happy that the restaurant had Chinese-speaking staff, which made communication incredibly smooth.

SSikiqiThis hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of Beppu's Hells, with attractions literally on its doorstep. All five Hells (Jigoku) are within a 3-5 minute walk, which is incredibly convenient!
While the hotel's exterior is unassuming, its interior is a hidden gem. The Japanese garden in the common areas is beautiful. Our room was spacious with a great view, allowing us to see the steam rising from the Hells. Plus, having a private onsen in the room meant we could soak to our heart's content! We even had the large public bath all to ourselves during our visit.
The Teppanyaki set meal we booked was a good experience, though we wished there was a little more meat.
We specifically requested Japanese-style breakfast when booking, but for some reason, we were given Western-style instead. When we inquired, the staff informed us that it couldn't be changed.
On a very positive note, it was our wedding anniversary trip, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared a small gift and took commemorative photos for us – a very nice touch! Aside from these minor issues, everything else was fantastic.
The only real downside was the hotel's shuttle service to the station. While they offer it, the last departure is strictly before 11 AM. If you miss it, you have to take a taxi. It feels a bit inconvenient to offer a service with such a limited timeframe. For instance, we visited the Hells in the morning and ended up leaving the hotel after 11 AM, so we had to take a taxi to the JR station. An improvement here would be much appreciated!
Overall, my husband, who was visiting Japan for the first time, said it was an excellent Japanese onsen hotel experience. He gives it a big thumbs up!

AAibonigangcaocanThe transportation is not very convenient, suitable for self-driving. If you don't have a car, you can take the bus to the foot of the mountain, which takes about 15 minutes to walk. The environment is quiet, there are five hot springs to experience, but due to the Spring Festival, the prime time is basically full, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful. The Wagyu dishes for dinner are very delicious, and the private baths and public baths are very clean. Although the breakfast tastes Japanese, the overall stay experience is great. If you want to experience a stay and two meals, you can come and experience this restaurant.

The staff were incredibly courteous and attentive, making our stay truly comfortable. The onsen water was gentle on the skin and perfectly eased our travel fatigue. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in a dining area with a splendid view. My girlfriend was extremely pleased as well, and it became a cherished memory for us. It was such a wonderful hotel that we'd definitely love to visit again.

location: it's relatively further from the station , around a 8-10min walk. there is a 7-11 just around the corner
room: my room came without a bathroom but for the ladies are 3 cubicles shared among the 7 mix gendered guests on the floor. i did not have to wait in line at all. there was more than enough space in the room to open my suitcase wide and still feel comfortable. bed and pillow was a bit hard though, and you can hear anyone talking loudly downstairs outside the building as the room is on 2nd floor, tho that doesnt happen very often.
food: amazing balanced breakfast that changes everyday - really delicious!
onsen: the one on 2F was smaller than 1F, but very good and comfortable. clean too. you can book a private onsen room for 500yen (50mins)
staff: all of them were super friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. there are english-proficient staff available 24H as well :)

GGuest UserYou can see the sunrise from the room, and the private hot spring in the room is great and comfortable. There are activities and a lot of free food in the hotel in the evening, and the hotel employees are also very generous with gifts. Two meals per stay, breakfast and dinner are also in the hotel. The lobster sashimi for dinner is delicious and the service staff is very good. After dinner, they gave us a special anniversary gift, which was very heartwarming. Highly recommend this relaxing hotel.

GGuest UserThe entryway is very spacious, and the room itself is surprisingly large, even bigger than it appears in the photos. The sea view is beautiful, and soaking in the hot spring at night felt just like having a private onsen. There's a bus stop right outside, with direct service to Chinoike Jigoku (Blood Pond Hell). Beppu Kitahama is right next door, and Don Quijote is just a short walk further. While it's a bit of a walk from Beppu Station, staying right by the sea often means sacrificing a little bit of convenience.

GGuest UserThe room was large for the price and the facilities were neatly organized, so it was very spacious and comfortable for 4 people. Although it was an unmanned hotel, there was no inconvenience in checking in or checking out. There were 2-3 parking spaces, and since there were empty spaces, I was able to park my rental car without any problems. Although it was in a narrow alley, there was a Don Quijote Beppu branch that was only a 3-minute walk away, so it was good for shopping nearby.

HHuanxideyanshenThe AMANEK hotel has two buildings, one high and one low. Because I stayed at a more expensive hot spring hotel next door the day before, I booked the shorter and older building to save money. The whole building has been renovated, but the facilities in the room are still very old. To use the swimming pool, bathing area and gym, you have to go to the new building.
There is nothing to take pictures of in the room, and I didn't go to the big bath, but just went to the gym to exercise.
The staff are still very friendly, which is very satisfactory👍

GGuest UserThe self-service counter is not well set up. You must enter the gate to use the self-service counter to contact the hotel staff. I did not receive the gate code letter from the hotel before the trip, which resulted in the inability to contact the hotel immediately at the gate. In the end, I had to use an international roaming phone to successfully contact the hotel staff.
The room is not small. There are two double beds, a single bed, a dining table and a sofa. In addition to the refrigerator, there is also a kitchen and a washing machine. It is actually quite convenient.
