"It is exactly looks like the picture they posted on trip.com. the room is spacious enough for 3 of us. The toilet is also spacious enough. It is located near the ancient town. The hotel owner/manager is so communicative and kind and really helpful in helping us finding the location. The owner was also very accomodative because we have an urgency that we need to leave earlier and go back to our town. The room is clean, the ambience is nice, overall it was a nice stay."

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel in Dali. The biggest highlight was definitely the amazing view from our room – waking up to the mountains and city skyline was truly memorable.
The breakfast was great, with a wide variety of options. The staff even asked if we needed anything else, which was a nice touch. They offered tea, water, and coffee (not the best, but still appreciated!). Every evening, we were surprised with a small snack delivery to our room – such a thoughtful detail.
Another big plus was the laundry service, which was very convenient during our travels. There's also a nice rooftop terrace, perfect for enjoying the view and relaxing.
The location is in the city, not the old town, so it’s relatively close to the train station, which made arrivals and departures easier – especially with the complimentary pickup and drop-off service (very much appreciated!). Just be aware that you’ll need to take a taxi to the old town, which takes around 30–45 minutes depending on traffic.
Communication via WeChat in English was a bit tricky – even with the translator, it was sometimes hard to understand what the staff meant, but we managed.
One thing to note: the walls are quite thin. On our last night, there was a child in the next room who screamed and cried for hours, and we couldn’t sleep. So if you’re a light sleeper, I definitely recommend bringing earplugs.
Overall, a comfortable stay with beautiful views and great service – just be prepared for some minor inconveniences.

"Situated at the southeast of Erhai, our hostel was peaceful and relaxing. The room was cosy yet spacious with homely and charming decorations. The view of the mountain and Erhai lake was absolutely stunning throughout the day. To top it off, the hosts were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfasts were simple yet delicious. The host graciously let us do our laundry with their washing machine. Thank you so much for the great and memorable experiences! Highly recommend!!"

The best thing is their amenities so complete, from heated toilet seat, dyson hair drier, heated blanked, even they provide make up remover which I found so rare. Trust me, its worth every penny to stay in here, the owner also so kind and really helpfull to attend our needs

"The hotel is well located into the Ancient City in Dali.
The welcome from the staff was well organized and they gave us everything to wander around Dali on the recommended list. We tried everything and they were spot on. Special mention to the restaurants on the list. We tried the local and western one: number 1 on the list . Delicious food. We also found an American dinner on the way. With amazing everything on the menu and those cakes !!!
The rooms are as pictured on the website. The only thing was the noise with the wooden stairs. However the hotel is aware of that and provided earplugs.
The breakfast is Chinese style and very healthy.
The laundry corner is good and the possibility to air dry the clothes under a covered area on the last floor.
The rooms were cleaned daily with the staff asking each day. They send you a message via WeChat asking you if you want to have it cleaned.
The staff answered to all of our questions about Dali and other.
They also provide a taxi booking service using a third service provider. Just make sure that you have the detail of the driver at least one day before. Ours didn’t show up but the staff explained and apologized for that unfortunate event.As well as pay back the fee we paid for it. DiDi is quite hard to get once the day starts but it’s easy to get out and try the different options: horse carriage, mini- car and taxi. During our stay we had no issues moving around. But on the departure day, if your flight is in the afternoon, I’ll recommend to rebook your ride to the airport.
The hotel is well decorated and gives you that feeling of being at home."

"The location is in a scenic spot in the center of Xizhou Ancient Town. It is very convenient for going out and shopping. The front desk guy provided us with very good service and gave us tickets. We can visit the Bai ethnic group's song and dance performances during the day and listen to the guide explain the customs of the Bai ethnic group to us. The room is elegant and spacious, and it is very quiet to sleep at night. The hygiene is good."

The small courtyard is located at the south gate of the ancient city of Dali, and it takes about 5 minutes to walk to the ancient city. Backed by Cangshan Mountain, facing Erhai Lake. It is about a 15-minute drive from the scenic spot Chongsheng Temple Three Pagoda Park, Cangshan Grand Cableway, Tianlong Babu Film and Television City and Erhai Lakeside Internet Red Ecological Corridor check-in point. "After searching around, I finally chose this hotel. Really recommend. Firstly, room was as described. We had the two bed and the host helped with luggage. Much appreciated. Spacious and comfortable. Host was very helpful. I needed some sewing services, contacted her late at night and she recommended an excellent seamstress. When informed we ran out of shower soap, she gave us a whole new good quality set. Host helped to arrange transfer to Lijiang and even personally took and waited with us for the coach in the rain. Location of this hotel is great. Food everywhere. It is set back in a small alley so is quiet at night. Minutes walk away from Dali ancient city with gate. Right opposite the fruit market. Room also has a big TV screen and powerful air conditioner. The hot water is immediate and the shower is powerful. There is laundry facilities too. Thank you very much to the host for making our first trip to Dali memorable."

"The place is stunning and the people were extremely kind. Our room was so nice we spent most of our holiday inside. Every night we also received a different snack (milk and cream puffs, milk and oats, etc.) beyond the snacks (fruit and some candy) you receive every day. We also picked the breakfast option, it was very Chinese (noodles or a sandwich with fruit and other small things), but extremely delicious ( especially the noodles). Their coffee was always great and they allow for you to have the breakfast in your room if you make a request. Whenever we had a problem they would help us out and they also picked us up from the train station and dropped us off. I have a lot more to say about the place, but I lack the words. Experience it for yourself."

SSummer.LngLocation: Located mid-mountain in Erdong, it's very quiet and pleasant, perfect for those who demand quality accommodations. The entire room faces Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, offering a panoramic view of the entire expanse, a truly refreshing experience. Lying on the balcony in a rocking chair, admiring the blue sky and white clouds, Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, is truly a true delight. Of course, due to the location, it's recommended to rent a car or take a taxi. There are few nearby restaurants, so dining is usually done in-house or by car.
Facilities/Decoration: This B&B is a boutique establishment, with a small number of rooms, each with an elevator. Yunxi's room takes up the entire 5th floor and is very spacious. The interior decor shows the owner's meticulous attention to detail. However, the pockmarked marble flooring feels a bit out of place with the overall style (perhaps I just don't appreciate it).
Service: The host and housekeeper were very welcoming, responsive, and welcoming. The lady who taught us how to use the washing machine and where to hang clothes was very patient and gentle, which was highly appreciated.
Meals: Both the afternoon tea and breakfast were excellent. The dining environment is also very comfortable.
Other: The hotel's cat is super cute, but it's a shame I couldn't hold it. QwQ🐱
Areas for improvement:
1. A sensor light could be installed next to the tatami mats; it's too dark in the bathroom at night and you might fall.
2. A minibar could be provided with a small selection of drinks, and tea bags could also be provided.

GGRACEOur stay at Dali Xingmai Mountain and Sea View Homestay was pleasant overall and a good value for its price, especially if you're seeking a peaceful retreat in the quieter part of Dali. Traveling as a family, we were looking for a place that offered serene sea views, and this homestay mostly delivered on that. While there is some ongoing construction in front of the building that slightly affects the view, the surrounding scenery is still beautiful and calming. The cleanliness of the homestay was satisfactory, and it offers a good range of amenities. The kitchen, in particular, is well-equipped, making it a great option for families or groups of friends planning to cook and enjoy meals together. However, if you're simply traveling for leisure and don't plan to spend much time at the homestay, you may find the kitchen unnecessary. One thing to note is that there is no central air conditioning or heating system. The homestay provides a bed warmer (which works well) and a small air-conditioning unit in the living room, but the bedrooms can get quite chilly at night, especially during winter. It's something to consider if you're visiting during colder months. In terms of location, this homestay is ideal if you're looking to unwind in a quiet and restful environment. However, for those planning a busy schedule with visits to Dali's main attractions, the distance might be a drawback. The homestay is located in a residential area, and getting to most tourist spots can take 45-60 minutes by car, whether you're heading to the west or east side of Erhai Lake. There are also no nearby F&B stores except one small restaurant in the building next door so make sure you eat in the city areas before coming back to the inn. That said, if you're staying for a longer duration and prefer a relaxed, free-and-easy itinerary, this could be a suitable choice given its amenities like the kitchen and laundry facilities. It's also worth mentioning that this homestay feels more like an Airbnb than a traditional inn. It's situated in a residential building, with the entrance being a carpark and access through an elevator to a residential unit. There’s no lobby, service counter, or common areas. Instead, check-in and assistance are handled through WeChat. Despite some of the drawbacks, the service here truly stood out. The staff member assisting us was incredibly kind, prompt, and accommodating. Whenever we had questions or faced minor issues, she responded quickly and made every effort to resolve them, which helped make our trip smoother. Her attentiveness and helpfulness were a highlight of our stay and left a positive impression. While this homestay may not have been our favorite, the excellent service and peaceful setting make it a decent choice for travelers prioritizing quiet and self-sufficiency over convenience and luxury.
我们在大理落日山海海景民宿（洱海店）的整体入住体验还算愉快，性价比也不错，特别适合那些想在大理寻找一处安静避世之地的旅客。我们主要希望找到一个可以俯瞰大海、环境清幽的地方，这家民宿基本满足了我们的需求。虽然楼前有一些施工，稍微影响了景观，但周边的风景依然很美，很令人放松。 民宿的清洁度令人满意，且设施齐全。厨房尤其设备完善，非常适合家庭或朋友团队入住，大家可以一起烹饪和用餐。不过，如果您只是来大理休闲旅游而不会花太多时间待在民宿里，厨房的实用性可能就不大了。 需要注意的是，这家民宿没有中央空调或供暖系统。房间里提供了电热毯（效果不错）以及一个小型空调，但空调只在客厅使用，冬天的时候卧室会有些寒冷。如果您在寒冷季节入住，这一点需要特别留意。民宿位于一个住宅区，从这里到大理的大多数景点开车平均需要45到60分钟，无论是前往洱海西还是海东。此外，周边没有什么餐饮店，仅有隔壁楼内的一家小餐馆。所以建议您在回到民宿前先在市区用餐。不过，如果您计划长时间停留或想要悠闲地度过假期，这里的设施（如厨房和洗衣设备）会让您的入住更加舒适。 另外，这家民宿更像是Airbnb，而不是传统的旅馆。民宿位于一栋住宅楼中，入口是一处停车场，需要乘电梯到达房间所在的单元。这里没有前台、大堂或公共区域。所有的入住手续和服务都通过微信完成。尽管有一些不足之处，民宿的服务确实值得称赞。负责接待我们的工作人员非常友善、迅速且乐于助人。无论我们有什么问题或遇到什么小麻烦，她都及时回应并尽力帮我们解决，这让我们的旅程顺利了不少。她的细心和贴心服务是此次入住的一大亮点，也给我们留下了深刻的印象。虽然这家民宿不是我们的最爱，但出色的服务和安静的环境让它成为了一个还算不错的选择，适合那些更看重宁静和自给自足，而不是便利和豪华的旅客。

DDELWYNTI had an amazing stay at Anyu Dali, and their hospitality truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, assisting us with our luggage and even coordinating with the Didi driver when we were rushing to catch our railway. They went above and beyond by providing weather updates for our next destination, Lijiang, and noticing that we were unprepared for the cold, they thoughtfully gave us heat pads.
As first-time guests, we were treated to complimentary afternoon tea and breakfast, as well as four free laundry items for washing. The welcome gift was a lovely touch, and they even prepared a warm nighttime drink before bedtime, making our stay feel extra special. What really stood out was their attention to detail—even knowing that we would be staying at Anyu Lijiang next, they arranged to give us our farewell gift there, considering our luggage was already full.
The level of service here surpasses that of many well-known hotels, and I will definitely choose Anyu again the next time I visit China. Highly recommended for those who appreciate genuine hospitality!

JJane.TI recently stayed at a hotel in Dali, Yunnan, and had an overall pleasant experience. The cleanliness of the room and common areas was impressive — everything was well-maintained and tidy, which made the stay comfortable and relaxing.
The service stood out as one of the highlights. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with directions or local recommendations. They made check-in and check-out smooth and stress-free.
But would like to comment on the photoshooting service that this hotel provided, although they stated it’s free, but each room ONLY FREE 5 PIECES NON EDIT photos no matter how many days you stay. So please don’t ask for this service if you don’t want your pocket to have a hole 🤣, would recommend you to have the traditional costume shoot in Lijiang or Shangrila which will cost in cheaper price where they can provide costume rental and full make up. This hotel they charge a very high price for the photoshooting if you want to buy the photos from them.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lijiang, if they like photoshooting. Or else you can stay in other better choices hotels.

You can drink tea in the afternoon and look at the bottomless sea on the terrace. The room facilities are very good, equipped with a Dyson hair dryer. The toiletries should also be branded and easy to use. There are also electric cars available to go around the sea nearby, recommended!

XXiaoyang121Very good, very cost-effective, the hotel is located on the Erhai Sea, close to the ecological corridor, a few minutes walk to the Erhai Sea, surrounded by natural landscapes such as redwood forests, goose* stone beaches, not only from the dust, but also suitable for cycling, walking and viewing. It is also close to the ancient city, Longqi Wharf and other places, and the transportation is convenient. The room is spacious and bright, the sound insulation effect is good, the view is wide, and the room can see the view of the Bohai Corridor. Suitable for daze and taking pictures. The hotel owner and warm and friendly, there is a parking lot shuttle bus pick-up service, providing itinerary planning, attraction recommendations and car rental and other intimate help. The homestay is quiet in the middle of noisy, the surrounding environment is quiet, suitable for like to relax and enjoy nature. There is not a lot of traffic around, and the noise of excessive commercialization is avoided. All in all, it was a great experience.

RR.T.xDuring my recent stay at this hotel I had an excellent experience. The hotel itself was modern and spacious, offering all the comfort I needed. It was also located just outside the ancient town, which was only a short five-minute walk away, making it very convenient. There were also plenty of food options nearby, so I never had to worry about where to eat (thought honestly even if the restaurants nearby are not your liking it’s quite easy to get food delivered using one of the food delivery apps).
What truly set this place apart was the exceptional service from the manager. She was genuinely friendly and incredibly helpful, going out of her way to ensure I had a great stay. Since I arrived two days before the May Day holiday, she advised me to plan my trip around Er Hai Lake a day early to avoid the holiday crowds. I’m so grateful for this advice because my trip around the lake was smooth and enjoyable, with minimal crowds. By the time I was heading back to the hotel, I could already see the traffic building up with the incoming holiday tourists and I can only imagine how bad the traffic was around the lake the next day. According to the driver it is not uncommon to encounter standstill traffic at around parts of the lake requiring around 2-3 hours to clear during the peak periods.
Not only did she provide valuable advice, but she also arranged a driver for my lake trip on very short notice, and at a price much better than what I could find elsewhere. Her local knowledge didn’t end there—she recommended great places to eat and gave me tips on where to buy local specialties and what to avoid, which really helped me make the most of my time in Dali. One general tip would be to be selective of the stores in the ancient town as they might not offer the best value.
I would however recommend adding the hotel on WeChat prior to arriving just in the event that you encounter some difficulty in locating the hotel since it is not located along the main road, there is however direct road access to the main door of the hotel.
Overall, the hospitality here was outstanding, and I genuinely felt well taken care of. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dali.

GGuest UserBeautifully designed hotel with excellent high level views of Erhai. The room interiors are also toddler friendly - the bedside tables have chamfered edges (no sharp corners). They gave a super cute Pullman giraffe plushie too that was very good quality. Kid loved it so so much.
More on the room tho. Really beautiful, very relaxing. Really nice seating area in front of the windows, I didn't want to check out. I didn't even want to leave the room during the stay.
Breakfast buffet spread was also very delicious. Ate two bowls from the noodle bar and a bit of everything else in one sitting.

TT.W.LBooked the family room at courtyard level as I had elderly and wanted an accommodation which is easy to access. I also did not want to be hoisting luggages up and down and over cobbled streets in the old town and somewhere along the city wall so it is easy to start our tour of the sights around Dali in the morning.
Room: Simple efficient clean layout with open concept. Rooms are relatively new. Sink area is located outside the bathroom which is good. The beds are hard in my opinion but elder felt the bed was comfortable. Bottled water was provided everyday (left outside our door). Room Temperature control was ok and the hot water for the shower heated up quick and could maintain at a stable level which is a plus unlike some other hotels in Yunnan.
There is flight of 3-4 steps to room which is manageable for our elder as the room is slightly raised above the courtyard. We had an early check-in as the room was ready. The staff helped us move the luggages to our room. You could also book the entire courtyard for larger groups. The owner is building additional new rooms in the annex but the construction happens during the day and it is not noisy as most guests would be out.

It is near the South Gate (there is a local market nearby check the maps or ask the owner) and our local driver could stop right outside our accommodation.
We didn’t get breakfast from the bnb as there were food shops offering noodles, congee and fried dumplings around that open early at 7am. You can also make your way to the local market near the gate. You could also go up the South Gate for free to catch the sunrise or sunset view.
Touring around Dali
If you can comms in Chinese, you could message the owner ahead to assist to arrange for a car transfer from Dali Fengyi Airport or the Dali Railway station to the BnB. It cost RMB50 for us from the Railway station to the BnB. You could also arrange with him for a day driver to take you around the sight seeing places around Dali /Erhai Lake, Mt Cang or a driver to send you to Lijiang. We felt was more efficient and relaxing with an elder. It took ~3h drive instead of travelling south to the Dali train station to ride the train to Lijiang and finding a cab from Lijiang railway to the old Lijiang ancient city.
You could also easily catch a Didi or a cab which could be cheaper. A cab/car ride to the 3 Chong Sen Temple pagodas was about 10rmb for 3-4pax which is comparable to waiting for Bus 4 which cost 3rmb per pax.

I’ve stayed in multiple 4-5 star hotels across China over the past month, but the gourmet food here easily surpassed them all. Every bite was thoughtfully prepared, leaving me in awe of the flavors and quality.
The location of Sunyata Homestay is also perfect. It’s just far enough from the bustling crowds to remain peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to Dali Ancient City that it’s only a few steps away from great eateries and the heart of the ancient town. The balance is ideal for anyone seeking convenience without sacrificing tranquility.
A special shout-out to the young lady working in the coffee shop up front—her coffee is unparalleled! My husband, who is a daily coffee drinker and rarely impressed, couldn’t stop raving about her brews. It was, hands down, the best coffee we had during our travels.
The staff here deserve every bit of praise. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. However, what truly sets Sunyata apart is the incredible owner. My father had a bad accident in Dali on a rainy day, and I can honestly say I don’t know what I would have done without his support. Despite my limited Mandarin, he spent an entire day accompanying me to the hospital, ensuring we were well cared for and understood. The next day, he went out of his way to pick up the CT scans for us. His kindness and compassion left me speechless.
The owner’s dedication to his guests is reflected in his amazing team, all of whom go above and beyond. Without his help, I would have had to cut my trip to China short. Instead, he turned a difficult situation into one where we felt supported and cared for like family.
Sunyata Homestay is truly one of a kind, and I will forever be grateful for their hospitality. This is not just a place to stay; it’s a haven of comfort, care, and culinary delights. Thank you, Sunyata, for everything!
