This stay was absolutely perfect. The hotel has 10 floors and boasts an elegant and refined French decor throughout; the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a wonderful ambiance. What truly touched me was the service. I wasn't feeling well during my stay, and the staff not only proactively showed concern but also specially came to my room door to collect my laundry and help wash it. Any request was met with an immediate response; they were genuinely as caring as family. The breakfast also deserves praise – a wide variety and delicious! The best part is that for such a high-quality experience, the price was incredibly reasonable, offering excellent value for money. Next time I visit this city, I'll definitely choose this hotel again!

The room was clean and tidy, and the facilities were complete. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, and the cleaning was done thoroughly. Breakfast was good. The Shuangqiao Night Market Street is right outside, which is very lively. Highly recommend!

The owner was very kind; she helped me carry my things. I slipped and fell on the rainy day because of the puddles, which initially put me in a bad mood, but her help made me feel much better. Traveling back from Lijiang, I chose the Howard Johnson Life Hotel in Kunming, mainly because of its close proximity to Shuangqiao Night Market, making it super convenient for exploring and dining. The hotel's overall design is quite stylish. I booked a comfortable king room; it wasn't huge, but it was cozy, clean, and very comfortable to stay in. I especially want to praise the front desk service! We arrived in Kunming on an early morning train around 5 AM, and got to the hotel at 4 PM, which was still before the standard 2 PM check-in time. The front desk lady was incredibly thoughtful and arranged an early check-in for us right away, even throwing in five complimentary breakfasts. Otherwise, we would have been stuck waiting with all our luggage, which would have been exhausting. This gesture really saved us a lot of trouble and made our experience fantastic. Breakfast was pretty standard for a city hotel – decent quality and taste. My only minor regret is that the afternoon tea selection was a bit limited with not many options. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you're looking to visit Shuangqiao Night Market; its location is a huge advantage.

The room was spotless, the mattress comfortable, and the duvet soft. The air conditioning was perfectly cool. The front desk staff, especially the lady, was very kind. The cleaning auntie proactively asked if I needed room cleaning and offered bottled water and tissues. The automatic toilet was a highlight – it flushed itself, had a heated seat, and the hotel even provided disposable toilet seat covers. The soundproofing was also excellent; I stayed for seven days and didn't hear a peep from next door.

If you like street food this is a good option for you. It’s situated near the kunming night market. The whole 12 th floor of a commercial building is converted into hotel rooms. It’s tricky to find. The DiDi driver left me at the entrance of the night market which is a km away. That’s DIDis fault. The hotel manager is very nice and helpful. The projector TV is fun for music videos.

It rained for three days straight in Kunming, but I finally got to enjoy socks without worry at this hotel! The washer and dryer were even better than mine at home; I could wash my socks at night and wear them the next morning. The lady at the breakfast noodle stall saw me hesitating over my bowl and promptly prepared a local-style version for me – it smelled amazing! The large window in my room faced a lush green area; with the window closed, it was as quiet as a library. The receptionist was always smiling as she passed by, and when I asked for directions, she drew me a hand-drawn map – her handwriting was messy, but incredibly useful. The delivery robot could take the elevator by itself; I bumped into it several times in the hallway, and it always seemed to know the way better than I did. The bedding was so soft you didn't want to move. I stayed three nights, and every day when I came back, the towels were neatly folded, and they'd even coiled up the charging cable I'd left on the table – a detail-oriented person's delight. Oh, and the freshly brewed coffee in the lobby was delicious, just as good as Luckin Coffee. I sat by the revolving door with my paper cup, watching the rain for half an hour – that's probably the relaxing feeling of traveling. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Kunming. It's rare to find a place where even someone as forgetful as me can be so well taken care of.

Very close to Kunming Railway Station, about a 15-minute bike ride. There's a night market right downstairs, which is really lively. Even if you head out at 6 AM, you can still grab a bowl of noodles. I really love these small, cozy places; they have a warm, homey feel.

The room was really spacious, and I loved that the toilet, shower, and sink were all separate – very convenient. There was even a Tmall Genie smart speaker to control the curtains and TV. Everything was clean and tidy. The location was great too, right above a night market. Because of the night market, there's some traffic control in the evenings, so if you call a taxi, you'll have to walk a short distance to meet it, but it's not too far. The hotel also has a laundry room with washers and dryers. The front desk staff, security, and cleaning crew were all super friendly and always eager to help with any issues. I later found out one of them was the owner – big thanks to her for all her help!

This was my first time staying at a Hilton, so let me start with the positives. It's a 52-story building with excellent views, and the elevators are fast and smooth. The lobby is elegant and grand. From my room, I could watch the sunrise in the morning and the city lights at night. Even with the window open, I could barely hear any noise from downstairs. The corridor's color scheme is fresh, bright, and clean. Inside the room, the TV offers screen mirroring, there's a night light, and the curtains are electric. Surprisingly, there was even an electric height-adjustable desk, though I didn't use it so I can't comment on its effectiveness. The hand soap and lotion were pleasant, with a fresh, non-greasy scent. Things that could be improved: it would be great to have a shoehorn, and some stirrers next to the coffee machine in the restaurant. Some less positive aspects: The toilet flush was incredibly loud, audible both inside and outside the room, to the point where it would startle you if you used the restroom in the middle of the night. There was some dust accumulation around the table and TV cabinet that wasn't well-cleaned. The pillows were too high and not as comfortable as those at Atour. The sink was a bit high, making it easy to splash water on your clothes when washing your face. The room itself wasn't very spacious. There's no restroom near the gym entrance. The breakfast lacked any brand distinctiveness; it was very ordinary. The spicy chicken was too hard, and the beef noodles with red soup were very spicy. The floor around the noodle station was sticky. The fruit selection was identical for two days, and there wasn't much variety in other dishes. The most significant drawback was the lack of dining options nearby. The Longhu Tianjie mall downstairs is opening on September 25th, so the area downstairs was under heavy construction, leading to dust and dirt everywhere. The roads were also clogged with electric scooters. I guess I just came at the wrong time, and hopefully, things will improve once the mall opens.
