Arrived at the hotel in the early hours, and the warm smile from the friendly front desk staff instantly brightened up the gloomy rainy day. The hotel is conveniently located near the North Gate of the ancient city, right on the street, making transportation very easy. This was my first time trying Atour's bedding, and it was indeed incredibly comfortable! They even placed a poetry book by the bedside, which I look forward to reading properly on a future visit. Unfortunately, at 8 AM, the street's garbage truck began playing music loudly and continuously. Even the thoughtful earplugs provided by Atour couldn't block out the deafening sound. However, if you're an early riser and up before 8 AM, it wouldn't be an issue! On the morning of check-out, I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of snow-capped mountains from the corridor!
This is such a bad review! I don't want to come back to this place anymore.
As someone who has never written a bad review, I'm so angry.
Staying here feels incredibly humiliating, for the following reasons:
1. Upon check-in, I requested an upgrade, but was told only members could get one. I said I'd been a member until '26, and they offered to renew it until '27. I said no, and they said I couldn't get an upgrade without their membership.
2. My room card didn't work twice. I went to the front desk, and they dismissively said they'd re-swiped it and it was working. They showed no apology for the inconvenience. When I asked why it kept failing, they said the hotel had just opened and they hoped I'd understand. It's hilarious. Do I have to understand your mistakes?
3. The Coke in the refrigerator was open. I asked the front desk, but they were skeptical, saying, ”That's impossible,” as if I'd drunk it myself and was blaming others. They then brought me two more bottles.
4. The funniest part was that after checking out, I had to go to the train station and couldn't get a taxi for nearly an hour. I asked, and they said they could help, but they'd charge me 100 yuan for the normal 20-something fare. I was in a hurry, so I agreed. To my surprise, the front desk staff was driving us around in their own car, earning extra cash.
Facilities: Brand new and well-equipped.
Cleanliness: Generally good. While there are ”No Smoking” signs in the corridors, the presence of trash bins with ashtrays unfortunately encourages guests to smoke in the enclosed hallways.
Environment: The hotel boasts an excellent location. It offers a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere, a quiet retreat despite being in a lively area, and is very convenient for getting around.
Service: The staff are warm and welcoming, and their professionalism is satisfactory.
It was my first time in Lijiang, Yunnan. The drifting island design that was different from Atour Bamboo Residence attracted me when I entered the lobby. The guest rooms have a youthful sea and sky blue design element, as if I were on an island. Atour's characteristic bedding made me sleep very comfortably, especially after playing tired, the water temperature in the shower room was just right, which made me wash very comfortably. The scenery in Lijiang is so beautiful that I can't bear to leave. Sitting outside the window and looking at the beautiful scenery made me lose the anger that I had accumulated for a long time as a worker! The waffles for breakfast are really my favorite. I like them so much. The late-night porridge at night also solved my dilemma of not knowing what to order for takeout at night.
