GGuest UserI used to stay in hotels, but this time, wanting to better experience the local culture in Lijiang Old Town, I chose a guesthouse. From the moment we checked in, the owner, like a friend, brewed us tea and offered us flower cakes and dried beef. As soon as we entered our room, the daily afternoon tea set arrived: tiramisu tarts made with real cream, fresh and crisp strawberries and blueberries, and freshly cut cantaloupe and watermelon. I'm very sensitive to smells, and the room's air freshener and toiletries had a scent similar to Le Labo, which was lovely. The room offered great views of the snow-capped mountains. The guesthouse's location on the main street was perfect – lively but quiet. Even as a light sleeper, I was never disturbed by the street noise. Whenever I stayed elsewhere in Yunnan, I unconsciously compared it to this place. This guesthouse is truly my 'white moonlight' in Yunnan, and I'll never consider another option when I come to Lijiang again. Many thanks to the manager for the pick-up, help with luggage, and recommendations for various local specialty restaurants, and to the owner for her warm hospitality and sophisticated taste. The guesthouse serves breakfast; the auntie's rice noodles were generously topped, and the owner's cat, Aobai, is both cute and sassy :)

GGuest UserTook my mom out for a trip and saw Aling's live stream on Douyin. She came across as very practical, genuine, and unpretentious, so we decided to stay for a few days. Overall, it was a really good experience. As soon as you enter the courtyard, there's a water feature with koi fish, which gives a vibrant and lively feel. The two young men working there were incredibly attentive and patient in answering our questions, and their demeanor was very refined. We also had the good fortune to meet a compatible travel couple, Sister Liu and her husband, at Aling's place. It felt like such a serendipitous encounter for people from the north and south to meet here. In the evening, we gathered in Aling's courtyard to chat, drink tea, and share our travel experiences. It was truly delightful. Thank you, Aling, for bringing us all together!

Kkhaw yee niThe environment is very comfortable, and the front desk staff was super helpful, even carrying our luggage upstairs for us! It's also really convenient for exploring; you can walk to Baisha Ancient Town in just a few minutes. Getting to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is easy too, a taxi ride takes about 30 minutes if there's no traffic. Our room had a beautiful view of the snow-capped mountains 🏔️, and there's an adorable dog named Sanjin ❤️. Plus, the breakfast was delicious!

GGuest UserOur first stop in Yunnan gave us a fantastic experience!
The free airport pickup was super reliable. The driver contacted us in advance and was already waiting for us at the exit. The car was clean and tidy.
Upon arriving at the Old Town entrance, staff were already there waiting. They transported our luggage by tricycle, and a staff member walked us to the guesthouse, introducing us to its facilities and offering travel tips along the way.
The room was spacious and well-equipped. Both beds were huge, and the bathroom was also massive. It was very comfortable and roomy for two adults and two children. There was both underfloor heating and air conditioning, which was a real plus as Yunnan nights in winter can be quite chilly. The underfloor heating made it much cozier.
From some angles on the second floor, the view overlooking the Old Town was excellent. The panoramic shot of the Old Town in the pictures was taken from there.
Shifang Street, which is very lively, is just a short walk from the guesthouse. Mufu and the Grand Waterwheel are also within walking distance. It truly lives up to the saying, 'step out into bustling streets, return to peaceful serenity.'
The afternoon tea every day was exquisite, especially the latte – I absolutely loved the delicate latte art! Breakfast was served until 11 AM, which was perfect for us 'lying flat' travelers.
There are so many guesthouses in the Old Town, it was overwhelming choosing one, but I'm so glad we picked this one. Highly recommended! 👍

SShidaixixiaobeiThis is hands down the best guesthouse/hotel in Lijiang. The design is excellent, and the surrounding scenic area is beautiful.
The service was very responsive, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. They even offered toasts during dinner, which was a nice touch.
There's unlimited complimentary fruit, and a complimentary dinner set menu is also provided.
Horse riding is conveniently located right next door.
Fireplaces are available in the rooms and can be lit upon request.
Now, for areas that could be improved:
The price I paid was 2180, which puts it on par with four or five-star hotels. However, the toiletries provided were very basic. Perhaps my expectations are high, but another hotel I stayed at in Lijiang during this trip offered toiletries that were much more fitting for its price point.
Regarding insects and flies, I understand that being surrounded by nature means there will be bugs, but it was still a bit off-putting at times.
Secondly, there were some minor details that could be improved. I saw staff carrying used linens through the hallways, and there wasn't a clear separation between the kitchen prep area and the dining room. While this gives it a homey, 'down-to-earth' feel, it doesn't quite align with a 2000+ price tag.
I drove myself, so getting around was easy, but I imagine it would be less convenient without a car.

GGuest UserThe room was pretty good, with a nice view overlooking the old town. The hotel also has direct access to a viewing platform, which offers amazing views! There are a lot of steps in the old town, but the staff were really helpful and carried our luggage for us. Breakfast was also quite good, though we only managed to wake up early enough to have it once.

AAnonymous UserThe Courtyard Mansions is an elegant and peaceful place, just a few minutes from the main road, making it very convenient for getting around. The ancient city is beautiful, especially as dusk falls and the lights come on, it becomes even more vibrant. When the bonfire lights up, people gather at Sifang Street to dance, and tourists enthusiastically join in, dancing in a circle. It was a joyful trip.

GGuest UserBooked a six-night stay in a mountain-view villa for my family. The views were stunning, the rooms were spotless, the air was fresh, and the service was attentive. There were plenty of activities, and the airport transfers were perfectly on time. My whole family had an absolute blast!
My favorite part was watching the little white geese and ducklings swimming freely in the lake 𓅿𓅹 – they were incredibly cute! In the early morning, you could also witness the magnificent 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' spectacle. Breakfast was delicious, especially the Ersi noodles, which were truly unforgettable.
The staff were always warm and thoughtful, bringing us different special snacks every day, like rose cakes, roasted potatoes, and milk cheese… Each day brought a new surprise! My family also had a deep dive into traditional culture at the hotel, including the Naxi blessing ceremony, recycled paper making, and Dongba calligraphy and painting. It was both professional and fascinating! For those who love traditional culture, this is definitely not to be missed.

GGuest UserThe room facing the street was quite quiet, which was nice. The front desk has a coffee machine, and you can ask the staff to prepare drinks for you as needed.
The front desk staff was very enthusiastic and proactively offered us travel advice. Parking allows one exit within a 24-hour period, so plan your outings accordingly.
It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the Old Town Windmill, maybe because I walk a bit slowly, but it's definitely not just a few minutes away.
The room is equipped with smart home features, and the quality of items like tissues is quite good, showing that the owner has high standards for the amenities provided.

GGuest UserI came to Lijiang just to see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and choosing Wangshanxue was absolutely the right decision! I stayed in a snow mountain view room, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered an unobstructed view directly facing the snow mountain. In the morning, I didn't have to rush to find a spot; I just pressed a button to open the electric curtains and watched the 'golden snow-capped mountain' phenomenon from the comfort of my bed, wrapped in a blanket. The entire process, from pink hues to golden, was incredibly therapeutic. The whole room had underfloor heating, which was super warm, so walking barefoot on the floor was comfortable. The bathroom also had underfloor heating—the attention to detail was excellent. The hotel is located next to Baisha Ancient Town, which is quiet and peaceful. Stepping out, you get a taste of local life, but returning to the hotel, you're greeted by the tranquil snow mountain view. It truly felt like a perfect vacation!
