This hotel is our lucky hotel! We ended the bitter wind and rain in Switzerland here and finally saw the Matterhorn! This hotel itself is also great. The interior layout and design are very cleverly using the elements of the Matterhorn. Moreover, we only made a temporary reservation at 6 or 7 last night. The lady at the front desk upgraded our room type. The room is so big and has a large balcony. There are free coffee and tea in the room. Their breakfast is also great. Because I was in a hurry to go up the mountain in the morning, I didn’t take any photos, but the breakfast is very rich, with various fresh fruits such as strawberries and kiwis, freshly fried meats such as bacon and grilled sausages, as well as vegetables such as broccoli and mushrooms, as well as various breads, juices and milk, and even freshly squeezed orange juice. You can also go to the bar and order a cappuccino. In short, you can eat very satisfying! The best thing is that this hotel also has a pick-up service. We originally had to drag the big box to the train station for more than ten minutes, and the small car took us directly there. It took a few minutes and arrived super fast! I promise that I will definitely stay at this hotel next time I come to Zermatt!

The location is excellent and conveniently within walking distance of the main street, the Bahnhof, and several scenic viewpoints. The lovely ladies at the front desk kindly helped us prepare the sofa bed as a separate bed, so my friend and I didn’t have to share one. We stayed on the fifth floor, and the view from our windows was beautiful, you can even watch the sunrise over the Matterhorn. Breakfast was simple but sufficient, and we also appreciated being allowed a late check-out. The only downside was the shower, as the water temperature would suddenly become very hot without warning, which was quite shocking and uncomfortable.

Overall, the hotel itself met expectations in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and facilities. Everything about the physical stay was enjoyable. However, the experience was significantly let down by the level of customer service. Switzerland has a strong reputation for hospitality, which made this even more disappointing. The reception staff, in particular, came across as unwelcoming and disengaged. There was no warmth, no greeting upon arrival, and interactions felt more like we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests. The lack of sincerity and basic courtesy created an uncomfortable atmosphere throughout our stay. It’s a shame because this could have been a near-perfect experience. With even a modest improvement in attitude, kindness, and understanding of what true hospitality means, this hotel could easily leave a much better impression. As it stands, the poor customer service overshadowed what was otherwise a pleasant stay.

The hotel is uniquely located right along the Gornergrat railway line, about a 3-minute walk from Riffelberg station. Perched on a snowy mountain, it offers stunning views. We were quite lucky during our stay; we saw the Matterhorn on the first day and it snowed on the second, which created a fantastic atmosphere on the mountain. If you're looking for snowscapes or a secluded, unique ambiance, this place comes highly recommended. The hotel's facilities are reasonably modern. Despite being an old building, the interior has been renovated to some extent, and the rooms are clean and tidy. As for the food, the taste was decent but nothing special, and the selection wasn't as extensive as we'd hoped. Our meal package included two dinners and two breakfasts. Dinner was mainly a buffet plus à la carte options, but the à la carte dishes weren't very diverse and the taste was just so-so. The buffet was standard Western salad bar quality, but it tasted good. Breakfast was typical Continental fare. Don't go in with high expectations for the food. Regarding the much-advertised spa, we didn't have a great experience this time. The outdoor pool water was too cold and the indoor panoramic sauna was too hot, preventing us from fully enjoying either. We hope the hotel can increase the temperature of the outdoor pool.

Location was right in the middle of the city, super convenient! Nearby the Zermatt main station, as well as Gornergrat station! Supermarkets were walking distance away, and even food options were many like macdonalds, western food, etc. the receptionist was warm and friendly and even extended us for an early check in when rooms are available. The hotel was overall very cozy and clean, suitable for a short stay. The necessities are provided like soap, towels, hair dryer, tissue! Just note that there is no fridge in the room if that was your concern. Other than that, perfect stay!

We love the hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The view from the balcony of our room gave us a clear view of the Matterhorn. The hotel is easily accessible from the Zermatt train station and the Town centre . We loved the room allocated and found it extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed the sumptuous breakfast buffet which was pretty extensive. Staff was really pleasant and helpful at all time. Our receptionist even escorted us to the room by stairs because their lift was not functional when we checked in. The only regret was that we were unable to utilise the sauna and swimming pool facilities due to time constraints. Will highly recommend the hotel to those who are looking for value for money stays whilst in Zermatt.

They were kind enough to upgrade my room to a mountain view room and it was absolutely amazing, thanks to the weather being perfect. Breakfast buffet had a variety of selections and the food was fresh and yummy. They also provide you with a shuttle service to and from (i only used it for going to the train station because i was not aware this was an option) the train station which was really helpful. Rooms are pretty up to date and clean, I would def come back.

We had a pleasant stay at Zermatt Youth Hostel. The hostel is not very close to Zermatt train station, so walking there with luggage can be a little inconvenient. However, the Zermatt public bus is very convenient, and there is a bus stop right in front of the hostel, making it easy to get around without having to walk too far. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hostel has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. Although the location is not within walking distance of the train station, the convenient public bus connection makes it easy to reach the hostel. Overall, a good option for travellers looking for a comfortable and reasonably priced stay in Zermatt.
