Avant Mar Paros

"We stayed at Avant Mar with our two daughters (ages 21 and 18). The hotel is absolutely beautiful-modern yet serene, with a calming, Zen-like atmosphere. The flowers, architecture, and thoughtfully designed spaces made it such a relaxing place to unwind, especially by the lush lounges by the pool. We especially appreciated the heated adults only pool in the spa area. While we love children, the main pool occasionally became a bit noisy with kids playing, which sometimes interrupted the peaceful atmosphere we were hoping for. For couples or families with older children seeking a quieter experience, an older age minimum might enhance the ambiance, like making it a 16 year and older minimum. We also spent time relaxing at the beach lounge chairs, which we really enjoyed. Although the beach is public, Avant Mar has its own designated area with lounge chairs, and being able to order food and drinks directly to the beach was a fantastic touch. The beach itself is lovely, though the area around the lounge chairs could benefit from a bit more cleaning and raking. Breakfast, which was included, was delicious every morning. I highly recommend the avocado toast with scrambled eggs! We also ordered lunch by the beach, and service and the sandwiches were terrific. We had two rooms. The rooms are beautiful and modern, and we loved the Aesop toiletry products. My only downside was that the rooms felt quite small with very limited storage and unpacking space. There were few places to organize clothing, so thankfully I had packing cubes and mostly lived out of them on the floor during our stay. My daughters even had to store their luggage on the terrace due to limited space. That said, you really aren’t spending much time in the room because the location is outstanding. Avant Mar’s location was one of our favorite parts of the trip. We could easily walk into town within minutes to enjoy incredible restaurants, vibrant shopping, and fun nightlife. Most importantly, the staff was exceptional—attentive, courteous, friendly, and incredibly responsive. They helped with reservations, arranged taxis, answered every question, and truly made our stay seamless. Their hospitality could not have been better. We are so happy we chose Avant Mar and had a wonderful stay. We would absolutely recommend it for anyone looking for a stylish, relaxing hotel in an unbeatable location."

"For a premium price point/experience the hotel fell short for us. The private beach is average with more dirt than sand. Food quality was pretty average although we didn’t eat at the main restaurant. That said the pool area is really nice but definitely wouldn’t rush back."

"Wasn’t sure what to expect as we were driving around looking for this place but we were extremely impressed. The hotel is off the main road so it was a little hard to find. We were immediately greeted by someone helping us find a parking spot. This gentleman took our luggage to our room while we checked in. Angela at the front desk helped us arrange breakfast for the trip and made some great suggestions. She showed us to our room and explained how everything worked. The room was amazing. We had a private pool/hot tub which was great to use at night while looking up at the stars. You do need help turning on the heat if you choose to use that feature, just give the front desk a call and they can arrange it. We also lounged during the day while reading and enjoying the sun. The bed over the hot tub was perfect for two. Being off the beaten path was great for us because we were far enough away from the town that we didn’t hear anything, but it was only about a 5 minute walk in when we did venture out. The resort did have a pool but we did not need to use it. The property was beautiful and Angela and her team were amazing. I have already recommended this place to some family. 10/10 would definitely return."

And in the shower there was no place to put shampoo air shower gel so you had to leave them on the floor Very clean hotel and the very kind and helpful staff though."

"Quirky hotel two minutes walk from the old town. It's location couldn't be any better. We had a premium street view room which sadly did not live up to our expectations. The room was tiny with a double bed pushed against two of the walls making it impossible for one of us to get out of bed without disturbing the other. The toilet led directly off the room 3 foot away from the foot of the bed and it was impossible to close the door without standing by the side of the toilet with your back against the wall. Equally you could not open the balcony door with the window shutter open. The sink was in the bedroom and although we have been married for yonks neither of us want to watch each other prepare for bed. The balcony was almost the same size as the bedroom. We had a disastrous first night sleep as the bed sagged in the middle and we both kept rolling to the middle. In the morning I lifted the mattress and it appeared that half the wooden slats supporting the mattress were missing. Thankfully it was put right the following day. The pool area is small but nevertheless very comfortable and pleasing to the eye. Breakfast was a selection of dishes served to your table which were good and ample. We loved Paros and thought it was the best of the 5 islands we visited. It was a pity our room let it down and at £300 a night I expected more."
