"Rooms smell really bad. AC remote wasn't working, they fixed it. But biggest issue is, there is no Wifi guaranteed in the rooms, which is ridiculous. They say they list this on the website which means they have no intention of fixing it. In 2025, this is unacceptable, especially because my phone kept on 3g so I couldn't use that either, 3g roaming was unusable."

"There are soo many things that went wrong at this place. I will start at the beginning. My family (me, my husband and my kids) got there 4 days before the Hurricane (Beryl) and was told that the complex does not have Wifi. Every day they said it was going to be "repaired" the next day. We stayed 8 days and there was never any return in wifi. Beryl hit they did not tell us to prepare in anyway, no protocols, no flashlights, no candles, no anything!!! In fact finding a staff besides a security guard would have been a miracle. Ok so the hurricane came and that is when the real $h!t show began. Thankfully there was not much damage to the property, there was a broken tree and branches that were all around. That being said, it was a complete NIGHTMARE in service. There was NO RUNNING WATER, NO ELETRICITY, OF COURSE NO WIFI until I left 4 days after the hurricane!! THEY HAD NO GENERATOR FOR THE CONDOS!!!! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!!!!?????? They had one generator for the restaurant (which was closed!!!). How crazy is that??? There was leaks from the roof I had to get a mop and mopped up the place. There was no new towels, no change of sheets, no one came to clean, not even at least take out the garbage. It was terrible! I had to practically beg for a flashlight! The security guard Vernon lent me his. He said that is all he has. I was grateful for it but it was not very bright. Now by 8pm the entire condo is HOT, filled with mosquitos, pitch dark! The walk way (the grounds) was pitch dark (not even a lamp or solar light in sight), my son walked into a crab and then the crab was running all over and the kids got scared and it was just confusion because we could not see anything. Why not use the flashlight on our phone?? well with out electricity our phones were dead. There was no one to talk to, front desk was missing. We tried to go to another hotel but a lot of them were not accepting new guess due to the circumstances. Which makes sense. Tell me why NEGRIL BEACH HOUSE CONDOS accepted NEW GUESS knowing that they are not equip to! I felt horrible for them! They left a hotel with a generator and running water to come here and they did not inform them that they do not have electricity, running water or WIFI. We were lucky enough to have family on the island and went to stay with them (they had running water!! and a generator!!). We had no one to check out with, we just give the keys to the security guard. When we went to return the keys we saw quest going to the beach/ocean with pots and garbage bins to fetch water back to the apartment. I have been traveling 2-4x a yr for almost 15 yrs and NONE of my experiences ever came close to this. The amount of mosquito bites we all have is outrageous. I will NEVER EVER go back there! I suggest NO ONE goes there!!!! EVER!!!!"

"Absolutely had the best time at Rock House! There is not one thing I didn't love, and would recommend it in a heartbeat. Our room was the least expensive, and while small, met our needs. One day I'd love to stay in one of the villas overlooking the sea! Housekeeping was excellent. The grounds are expansive and the cliffside views and access to the water is amazing. You can just sit on a lounge chair all day looking out over the water. The staff is all gracious and wonderful. The guests are from all over, and everyone was kind and friendly. Rock House throws in a little extra something every day - one day a complimentary short massage, another day was free drinks by the pool, and every day we enjoyed happy hour from 5-6 p.m. Sunsets were awesome. Location was great and we walked to nearby restaurants - Sips and Bits, Ericka's, and Xtabi. Had breakfast at Rock House which was tasty. The location allowed us to get out and support more local businesses."

"Location is perfect. Beach is clean and food was good. Coffee unavailable unless it’s served at breakfast and the percolation machine in the room served lukewarm. Shower pressure low but the room was clean and cool."

Azul Beach Resort Negril ★★★★★
"The room decor is quite basic, but the direct pool access from the balcony is a definite plus. We checked in at 11 AM and booked three rooms, but two of them wouldn't open. It took a maintenance worker about an hour to fix them. The staff were polite, but the hotel facilities are very subpar. The hotel environment itself is decent."

"5th time visiting this hidden gem! Arrived with family and they were not disappointed. Private villas within feet of the calm Caribbean sea! My favorite bartender, Georgia was happily serving another family. We warmly embraced and I asked for my usual "Dirty Banana" thee best in all of Negril! Room accommodations at the Lower Jungle were perfect. Rooms were clean, cool and efficient for our needs! Book now you won't be disappointed! Staff feels like family!!"

Idle Awhile Resort ★★★
"For more detail, see below, but the short story is that we had a 5-night reservation at the White House suite and were unhappy enough to ask to be moved to a different room. We were lucky to be moved to a wonderful room at Idle Awhile Cliffs, where we stayed for 4 nights. I'll leave a separate review on the Cliffs since it deserves a very different rating. When I made our reservations for Idle Awhile Beach last spring, the only room available was the lower level of the White House suite (109). I was a bit concerned that all but 2 of the pictures on the hotel's website were of the upper suite (for the lower level see: one has a shot of the space with blue ceilings and the other is the kitchen with a gas range), but I assumed that they could not be that different. I was also fine with being located across the street from the beach and that the design of the White House looked different from the that of the main hotel, which seems really beautiful. There were some great things about Idle Awhile Beach: the staff are wonderful and really work hard to make you feel welcome - can't say enough good things about the folks who work here; everything we ate and drank at the restaurant was delicious; the beach and the grounds of the main hotel are beautiful. The reason we moved to the Idle Awhile Cliffs location after 1 night is due to the condition of the room. When we arrived, we noted that the room had at least a dozen mosquitoes, which made me check the screens and I noticed that many were torn. Since the White House is set a few lots back from the road among lush vegetation (and not exposed to any ocean breezes), the screens are important to have in this location. (Conversely, our room at the Cliffs location had no screens at all and we had no issue with mosquitoes as we had the breeze off the ocean.) We tried fixing one of the larger holes but after realizing how many needed repair we asked for tape to cover the openings. The staff kindly apologized and tried taping over the holes, noting that the screens needed to be replaced. We also noticed that the general condition of the room was shabby and in need of an overall update - peeling paint, cobwebs, stained surfaces, filthy range, broken trash can, rusted and/or missing window shade handles, worn furniture, etc. (see the attached pictures). The place just feels like neglected and it's depressing. While I was sitting on the bed, a screw fell out of the ceiling fan, making one of the blades come loose. Finally, I asked if they had any available rooms and they had one at the Cliffs location and we gladly and gratefully took it, figuring that we could visit the beach via the daily shuttle between the 2 locations. Overall, I don't think it's fair to market the lower level room as part of the main hotel. It implies a similar level of quality that is just not there. So, I would avoid the lower level of the White House unless you're getting a heavily discounted rate, which we weren't - there are many"

"attempted to rip me off to stay during the storm, first, they never returned my messages about getting stuck in Jamaica. so i came the office 2 times with no resolution. So Icall them the night before I check out at 6-7pm, and they say Sorry we can't offer you a room! So I try to leave and fly out, and LONG story short, I come back PRIOR to my check out time 9am - to regroup and find shelter. So they come and say - ok we have a room- I think they will do it at the same or less rate I paid... ohhh no - they tried to charge me 200 American per night!!!!"
