Hotel was a little old but well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel is a bit dated, but don’t let that fool you. My room came with private onsen. Didn’t visit the public onsen though

The shuttle service provided by the hotel was very convenient, we made good use of it everyday. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. Having a private bath was definitely a plus. Breakfast was excellent.

This hotel is located at higher point of Otaru. You can enjoy the scenery, the coldness and the quietness. Do include breakfast and dinner. Dinner is very romantic if you going with yr girl friend. She will be impressed Lunch can be arranged in the town. You can arranged transport with the hotel. Not to come back late

The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from JR Otaru Station. You can pre-book a shuttle service, which runs from 3 PM to 7 PM in the afternoon, and there are also morning shuttles available. We stayed for two days and used the shuttle bus daily, finding it very convenient. It's also conveniently located close to Otaru Aquarium, Shuku-tsu Observation Deck, and the Blue Cave. Perched on a hill overlooking the sea, the hotel boasts wonderful views, perfect for catching both sunrise and sunset. Guests staying at the hotel also receive a discount for Mount Tengu Ropeway. While the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, they are very well-maintained. Each room features a private hot spring tub with continuously flowing, clean water, which is a great convenience. We pre-booked dinner at the hotel, which offered a fusion of French and Japanese cuisine. There were two set menus to choose from, or à la carte options. The servers were dressed in suits, creating a formal dining atmosphere. We were told their dinner won second place in the 2024 Otaru Hotel Dining Competition, but honestly, I personally didn't feel it quite lived up to that acclaim. Still, it was decent overall.

The geographical environment is very good as we can visit the aquarium and the seaside.  Also we can go to Yoishi very easily.  But the restaurants food choices is a little bit narrow. In total, I like this hotel very much.

The hotel is a bit dated, but impeccably clean and very nice details. There is no old smell as per other reviewers and the view from Ocean Front Twin Room A was amazing! We also enjoyed the onsen a lot and will definitely recommend to anyone who is driving

A great hotel with stunning views and attentive service. They also provided convenient pick-up and drop-off for all our outings. I was very satisfied.

While the decor is a bit dated, the views are absolutely stunning. Situated on a mountain, the hotel offers incredible vistas of both mountains and the sea, along with hot spring facilities. As there are no other establishments nearby, dining is restricted to the hotel. Breakfast, a rather basic set menu, was underwhelming, though the fusion dinner was decent. The hotel's location is quite remote, near the aquarium, requiring a 15-20 minute drive to reach the canal and JR station. However, the hourly shuttle service can make things much easier – just be sure to book your pick-up/drop-off in advance.

The rooms are cozy. Highly recommend if you want a relaxing escape with a touch of nature!

Great scene and hotel with special castle feel. Good service and nice staff. Recommend to those interested parties better drive to there.

Old hotel

the hotel is located in the mountain with beautiful view. hotel room smelled old but big and clean. the private onsen in our room was great. the ocen view was fantastic and we faced Rainbow ocean since we saw several rainbow every mornings when we stayed. their staff.are very helpful, good and polite.
