GGuest UserThe price doubles and goes up. I have stayed in this hotel many times. It always feels good. I came here again after many years and felt that the overall service and the quality of the food in the hotel were much worse. In particular, the service may be understaffed during the peak season, but it is indeed a very good hotel. Be sure not to make any mistakes when booking a hotel, otherwise he will be unkind and only care about money!
GGuest UserThis is a long-standing Japanese hotel, very clean and comfortable, with no noise. The breakfast was excellent with many options, and the service was superb! Overall, it exceeded my expectations, and I'll definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserAbsolutely loved this hotel! The interiors are stunning and rooms are spacious and well decorated with ample amenities. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The breakfast spread was the best I’ve had in Japan … includes very good ala carte options as well.
Would definitely recommend to all visiting Kyoto.

MMiiiii08I brought my parents to Kyoto and we stayed at this hotel. The triple room was incredibly spacious, much larger than the double rooms I've stayed in before. It was clean and tidy, with excellent hygiene. The private onsen comes highly recommended! My parents also had a fantastic stay. All in all, it's a perfect score!
Service: Check-in was at 3 PM, and the front desk service was thoughtful and thorough. They explained the hotel facilities very clearly. (If you don't speak Japanese, there are staff who speak English.)
Facilities: It's a very traditional Japanese-style room, which my parents loved. The public bathing area was also very clean, and the private onsen was super comfortable. The hotel signage was clear, and every detail was meticulously thought out – really impressive!
Breakfast: The buffet breakfast offered a wide and diverse selection, with both Western and Japanese options, and plenty of delicious desserts! We were absolutely stuffed~

IIRADAThough the hotel itself is good (I’m staying here for a second time), this time the service was awful.1) went to breakfast, me and my friend ordered 2 dishes, when in 20 mins time there still was nothing, we reminded a waitress of our order… another 20 mins - still nothing. All in all we spent 40 mins at the breakfast restaurant and didn’t get our food. When we explained this to the hostess she just said “sorry” and we left the restaurant hungry. 2) ordered afternoon tea for 3 persons (afternoon tea is served at another restaurant at the hotel). 2 normal sets and 1 for a person who doesn’t like dairy products. That person is me. I explained that I have no allergy, I just don’t like the taste of milk, cheese, et cetera. So I’m fine with bread and with sweets, just not the ones that have cheese on top. In the end instead of the sweets they brought me a fruit platter (that’s all, my friends got a lot of different sweets), when I again explained to the hostess that I’m fine with sweets (sweet bread) and would like to eat the sweets included in the afternoon tea set she just said that they “prepared smth else” for me (she meant the fruit platter). No apology no anything. Mind you, I ordered afternoon tea last year at this same place - everything was alright! As this is a 5 star hotel and everything here is rather expensive (including breakfast and afternoon tea) this is unacceptable level if service.

FfongThe rooms are decent. There's a communal bath, which is kind of like a hot spring, though the water is just regular tap water – it was clean and hygienic. On the second floor, there's a ping-pong table, an all-you-can-drink bar, and a small kids' play area. It feels like a friendly little community. The staff are all polite and attentive.
There's an aquarium very close by, and the hotel has a back entrance for direct access. We didn't realize this until we walked all the way around in the rain!
There's a surface parking lot if you drive, costing 2500 yen per day for unlimited use, but the small road leading in can be a bit tricky to find.

MMumutu0417My Kyoto trip was particularly satisfying with this Kyoto townhouse. It had a garden, a private hot spring bath, and was brimming with Japanese charm. The breakfasts were especially delightful, with a wide variety and different dishes each day. After breakfast, there was also a traditional Kyoto matcha and carefully selected sweets; the owner even patiently explained the proper way to drink the matcha.
It's a bit far from the subway, but there are several bus stops nearby, making it quite convenient. Strolling along Kyoto's charming streets and discovering hidden gems of little shops was also a delightful experience.
GGuest UserI stayed at your hotel from January and am submitting this formal complaint regarding the unacceptable behavior of front desk staff member Mr. Wu.
Immediately after check-in, our room key did not work. Mr. Wu dismissed our concern without checking and repeatedly insisted the problem was ours, not the card. Only after visible irritation and reluctance did he come upstairs, where it was confirmed the key was faulty. No apology was offered.
Despite being informed that parking fees would be settled at checkout, approximately one hour after check-in (around 4:00 PM), Mr. Wu called our room while we were resting and demanded we come down because the parking fee had not been paid. This felt accusatory and deeply inappropriate.
Additionally, when asking a simple question about which parking card to use, Mr. Wu responded with audible sighs and a condescending attitude.
This conduct is entirely incompatible with professional hospitality standards.
I expect this matter to be taken seriously and appropriate disciplinary action to be taken.

IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves.
When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service.
The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point.
There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.

XXingfudeyanyanI was extremely satisfied with my stay this time. The room was prepared exactly as I requested, which I really appreciated. My room included executive lounge access, offering snacks, drinks, coffee, tea, and alcohol – a great place to sit and relax. The room facilities were meticulously maintained, and all appliances were quiet. My only minor complaint was the hairdryer, which was a bit old-fashioned and took a long time to dry my hair. The hotel staff, including the front desk and shuttle service, were exceptionally professional, very considerate, and provided excellent, personalized service. The shuttle bus stop at Kyoto Station is located behind the station, near the Hachijo East Exit, in the area where taxis and buses pick up passengers. It runs conveniently from 8 AM to 8:30 PM. You can see the exact location in my last two photos.
