The place was amazing! It was truly beautiful, especially the inner courtyard; I loved it so much! The staff was very friendly and helpful and introduced to me places worth visiting in the town.

Beautiful accommodation at North gate, reception are extremely helpful and propose great food and itinerary during our stay. We regretted going to the waterfall that took us 5 hrs single way but Wang house is amazing. The boss allowed us to check out very late maybe now is their low period due to school examination. Thks definitely worth staying.

Brand new hotel, very stylish and beautiful, it was renovated with high quality materials. The personnel is kind and helpful, they provided umbrellas for us for the rainy day. However sound isolation in between the rooms is a big problem, when someone goes to toilet in the next room it sounds like they are inside your room because of the air channels in between the rooms. And also there is a constant back noise like the sound of a fridge but there is no fridge inside the room! The room is a bit “too modern” for our taste, there was a mirror with a blue light that we had to cover with a towel and we had to turn off the “intelligent toilet” that also had a blue light and a sensor. Anyways too many lights and too much noise in the room. Unfortunately we regretted to have moved to this hotel and pay 20€ more per night compared to our previous hotel in Pingyao.

it was a bit hard to find (not exactly where it says on the map). friendly staff, knows no english at all so interaction was difficult. room was great & outdoor area beautiful

Couldn’t be more impressed with this hotel. One of the best places we’ve stayed at in terms of quality, hospitality and value for money. Hotel is stunning and historic. Rooms have beautiful traditional styling, yet have modern amenities which make them incredibly comfortable to stay in. Hosts were so welcoming and kind. They insisted on driving our bags to the taxi when leaving and we’re sorry we didn’t have time to take up their offer of tea before our train. Highly recommend this hotel!

I chose this B&B after reading reviews on Ctrip while on the direct bus from Datong Ancient City to Mount Wutai. The first 12 photos are all beautiful photos of the B&B taken by a handsome guy. 👍The last two photos were taken by a newbie, an old naughty boy. 😂It was our first time in our lives to have close contact with the earthen kang (kang bed). It was so much fun. 🤭The best thing was that we met the kind and lovely owner and his wife who picked us up. Thank you for your hard work. 🙏💐I am very happy to meet you in such a huge crowd. 🥳If you like to feel like home after strolling around Pingyao Ancient City, choose Yushengde. 😊We also had a super active cat, Yu Yu Mimi, come today. 🐱Thank you also to the ladies at the B&B for staying for two nights. The hotel environment is particularly good, with a very stylish design. The house is also very clean and tidy. It is very comfortable to live in. It is very close to the ancient city and has convenient transportation. The owner is very, very nice. I highly recommend this hotel for travel!

The room is very clean and convenient for travel. It is close to Beida Street. The owner is very service-oriented and can pick us up at the door. The decoration inside the inn is suitable for taking photos.

Check-in was convenient, and parking is free outside the ancient city. The owner was friendly and helpful with luggage pickup. The room was clean and tidy, the earthen kang (kang bed) was unique, and the bedding was spotless. The courtyard was pleasantly designed, perfect for selfies, and the environment was elegant. You can sit in the courtyard and chat over tea. I highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting Pingyao Ancient City. There were also photos of people wearing ancient costumes in the lobby, and they looked new and clean, along with a wide selection of headdresses. The owner's wife was pretty and welcoming.

The environment of the homestay is very good and unique. The owner is very nice and polite. He also gave me a can of Shanxi aged vinegar when I checked out. I would recommend it to friends who come to Pingyao Ancient City.

This B&B is fantastic, with a charming, quaint feel. It recreates the homes of prominent Shanxi merchants, giving me a glimpse into the daily lives of a young lady from a Shanxi merchant family. The owner, his wife, and the front desk staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The costume experience the owner's wife arranged was also perfect. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Pingyao. Highly recommended!

I've found this hidden gem of a hotel in the ancient city! I recently visited the ancient city and stayed at a truly amazing hotel. I absolutely have to recommend it to everyone! 🌆 Perfect Location: The hotel is right at the north gate of the ancient city, allowing you to explore the city as soon as you step out of the hotel. Popular attractions and food stalls are just a few minutes' walk away. This location is simply unbeatable, saving you a ton of time and energy. 👦 Superb Service: When I arrived at the north gate, the handsome front desk staff was already waiting for me. They not only helped me carry my luggage all the way to my room, but were also incredibly attentive. During check-in, they meticulously explained the room's amenities, hand-painted a food map of the surrounding area, and recommended many local specialties, which immediately helped me find my way around. 🏠 The Room and Courtyard Have an Antique Charm: Upon entering the hotel courtyard, a vibrant, ancient atmosphere washes over you. Every detail, from greenery and rockery to flowing water, exudes elegance. The room was even more surprising, with its wooden furniture and carved window lattices, it felt like a trip back to ancient times. The bed was perfectly firm, and the linens were clean and comfortable, making for a truly peaceful stay. 👘 Special Jin Dynasty Costumes for Young Lady Photography: I have to mention the hotel's Jin Dynasty Costumes for Young Lady Photography service. The costumes the hostess meticulously prepared were truly exquisite, both in fabric and workmanship, far superior to those rented on the street. The hostess herself was beautiful and welcoming. Not only did she help me choose the perfect outfit, she also did my makeup and hair herself. She was incredibly helpful during the photoshoot, so I didn't have to worry about any awkward moments. The photos I took were incredibly well-liked on my social media. I was absolutely delighted with my stay. From the service to the ambiance, every detail was truly captivating. If you're planning a trip to the ancient city, I highly recommend this hotel; I'm sure you'll love it too!

The room was spacious and clean, with unique decor. The large kang (kang bed) was incredibly comfortable. The courtyard of the guildhall was beyond description, exceeding my imagination. The proprietress had meticulously decorated it, making it feel like staying in the courtyard of a wealthy Shanxi merchant family. The owner and his wife were warm and attentive, proactively helping us with our travel plans, providing directions and hotel discounts. It was a truly wonderful guildhall. I'll definitely return to experience it again next time I send my children to college. I even took a photo of a Shanxi merchant's wife there. I received the finished photo today and am very satisfied.
