Punta Prosciutto Angel Bay B&B ★★★
"The best thing about Angel Bay B&B is Sal and Nadia. The next best thing is the beautiful beach a short walk away. This review is for Americans: If you are looking for a glamorous beach hotel with a glitzy bar or pool, do NOT stay here. But, if you are looking for Italy, Italian warmth, people who feel like family, and the peace and calm of a small, lovely village, then Angel Bay B&B is for you. Angel Bay is a small B&B with just a few rooms. Our room was comfortable and lovely. The rooms have bookshelves and cloth boxes so there are lots of places to keep your things. The bathroom has lots of storage for things like makeup and lotion. I liked the big window that we could open to let in fresh air. Each room has its own Mitsubishi air conditioner (more than adequate) and TV (we didn't even turn ours on). The B&B has a big patio with a hammock, sofas, and tables and chairs. Breakfast is served there, but we loved sitting out there in the evening. We met some really nice people from all over. In the back, there is a big sink where you can wash clothes (there was also soap for that purpose if you needed it) and clotheslines and racks for wet clothes and swimsuits. Things dried really fast. Maybe a block away is the ocean, the public beach. And Sal has chairs and umbrellas you can use if you want that option. But...we rented umbrellas at Samana Lido just a little further down the road and loved it. The public beach was okay, but Samana Beach was like Waikiki. But....Note this: Punta Proscuitto is VERY small with limited dining. There is no public transportation and no taxis, so if you don't have a car you are very limited and can't really go see any of the other little towns. We loved Samana Beach and spent every day there (with the exception of hiring a boat in Porto Cesareo one day--but Sal had to drive us and pick us up!). We loved our stay here--every minute of it. But it's a very small (maybe 3-4 streets, unpaved) town without much today outside of the beach. There are a total of 3 restaurants (2 at the beach that close early evening)."
