InterContinental Hotels Alpensia Pyeongchang Resort Reviews

My friends and I came to Intercontinental Alpensia because we got a really good deal and expected to experience snow right at the resort. The snow arrived a bit later than we hoped but honestly, we still had such a good time! The room was lovely, the weather was perfectly chilly (sometimes too cold.. so come prepared!) and we were lucky to catch real snow at Mount Balsangwan by taking the cable car at nearby resort (Mona Yongpyeong) We have to give a huge shout out to the in-room dining service; the Beef Risotto and Frutti di Mare Pasta were soooo good. Truly delicious! The whole area is so pretty and calm, especially with the Christmas vibe when we visited. Everything felt cozy and magical. We definitely plan to return! ❄️💙

In the Late 1900s the area was far lands abandoned due to soil depletion. This didn't stop the UnGrounded Minds from envioning it...The Luxury Hotel was drawn in 2003 by the Artisans, Built by the strong hands for 6 years, then it finally was opened as the InterContinental by the public-servants on 21 December 2009. Making a successful bid for the 2018 Olympic Winter games. Fast forward to the summer of 2025...you can have the beautiful resort all to yourself, or you can tell the others about it.

Though the hotel is a bit older, it's exceptionally well-maintained. It was spotlessly clean, and the service was excellent! A fantastic ski hotel!

Very good getaway skii trip. Around 8 minutes walk to Alpensia Ski area and with 30% off showing the hotel booking or hotel card. Nice room with decent size, smart TV with youtube and netflix, Wifi is fast. The fridge is not cold enough though. Breakfast was okay but we still paid for breakfast on the spot as there are limited options.

The property in nicely located near the ski slopes and with 5 min walk you can star your day skiing. We are a bit disappointed on how the reservation has been managed by Trip.com we have been assigned 2 Executive Suites for two adults and one child of 12 years old when 1 room would have been more than enough to accommodate three guests! That’s shameful! Room service end at 9:30 PM which in my opinion it’s a bit too early for a 5 star hotel like this one. Also a bit ridiculous to ask for an ice bucket 5.000 KRW against the coat of 570.000 KRW of one room only!! My sincere appreciation and gratitude to Mr.Koh the Concierge that has been extremely helpful and kind to us during the whole stay. Kudos to him!!!

The hotel was comfortable. The staff is nice, but the price of buffet of the hotel was incorrectly told. The facilities in the room were quite outdated, it seems back to the 00 year, but that would not affect the stay much.

This hotel is truly excellent! Its prime location makes it incredibly convenient for transportation, with plenty of restaurants and shops right nearby, making it super easy to get around. The rooms were spotless, well-arranged, and felt very cozy, ensuring a wonderfully comfortable stay. The front desk staff were welcoming and attentive, handling both check-in and check-out with great efficiency. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, and everything tasted delicious.

There are many restaurants nearby, making it a great location. However, I would recommend not staying for more than two days. All the dining options are within walking distance, and there's even more than 2, a 7-Eleven close by for convenience. Overall, it's a pleasant place for a short stay! Enjoy the cold weather.

Lovely hotel & easy access to the ski resort. However, as we travel.from Busan to the resort, we took a cab & it was so expensive. Cheaper to travel from Seoul instead.

The hotel amenities and facilities is nit like 5stars hotel. They sell toothpaste and toothbrush. Breakfast was okay for 5 star hotel. Not much options for bread spread. The shower space is small. Bath tub was good. Bed was good. Overall is okay. But under my expectations.

Great location and very comfortable! The hotel staff have created a warm and welcoming environment with lots of cozy zones inside. Beautiful walking track around the lake out back. The only minor gripe I had was that the breakfast was mediocre and it got boring having the same spread every day, down to the types of fruit and drinks served. Staying at the hotel also ensures you get 30% off the ski lift and gear rental which was an added plus!
