Hotels in Shi Road/Shantang business district, Suzhou

I've stayed at Andu before and really loved its location right by the food street. The accommodation experience was also great, which is why I came back this time. Before arriving, I wanted to check the breakfast information. I noticed several platforms didn't describe it much, so I'll write about it now~ If you book Andu through Ctrip, you can use points to redeem for breakfast. I redeemed one day's worth this time. There's a good variety, and the taste is actually very good. Several of the hot dishes were delicious, unlike some hotels where they just put out whatever. In particular, the coffee tasted excellent; the beans weren't acidic, which I prefer. The room was also very clean, and the separate wet and dry areas were very convenient!

It was a very pleasant family trip; both the seniors and the kids were very happy, saying they want to come again next time! The hotel is very new and clean, with no formaldehyde smell. The courtyard room is spacious, and the tatami mat setup made us feel very secure with the kids, no worries about them falling off the bed. The front desk staff, both the lady and the gentleman, provided excellent service, and the souvenirs they gave us were also lovely!

The staff upgraded us to a better room when we arrived early as our booked room was not yet available. Nice of them. Fantastic and modern hotel with all required amenities and great location. Service by all staff was excellent, they even invited us to be friends with them on WeChat so that we can ask them any questions including recommendations on food. Gave us good recommendations. When i lamented the lack of coffee, the staff immediately gave me 2 bottles of Starbucks coffee! For each day, they gave us additional bottled water for us for our day's outing. Only downside is that there is only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer which is understandable as it is a boutique hotel. The voice controls work only in Mandarin even though there was an English option.

The room was exceptionally clean, and the traditional garden-style architecture was truly captivating. Our duplex room was impressively spacious with plenty of room to relax, and the beds were neatly made. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. The drinks offered here are delicious and very reasonably priced! Plus, they can be delivered right to your room, which was incredibly convenient. It was quite hot during our stay, so we especially appreciated the complimentary sour plum juice and mint water provided to guests – a truly thoughtful touch that made our experience superb. We even asked the owner for ice cups for our cocktails, which she happily provided – fantastic service! The guesthouse is conveniently located by the road, close to various attractions and convenience stores. On either side, you'll find authentic local eateries serving delicious snacks like Shengjian for breakfast. Both the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum are just a five-minute walk away. It was perfect to be able to retreat to the comfort of our room for a break when the afternoon heat became too much.

Fabulous service apartment with ancient architecture garden, spacious room with excellent cleanliness. Situated opposite to a shopping mall with shops and dining facilities, easy to access everywhere near Metro station, within 20 minutes walking distance to Shanting Street. Free bottles of water available at lobby entrance. Will definitely return in my next visit.

The hotel's location is quite good, very close to Pingjiang Road Pedestrian Street. The environment is elegant, and the service is very attentive. They upgraded my room, and the staff member who helped me even personally carried my luggage to the room upstairs; he was very enthusiastic. The front desk, restaurant, and cleaning staff were all very welcoming and polite. The room was quite spacious and very quiet, and the air conditioning was strong. The breakfast spread was extensive, a mix of Chinese and Western dishes. For lunch and dinner, you can eat at the Muxiang Restaurant diagonally across from the hotel, where they also have Pingtang performances.

On a whim, I decided to take a two-day trip to Suzhou and booked this hotel – it's hands down the most satisfying one I've stayed in recently. First and foremost, the location is fantastic. It's a very short walk to Shantang Street and conveniently close to the subway station. Popular spots like Pingjiang Road and Xiyuan Temple, which we wanted to visit, are all within easy reach, whether by metro or taxi. From the hotel lobby windows, you get a lovely view of traditional white-washed walls and black-tiled roofs. Secondly, the rooms were spotless, it offered excellent value for money, and the breakfast spread was abundant. Every single dish was delicious; there wasn't a single 'miss' there. Furthermore, the staff truly impressed us with their exceptional service and thoughtful arrangements. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Suzhou!

Bringing my child to Suzhou, choosing this garden hotel was such a smart decision! The moment my kid stepped into the courtyard, they were captivated by the koi in the small pond. The hotel even provides kids' slippers and toothbrushes. My little one ran around on the stone bridge in traditional Hanfu, and the photos taken inside the hotel were incredibly atmospheric, thanks to the superb garden design! They also offered special fish food to feed the koi, which was a very thoughtful touch. My child absolutely loved it here. Plus, it's right next to a silk market, where we could browse for ages. We even bought some clothes for the kid. All the staff at the hotel were excellent, with a great service mindset. The location is perfect, right inside Shantang Street, which is highly recommended by locals. The street outside can be bustling, but as soon as you enter the hotel, it becomes instantly quiet. The pastries for afternoon tea were delicious and not overly sweet, so I didn't have to worry about my child eating them. When my child accidentally stained their clothes, the front desk even proactively helped wash and dry them. The service was incredibly thorough! It really freed up my hands. I'll definitely come back to stay here for the service next time!

After a disastrous night at a small hotel near Suzhou Amusement Land, where I didn't sleep a wink and had to search for a new place overnight, choosing a Marriott property was definitely the right decision. I called the hotel around noon before leaving, and they initially informed me that no rooms were ready. However, upon arrival half an hour later, they still managed to check us in and even provided complimentary tickets to Hanshan Temple on the spot. The hotel is admittedly a bit dated, but being over 30 stories high, it offers fantastic views. The elevators to the upper floors were remarkably fast. The room was carpeted, and given my child's dust mite allergy, the fact that he didn't sneeze once all night speaks volumes about its cleanliness. Despite its age, all necessary amenities and facilities were present and functional. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious – almost as big as the main room! We didn't use the bathtub, but heard from other guests that the hotel could arrange on-site cleaning and disinfection; we just didn't want the hassle. A thoughtful feature was that the room didn't require a key card to activate electricity; it had its own power card, so the AC wouldn't switch off if you left the room briefly – a much more convenient setup than what you find in smaller hotels. The air conditioning, by the way, was incredibly powerful; we had to adjust the temperature several times because it got too cold! Even the bathroom had AC. The hotel breakfast offered a huge variety of dishes, and there were always plenty of seats available. They even provided takeaway boxes, and many guests took advantage of it. One minor quibble was that the milk for coffee was room temperature, which wasn't ideal. So, I ended up ordering cold milk via delivery and asked the hotel for ice to make my own coffee. My child devoured three bowls of fried noodles, declaring it the best hotel breakfast he'd ever had. I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for accommodation near Hanshan Temple; you absolutely can't go wrong here.

Opened in 2025, the hotel is quite new and boasts excellent soundproofing. The bathroom features a separate toilet and shower area. The location is convenient, though the adjacent commercial complex won't open until the end of the year, which should make accessibility even better; currently, getting around requires a slight detour. It's close to Shantang Street, and both the Lingering Garden and Xiyuan Temple are within walking distance. The surrounding area is a newly developed commercial district, providing a quieter atmosphere compared to the bustling old town. The mattress is comfortable, and they offer a variety of pillow choices. The amenities provided are also good, which I was very pleased with. The staff were quite friendly and enthusiastic. Overall, it's a solid choice.
