This "Parador de Úbeda," is officially known as Parador de Turismo Condestable Dávalos, and is indeed located within the UNESCO World Heritage zone of Úbeda's historic center. The building itself is a 16th-century Renaissance palace that was once the residence of the noble Dávalos family. The rooms are spacious and give you a feeling of staying in a Renaissance building. And of course, you are. It was a great stay and one I am so glad we didn't miss."

"The owner was warm and kind and the hotel is in an absolutely beautiful and historic area. The bed squeaked every time a hair on your head moved. It squeaked so much that we did not get any sleep at all. The sheets had stains on them. The shower was decent and the heater worked well. There is parking close by and there is an elevator up to the room. No breakfast was offered and there was no coffee in the room."
