Discovery Parks - Halls Gap

Discovery Parks - Halls Gap ★★★

📍 26 School Rd, Halls Gap

"In a campsite, the surrounding area is very convenient, with shops and supermarkets. The kitchen in the cabin is fully equipped and the sanitary conditions are OK. There were many kangaroos and parrots flying around. It's basically a self-service model with no service. The check-in time marked by Ctrip is wrong, and the staff gets off work at 17:00. But I left the key, so it's very convenient to check in by yourself."

Lake Bolac Motel
9.3 (21 reviews)

Lake Bolac Motel ★★★

📍 2173 Glenelg Hwy, Lake Bolac

"The room was neat and clean. I did not want for anything, plenty of tea, coffee, snacks and toiletries. It was nice and warm on a cold June day-the air-conditioning actually worked! (not like most....) There was no noise from neighbouring rooms, so a good night sleep was had."

Ararat Motor Inn

Ararat Motor Inn ★★★★

📍 367 Barkly St, Ararat

"Clean room. Condition of room good, probably recently refurbished. Provided electric blanket - a bonus as temperature was cold outside."

Statesman Motor Inn

Statesman Motor Inn ★★★★

📍 79 Lambert St, Ararat

"A great place to stop on the way from Adelaide to Melbourne. Worried I wouldn't be able to check in before 6 PM, I called to inquire about self-service check-in. I was told it was available until 8 PM. Upon arrival, a foreign lady checked me in, but judging by the Maitreya Buddha and Maneki Neko decorations at the front desk, I assumed the owner was Chinese. The next day, when checking out, my daughter encountered a charming Chinese lady who even gave her candy from the Christmas tree. The hotel was clean, but one small suggestion: the pillows were too high, making sleeping very tiring. A set of loft pillows would have been perfect."

Ararat Southern Cross Motor Inn
9.2 (39 reviews)

Ararat Southern Cross Motor Inn ★★★

📍 96 High St, Ararat

"We have been coming to the Southern Cross Motor Inn in Ararat for 2 years now and have never been disappointed with the quality of this accommodation. The rooms are bigger, the windows are double glazed so the rooms are quieter and they are always scrupulously clean. The operators of this motor inn are always looking to make small changes to make visitors more comfortable including, dare I mention it, the best quality toilet paper we have seen in a motel or hotel in a long time. The last time we stayed in October, we noticed they have now supplied non-slip mats to avoid older people like us slipping in the shower. We can thoroughly recommend this accommodation for its comfort and attention to detail. "

Mount William Station ★★★★★
"Rare to get this kind of opportunity to stay at a working pastoral station with roots back to the earliest colonisation of these parts by European settlers . Mt William Station would be an incredible venue for any private function such as weddings but, when not booked out it's open to couples or groups with a range of accommodation styles. We had a great weekend staying at the main house and its a privilege to get to sense the history that exudes from every pore of this place. It still feels more like staying at a family home than at a hotel and a tour by Will, The Homestead's current owner and custodian was a highlight, for sure. A truly wonderful weekend escape, great food from the in-house chef accompanied by a wine list of some of the great local offerings."

YHA Grampians Eco, Halls Gap ★★★
"This was my second time staying here, and once again, it was a great experience. After a lovely day exploring the Grampians, it was nice to come back to a place that has everything you need. The facilities are excellent, especially the spacious kitchen which made meal prep easy and enjoyable. The common lounge area was a cozy highlight—during winter, they even have a fireplace that adds a warm, festive touch. The couch was clean and super comfy, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The room itself was very comfortable. The heater worked perfectly, and everything—from the toilet to the shower—was spotless. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Checking in and out was smooth, though it's worth noting that check-in is only available during a limited time window. At checkout, guests are asked to place used sheets in a designated area, which was clearly communicated. I’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!"

Discovery Parks - Halls Gap ★★★
"We had a late check-in and called prior to let the receptionist know as the counter closes at 5pm. They were really chill about it as long as you come first thing in the morning to sign off the paperwork. But note that they open at 9am so if you have plans to set out on your adventures early then best to check-in on time 😅 The place was cosy, with 3 additional flannel blankets for people who can’t take the cold (even during the summer! It was windy and at 7 deg C the nights we were there). The cabin can fit 6 people with 4 bunk beds + 1 queen. We didn’t know how to use the radiator or maybe it wasn’t working but it was just us two so we took all the blankets to keep warm… The shower area is tiny but we make do. Toilet was also clean with plenty of toilet paper provided. Kitchen has coffee, tea, sugar and a small milk box. No oil/salt/pepper if you intend to cook so remember to BYO! Not sure if they might have these in the communal kitchen as we didn’t explore that. No washer if you’re looking to clean your muddy gear from hiking! 5-min walk to the shops and to trails aplenty within the Grampians National Park. Takes anywhere between 20-1.5hrs to drive up to the peaks/lookouts in the area. We did about 8 small trails/lookout points in 2 days. Also check out Spirit of Punjab if you’re looking to reward yourself on the final night after your adventures. The food was yum!"

Lake Bolac Motel ★★★
"This motel has exceeded expectations beyond belief. The rooms are incredibly clean and they've been renovated to have new bathroom vanities. The little touches (coffee machine, mocha sachets and chocolates on the bed side table) in every room really make this place stand out amongst everything. The lovely owners really topped the place off with being kind and having a chat."

"Really loved my stay at NRMA Halls Gap!! It’s really clean! They even had heated beds, but one side is unplugged, without a plug nearby. There’s a car lot available right beside the villa. Makes unloading our stuff really easy and accessible."
