Because we are international travellers we came with bigger luggage so it is hard to carry them up 3 floors without lift. The hotel make sure all has a chance to make a booking for a private onsen. There is also a time slot that is public so I get to use the onsen 2x which I really like. Location is near station which makes it easy to travel. There were many Dos and don’t conveyed during check in.

The hotel is slightly over 1km from Kirin Lake and the shopping lane but it offers free bikes for use by guests and cycling to the attractions is a breeze from the hotel. In addition, the hotel offers booking for three of their onsen amenities - open air, semi open air and we xtra hot osen. Guest can book the preferred slot at one of the onsen location and by about 8pm, the hotel will allow guests to book any additional slots at any of their onsens. We managed to have slots for all three of the onsens, each was well maintained and provides you to have privacy of quiet onsens. There is a hotel lounge where you can have free flow of cold and old drinks too...

Hotel service is good

The place is clean and tidy, with convenient transportation. It takes only 5 minutes to get to the train station. The hotel also has 4 bicycles for rent. Yufuin has a beautiful environment, but please note that most stores close between 17:00 and 18:00, except for restaurants. So it is best to leave early. The noon train from Hakata to Yufuin is almost 5 pm.

The location is very convenient - close to the station and the bus terminal. The staff is friendly and polite. The room was clean (it was very small, but it was enough for me, because I was alone), the view from the window was pleasing) Cleaning was done once a day (with replacement of yukata, towels, toiletries and trash removal). Three onsen - on the 1st, 3rd floors and on the roof. I visited two - on the roof (it is VERY hot, but it was still great! Photo No. 2) and on the 3rd floor (it is also essentially in the open air, not as hot and also great, photos No. 3 and 4). Reservation of the time to visit the onsen was upon check-in (plus from a certain time all onsens worked as public, with free access). P.s. The local cats are adorable! 😊

It is about five to ten minutes away from the JR station and there is also a convenience store nearby, which is very convenient. There are three cats in the lobby. There is a simple and fully equipped communal kitchen.

In the afternoon, it is a place where you can take a hot spring bath with your family. I had a happy time with my daughter using the hot spring on the 3rd floor. You can take a hot spring while looking at Mt. Yufu, but I thought it might be visible from outside, so I lowered my body and went into the bath. I was embarrassed because I didn't know that the room I reserved didn't have a bathroom, but there was a bathroom right next to it, so I didn't feel any inconvenience and had a good time. Anyway, I used the hot spring for a shower in the morning and at night. Breakfast was just right for women.

The middle-aged woman at the front desk didn't smile at all when we checked in. She gave us a Japanese-style room on the 3rd floor. The room was so shabby without even a chair, and we had to climb stairs. It was honestly the worst room we've ever stayed in!

Not far from the station, there's a delicious and affordable sushi restaurant nearby, and the BBQ stall downstairs is also very popular! However, the hot spring hotel only provides four bicycles, and they must be reserved after 8 AM. Breakfast is very simple and small, and I'd rather buy it at a convenience store! My biggest frustration was that after checking out, it was still early for my noon bus, and I tried to use the internet in the breakfast area near the lobby. The Indonesian-looking receptionist immediately turned off the lights. It was very unfriendly!

The front desk staff are all very friendly, and there are even three cats, which are very cute! The hotel is also well-equipped with a kitchen that you can use for free, a hot spring, and even public bicycles that you can rent. 

The hotel staff on the first day of check-in said that luggage could only be stored after check-out (10:00) until 12 noon, which is only 2 hours. We found this very unreasonable. Later the next day, I guess it was the boss lady who allowed me to store my luggage until 5pm when I came back to pick it up after the tour, which was much more reasonable. There are 2 cute little cats in the hotel.

The staff were friendly and the location was good, and I liked everything about it, but the only thing I regret is that there is no elevator and there are a lot of bugs. I haven't been to Yufuin's accommodations before, so I'm not sure if there are a lot of bugs because it's in the countryside or if there are a lot of bugs only at this accommodation. But they also lend you a bicycle for free, so you can make good memories!

It is very close to the JR station, and there are convenience stores and supermarkets around. The location is very convenient. The hot spring has private time and public time. The private time needs to be booked in advance, and can only be booked once a day (40 minutes), so you need to manage your time well.
