We arrived quite late and departed early, but the host was incredibly thoughtful, letting us store our luggage and pick it up after our evening plans. We were extremely satisfied with our stay – the place was clean, quiet, and conveniently located. A real bonus was having a washing machine in every room. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and a convenience store is located right downstairs. The Tianmen Mountain cable car station is only about a ten-minute walk away, just a few streets over. You'll pass several rice noodle shops on the way, perfect for a quick breakfast. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful time staying at the Ru Hotel in Wulingyuan to visit Zhangjiajie. This is really a home stay although it is called a Hotel in the name. The house is recently built and not just renovated. Everything is well thought out and there is even an elevator. The owner and hosts were extremely nice and helpful. The owner picked us up and dropped us off personally (we ended up renting another night directly with the hotel so we got a drop off, too). The breakfast was simple, but delicious and the iced coffee was very good. The room we got was really nice and comfortable and as you can see from the photos, had a beautiful view of the river and mountains in the background. The beds and bedding were really comfortable. A lot of hotels have rooms that smell like smoke even though they are supposed to be non-smoking, but these rooms had absolutely no smoke smell and smelled fresh. Our son enjoyed the Xiaodu TV, which had SVIP streaming services. We would definitely come back to stay here and highly recommend for others to stay here.

1. Hotel Experience & Unmatched Hospitality
My stay at XiFuWan Resort Hotel was truly unforgettable—one of the most heartfelt and sincere displays of hospitality I’ve encountered in all my travels. A family-owned hotel opened in 2024, it makes you feel like a guest in someone’s home rather than a commercial customer.
As a solo traveller on a spontaneous trip, I had very little planned. The hotel staff kindly helped secure attraction tickets to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, and ZJJ Grand Canyon, even managing to get them at slightly lower prices than the official sites. The owner—formerly with the Zhangjiajie Tourism Bureau—also provided invaluable advice on routes and timings, tailored to my stay. This made a huge difference in navigating the expansive park efficiently.
2. Cleanliness, Comfort & Amenities
The Exceptional Business Double Room was impeccably clean—easily among the cleanest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Rather than a work desk, the room had a lounge table and two chairs by the window, creating a cosy spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery.
A wonderful bonus was the complimentary laundry service, which was thoughtful and convenient, especially after outdoor excursions.
3. Generosity & Personal Care
I arrived early in the morning and was offered a free early check-in. On departure day, the staff also offered late check-out due to my evening flight, which I truly appreciated.
When I felt unwell on my first day, the owner’s father—a retired doctor— kindly offered a medical consultation and continued to check in on me. Their level of attentiveness was deeply moving.
To top it off, the hotel gifted all guests a box of fresh local fruits, reflecting their warmth and generosity.
4. Location, Accessibility & Language Support
The hotel is located in a fantastic area—peaceful, yet close to numerous eateries, shops, and amenities. The convenience of having everything within walking distance enhanced the entire experience.
Despite being in a mountainous region, the hotel features a built-in lift, making it very accessible—something that’s not always common in small towns.
For English-speaking travellers, one of the owners is a former English teacher, which made basic communication smooth and reassuring.
5. Community Feel
The hotel sits beside a local primary school, which added a lovely, heartwarming touch to the environment. There’s a strong sense of community and kindness, not only within the hotel, but throughout the surrounding area. For those who value authentic, local experiences, this place feels like home.
6. Final Thoughts
Although XiFuWan Resort Hotel only began accepting foreign tourists a few months ago, it is an absolute hidden gem that deserves more recognition among international visitors. If you’re considering a stay in Zhangjiajie, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this hotel a try. The care, hospitality, and personal touch truly set it apart.
Without a doubt, I’ll be staying here again the next time I return to ZJJ.

1. We were met at the airport and taken to the train station on a free comfortable transfer.
2. There is a free transfer to the National Park there and back.
3. Delicious breakfast: steamed buns, jiaozi, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables - and all this with a stunning view of the mountains!
4. The territory of a hotel is much larger than it looks on the photo, very well-groomed and interesting. I recommend to plan 1 day to just relax at the hotel!
5. The hotel has a small cute pool with a view of the mountains.
6. The hotel staff confidently speaks English and helped us with literally every little thing! They bought tickets, planned every day of our stay, helped with routes and gave their recommendations. They answered in the chat literally instantly on any question! They were worried and wrote to us if we stayed somewhere late.
7. Free tea tasting of local tea in English was very interesting! You can buy local tea and pottery in the store.
8. During our stay, we counted 3 dogs, 7 cats, 3 kittens and 2 puppies that live on the territory of the hotel. All animals are very friendly and gave this place an incredibly warm and homely atmosphere.
9. Laundry is free, we used it several times, everything is great!
10. You can order dinner at any time. All the food is delicious, home-cooked and made with love!
11. The room was wonderful and very spacious with a large bed, great pillows and very soft linens.
12. We left the hotel very early, so the staff brought us breakfast to go. It was very nice!

LLyndsey99Our stay here was perfect, what an amazing place! The staff are exceptional, and really care about guest experience. They provide transport to and from the east gate of the national park, and will help you plan your day. The service was perfect even down to the small details, like putting mosquito repellent out on the table we liked to play cards at, and providing us with a printed photo of our favourite memory there to take away with us.
The room was great, the views were breathtaking. After a long day at the park, we really appreciated having a small swimming pool there for a dip. Food options were good - we enjoyed our dinners and the breakfast buffet. Orders can be placed in advance on WeChat when you are on your way back from a day at the park. There was a decent range of both soft and alcoholic drinks available.
What we loved the most is that they have struck the perfect balance between luxury and a kind of homely comfort. We felt so relaxed here. An added bonus for us was their friendly dogs and cat, as we were starting to miss our own dogs at home by this point of our trip.
The location was fantastic. It is close to the national park, but the views are so good that if you choose to relax at the hotel you won’t miss anything. If our room wasn’t booked for the following days, we would have extended our stay. One of our favourite places we have ever stayed, not just in China. Thank you to everyone at Celestial Vally for an excellent stay!

MM26653****The room was very spacious, with modern facilities and well-equipped amenities, including slippers and toothbrushes for children – the toothbrushes were especially cute and my child loved them. The hotel service was excellent; the front desk staff were very enthusiastic and upgraded our room. In the evening, they even offered porridge and various other items like foot-soaking tubs. The location is convenient, situated above the Zhongshang Mall. It's just a taxi's starting fare to the Tianmen Mountain cable car, and there are plenty of dining options downstairs. The hotel breakfast's noodles were delicious.

The shower had a waterfall shower head and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was very good with many options for both chinese and western style food. The service here was amazing! Mei at the front desk helped us to plan out itinerary for Zhanjiajie forest park, with our day planned and mapped out, even including the estimated time we would spend in each area of the park and our bus routes within to maximize our experience. She booked our tickets and park reservations. This was extremely helpful as we do not speak Mandarin and found the park very confusing on our own. They also provide free transport to and from East gate and drop off pick up to the pedestrian street restaurants and local sightseeing.. The hotel is also located right next to Baofen Lake scenic park. Our experience in Zhangjiajie was amazing thanks to the fabulous service this hotel offers.

AAmber OThis hotel was hands down the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in! It felt luxurious. The room was spacious and clean, and I loved the breakfast and dinner buffet. They also have a very nice gym and I was able to book adventures through them! Alex was very nice and helpful during my stay. He answered all of my questions with a smile and gave me any help that I needed! Thanks again, Alex. You’re the best!

XXYHJNThe room was spotless. The location is excellent, just a short taxi ride from the scenic area entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. A charming little stream runs right by the entrance, offering beautiful scenery, and you can even go down for a paddle. The owner was incredibly kind and went out of their way to thoroughly explain tips for exploring the scenic area. There's also a third-floor terrace, perfect for drying clothes, which offers fantastic views. This is a truly honest review – we had an absolutely wonderful time!

MM469552****Exceeded my expectations, a truly satisfying stay! 👍 The front desk staff, especially the lady, was incredibly helpful and accommodating, always ready to assist. We even received complimentary fresh fruit upon check-in, and the oranges were so sweet.
#Location: It's very close to the iconic gate, just a leisurely 15-minute walk, so no need for a taxi at all.
#Cleanliness: I can't praise this enough – it was spotless! Even my mom, who's very particular, was impressed, hahaha. The floors, tables, and bathroom were all impeccably clean, with no strange odors!
#Facilities: The separate toilet, shower, and sink are a fantastic touch. Since there were three of us, we didn't have to fight over the bathroom. The tatami design is also a big plus.
#Breakfast: The food selection was extensive and quite delicious. The best part is that we had an early park entry at 8 AM, so we needed to eat breakfast early. The hotel started serving well before 7 AM.
#Shuttle Service: They offer one complimentary shuttle service, and the driver was also very friendly and accommodating. Thumbs up! 👍
PS: If you're wondering where to eat, check out a nearby restaurant called Yehua Xiang. Their 3-person set meal on Dianping (a local review app) had no misses, everything was delicious!

TTuty KI love Miss Inn! The hotel is cosy and comfortable and conveniently located on Wuling Road. I believe the rooms have themes. The host kindly helped carry my bag up. My room faced Wuling Road but it wasn’t that noisy. The host is very kind and patient and he helped explain and advise the route to take in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The East Gate to the Park is only a 12-minute walk from the hotel and the bus station is also within a 7-minute walk. There is also a resident kitty. When I booked, I didn’t know there’s a halal restaurant only two doors away (with sign in green) - what a bonus!
