The fourth stop of visiting the four famous gardens in Lingnan is Liang Garden in Foshan, located in Chancheng District, Foshan City. It was established during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty and is the general term for the private garden of the Liang family in Songgui Li, Foshan. Liang Garden was built by the local famous calligraphers Liang Airu, Liang Jiuzhang and Liang Jiutu, four uncles and nephews, during the Jiaqing and Daoguang periods of the Qing Dynasty. The construction of the entire garden took more than forty years. The former Liang Garden was exquisitely shaped and ingeniously laid out. The ingenious design made the mansion, ancestral hall and garden integrated, with the unique Lingnan water town charm of winding water and willow banks, and the style is elegant. As time goes by, Liang Garden was destroyed in the war, and later it was repaired with the support of the Foshan Municipal Government and restored its former glory. Therefore, the buildings in Liang Garden are all new, and they are less intriguing than the other three gardens. Liang Garden is mainly composed of several groups such as 'Twelve Stone Zhai', 'Group Star Grass Hall', 'Fenjiang Grass Lu', 'Hanxiang Pavilion', etc., with a large scale. Based on the foundation of Chinese classical architecture, it integrates the characteristics of modern new-style architecture. Walking in Liang Garden, you can see both antique buildings and enjoy the poetic garden path. The scenery changes with every step, sometimes lingering in the Chinese classical garden, and sometimes lingering in the book-filled book tower. The pavilions, stone mountain trails, small bridges and flowing water, and strange flowers and plants in the garden are ingeniously arranged, reflecting the architectural features of Lingnan.
