Lalique Museum in Hakone

If you enjoy things Arts Nouveau then you will love this place. It is easy to get to in the middle of the village, but nestled back away from the street and surrounded by Japanese gardens and ponds - and even a resident heron. The Lalique collection was stunning - and not just the usual collection of a couple of dozen brooches but many large and ornate pieces too. Doors, windows, bowls, statues, hood ornaments ... you name it. Well worth the visit. And the cheesecake in the cafe was to die for. In 2024, I want to come here again. #2024wish
