Sichuan Leshan Giant Buddha On this trip to Chengdu, there were two legs of the journey that were quite far, so we opted for a car rental and self-driving. It's a 2-hour drive from Chengdu to Leshan, and the early arrival benefit is that there aren't as many people. We chose to take a boat tour before climbing the mountain, to avoid unnecessary detours. Boat tickets should be bought early in the morning on the day, otherwise, they might sell out. The weather was very cooperative, and the rain I worried about didn't come, making it quite cool. We gave up on 'Buddha's feet' as we didn't want to spend time queuing. Different angles of the Giant Buddha are all very impressive, and the delicacies of Leshan are not to be missed.
