Washington Square Park

Washington Square Park is always so lively. It is a popular meeting place for not only the NYU students nearby but also many New Yorkers. From far away, you will be greeted by the impressive Washington Square Arch. Take your time to look up the Arch and admire its beautiful design and sculpture. The Arch was built to commemorate the centennial of George Washington’s 1789 inauguration as US President. The fountain takes the centre stage and many activities happen around it. However, if you walk around the park, you can also see chess players showing their skills, people training their dogs or kids playing in the playground.
