Swankhalok street art, Sukhothai

A 30 mins ride from the historical city of Sukhothai, lies Sawankhalok. It’s a lovely ride up there. Behind the river lie some streets with well known Chinese communities where artists from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia created a spectacular street art on the walls of buildings in Sawankhalok, the district’s old Chinese community. Decorated with traditional motif, these colorful paintings they created reflect the ‘pop culture’ of today, covering food, fashion, art, literature, music, sports, media and lifestyle activities.
