The original name of the 'Mud Touching Festival' was 'Rice Touching Festival'. Every year on the third day of the third lunar month and the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, the Tujia brothers and sisters gather in the Red Stone Forest Scenic Area of Xiangxi, using 'mud' instead of 'rice' and 'ash', expressing their love to the admired ones with the 'mud' smeared on their hands. ▫️ After the Mud Touching Festival in Xiangxi was held in the Red Stone Forest National Geological Park, the ceremony was passed on to the dock of Furong Town. The Mud Touching Festival takes the 'red, yellow, blue' three-color mud from Nuwa's five-color divine stone, performs innovative interpretation, and defines the modern people's 'expression of love' with the primitive and wild 'touching mud'.
