Baita Mountain is located in Lanzhou City, adjacent to the famous Zhongshan Bridge. The front of the mountain is the mother river, the Yellow River. The altitude here is said to be around 1,700, but climbing from the bottom of the city to the top of the mountain is not as hard as I expected. I estimate that this number counts the city's original elevation. According to the practice of the day, if a young man climbs, he can climb from the bottom of the mountain to the top of the mountain in less than half an hour. Although the slope is a bit steep, it is not too hard overall. If you are driving, you can drive from the trail of the mountain to the mountainside platform. Then walk 5 minutes to the White Pagoda!
From the value of play, the elements that Baitashan can play are not too many. Baitashan Park became a landmark in Lanzhou, and foreign tourists rushed to punch cards. This also shows that this place has its own uniqueness. Then I made a summary, on the Baita Mountain, you can at least play like this!
1: Enjoy the scenery. This is the primary purpose of climbing Baita Mountain. In the mountains, you can overlook the entire Lanzhou city. At the foot of the river is the rapid flow of the Yellow River, and the small Zhongshan Bridge. Lanzhou is an important city in the northwest, the capital of Gansu, and its beauty may be rough. But when you climb the Baita Mountain, if you encounter the sunset, Lanzhou at this time also has its own soft side. So if you want to see the scenery of Lanzhou, or shoot a big city movie, you can't miss it in Baitashan!
2: Appreciation. White Pagoda on Baita Mountain, White Tower in Baita Temple. Yes, it is because of this white tower that the name of Baita Mountain and Baita Temple. The history of this white pagoda can be traced back to the Yuan Dynasty. Around 1228 AD, in order to commemorate the death of a Mongolian lama who went to Mongolia to meet Genghis Khan. The most impressive part of the tower is the regular window of the tower that houses the buddha statues. It feels both mysterious and sacred. The Baita Tower is quite normal in style. It is a traditional Chinese ancient tower type. Although it is not amazing, it is at least very classic!
3: Shoot. To Baita Mountain, there are not many tourists who will take the camera and shoot some beautiful materials. Whether it is the White Tower or the whole picture of Lanzhou City, it is the material that everyone is happy to create. I also share some of my shooting experience here. 1) You can fly a drone in Baita Mountain, but you must pay attention to safety. After all, it is in the city, and interference is everywhere. If you can't come back if you fly far, you can only mourn for you. 2) The time to photograph the city is about 8 o'clock. Because the sunset in the northwest is relatively late, you can check the sunset time of the day in advance and arrange the seats about half an hour earlier. And Lanzhou is more likely to have a sunset glow. If you have a sunset, your photos will be much more exciting. 3) Take a closer look at the white tower body. Here I suggest using a drone to fly close to the details of the Buddha image. Because my flying skills are not good, I don't dare to be too close. If you have good technology, or if you are currently introducing a zoomable model, you can make the Buddha statue bigger and clearer. These Buddha statues are full of vicissitudes of life, a testimony to history and extraordinary significance!

Baitashan Park
Baitashan Park is located in the northern part of Chengguan District, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, and is named after the White Pagoda Temple on the top of the hill. The White Pagoda, together with the Lanzhou Yellow River Iron Bridge, forms a magnificent and majestic scene, and is one of the symbols of Lanzhou City in Gansu Province.
The White Pagoda was originally built during the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. The temple has a rectangular plan with the White Pagoda at the center. The pagoda has an octagonal seven-tiered body, about seventeen meters high, with a green top, a round base, and a pure white body that is tall and graceful. To the south of the pagoda are three large temple buildings, to the north is the Cundi Bodhisattva Hall, and to the east and west are several side halls.
The White Pagoda combines exquisite architectural structure and superb carving art, showcasing the intelligence and artistic creativity of the ancient working people, and is a masterpiece of ancient Chinese architecture. From the top of Baitashan, one can overlook the cityscape of Lanzhou.

The temples of Baektopsan..
On a cloudy day in February, the Baitashan Park in Lanzhou was truly a spectacle. Surrounded by vibrant greenery, the mix of modern buildings and ancient landmarks like the White Pagoda was breathtakingly beautiful. Climbing the tower offered an amazing view, and the well-maintained park provided a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of the city. This place is a special spot that beautifully connects Lanzhou's past and present, perfect for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the charm of the city.
Don't worry about the climb taking too long; take your time and stop by.

Working people travel to a different city every month for a weekend getaway - Lanzhou
Working people travel to a different city every month for a weekend getaway - Lanzhou
Transportation: Zhengzhou to Lanzhou by plane. In the city: choose any from shared bikes/public transport/taxis as distances are short
Lanzhou Airport is about 60km from the city center. The subway runs until 11 pm, and the airport bus operates 24 hours. For tickets, use WeChat 'Lanzhou Airport Bus' or buy directly at the airport exit;
Accommodation: Hanting Hotel. I booked the Dongfanghong Square Wanda City store, which I don't recommend due to the small rooms and outdated equipment. It's more convenient to stay near Xiaoxihu for food, accommodation, and entertainment
Follow a single route for sightseeing, you can directly copy this plan
Day1: Lanzhou Museum - Lanzhou Center - Xiaoxihu - Mother of the Yellow River - White Pagoda Mountain - Lanshan - Dazhong Alley Night Market/Nanguan Night Market - He Yao Huotang
Day2: Wuquan Old Street Morning Market - Dunhuang Art Center - Reader's Museum - Waterwheel Expo Park - Jar Jar Tea (you can choose near Zhongtianjian close to Lanzhou West Station)
Itinerary details:
Book Lanzhou Museum in advance on the official WeChat account, with volunteer explanations available around 10 am. If you want an in-depth visit, reserve about 4 hours. Opposite the museum is the Lanzhou Center, with a local food market behind it; Xiaoxihu/Mother of the Yellow River/White Pagoda Mountain are on the same line, and it takes about 2 hours to walk and visit. White Pagoda Mountain Park is a small hill, and it's recommended to choose between it and Lanshan; for Lanshan, it's recommended to visit during the day and Manhattan at night. You can take a taxi directly up the mountain, and when coming down, you can share a ride for 10 yuan per person, with a visiting time of 1 hour; after coming down from Lanshan, it's time to visit the night market. Nanguan Night Market is more recommended for local food, and there are also some quiet bars and Tibetan bars nearby. If you like lively places, you can go to He Yao Huotang, but be prepared for long queues;

Lanzhou Plan
Lanzhou, the pearl on the bank of the Yellow River, has a long history and profound cultural heritage.
A charming city that boasts both an ancient cultural history and a modern urban landscape.
The only provincial capital city through which the Yellow River flows, it is known as the 'Pearl of the Yellow River'.
A Silk Road port and a millennium-old city, it carries the weight of history and the blend of cultures.
With its unique geographical location and rich natural resources, it has become an important city in the northwest region.
Lanzhou's food culture has a long history, and its beef noodles are famous nationwide.
The city's mountains and rivers are dependent on each other, with beautiful natural scenery, making it a tourist and vacation paradise. It has both the boldness of the northwest and the grace of the south. A place that makes you linger and forget to return, it is worth a deep experience.
In the long river of time, it has witnessed the vicissitudes and changes of history. It has integrated multiple cultures, full of humanistic atmosphere and artistic ambiance.

Explore the Maijishan Grottoes, the dazzling Buddhist country on the cliffs, and take a trip to the ancient city of Tianshui to feel the ancient and modern times hidden in the alleys.
Come to Lanzhou, slurp a bowl of beef noodles, add an egg or some side dishes, it seems hard to find such a taste outside of Gansu. Walk along the Zhongshan Bridge, feel the evening breeze by the Yellow River, and view the night scene of the White Pagoda Mountain.
Go to Wuwei, listening to the Wuwei three-wheel cart sounds quite nice, a bowl of Xing noodles, a plate of cured meat, and a cup of Fucha tea. Listen to the story of the 'Horse Stepping on a Flying Swallow,' view the scenery of the South Gate, stroll through the night market of Ming and Qing Street, and feel the breeze of Tianma Lake.
Travel to Zhangye, the Rainbow Danxia, nature's palette, National Geographic's eyeshadow palette, a huge canvas painted by nature, and the fatty pork belly. Visit the old street of Zhangye, feel the wind of Zhangye, and look at the night scene of Zhangye.
Arrive in Dunhuang, you must try the Dunhuang barbecue, where the Crescent Lake is known as 'one of the unique views beyond the Great Wall.' Experience camel riding on the sand, a great place for desert tourism. Climbing the Mingsha Mountain is tiring, but the sunset at Crescent Lake is really beautiful. There are also the Mogao Caves of Dunhuang, each Buddha statue, each mural, is a mark of time, inspiring awe in everyone.

Gansu Lanzhou | Baita Mountain Park | Mysterious temple experience
If you have been to the Lanzhou City Museum, you must have seen the white temple tower there. That tower is somewhat similar to the white tower on Baita Mountain behind Lanzhou Iron Bridge. Both are brick towers, and each layer of the tower eaves is full of copper bells. The upper half of the tower body is the same pavilion-style tower, the difference is in the lower half, the white temple tower is more obvious, more like a treasure bottle, while the white tower is a bowl shape. The white tower is an octagonal tower base, and the white temple tower is a cross-folded corner shape.
-
As for why they look alike? I'm not sure, they were both built in the Ming Dynasty. It's just that the White Tower was rebuilt nearly 200 years before the White Temple, maybe it was like this at that time. It was rebuilt on the ruins, and it was the early Ming Dynasty.
-
📙Background knowledge:
The builder of the White Temple Tower was a Mongolian. The timeline goes back to Lanzhou on the map of the Western Xia Dynasty. The Mongolians in the north invited the Lama in the south to discuss. The Lama passed through Lanzhou and died of illness. A tower was built here in memory of him at the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty. Even if it was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty, it was a combination of two cultures. After all, Lanzhou is located in a region where various cultures blend, as it was in the past and is now.
🎩Wonderful experience:
❶ How to look at a tower? The structure of the tower body and the carvings on the tower base. After all, the base of Mount Sumeru is full of carvings, and the lines are simple and clear. There are also Buddha niches on the pavilion-style tower body, and there are even Buddha statues in the niches.
❷ Here you can see the Lanzhou Iron Bridge crowded with tourists. The sheepskin rafts lined up on the banks of the Yellow River. Lanzhou in the summer vacation is the starting point of various self-driving routes in Gansu and Qinghai, and there are really many people. The Baita Mountain, named after the tower, obviously has more locals coming here for a walk. Because the mountain is really not high, but the view is good. There are many pavilions on the mountain, which is indeed a good place for a lazy weekend.
❸ There is a night view.
📷Photography position:
Drones can fly, be careful to avoid the crowd
🗺️Recommended route:
You can walk over from Zhongshan Iron Bridge, and you can see it in front of the bridge. It's really not far or high. But Baita Mountain Park is not small in size, because it also includes the Lanzhou Stele Forest where the First Pavilion of the Yellow River is located. But the actual effect is much worse than on the Internet.

Lanzhou in the night is full of lights. Find a place to look up, beautiful. Baitashan Park is located on the north bank of the Yellow River near the center of Lanzhou. The entrance is connected to the Zhongshan Bridge and is an important attraction in Lanzhou.
NBtravel.
The city of Lanzhou is distributed along the Yellow River, narrow in the east-west direction and narrow in the south and north poles. The Yellow River passes through Lanzhou City and is the most distinctive landscape belt along the banks of the Yellow River. The Zhongshan Bridge on the Yellow River is a century-old iron bridge that has become a famous symbol of Lanzhou. The
Zhongshan Bridge was built in 1907 and was called the "First Bridge of the Yellow River in the World". It was originally called "Lanzhou Yellow River Iron Bridge". It was renamed Zhongshan Bridge because of the commemoration of Mr. Sun Yat-sen.
The north bank of the Yellow River is Baitashan Park. This hill is not high, but it is an excellent view point. The mountain is named after a white tower. After passing the Zhongshan Bridge, it is the gate of the park and is free to open. The
White Tower has an open view overlooking Lanzhou City and the sunset. It is a favorite spot for locals. The mountains are densely green and the buildings are simple, which is very suitable for leisure and fitness. The white tower of the
top of the mountain was built in the Yuan Dynasty to commemorate the famous Tibetan lama who died in Genghis Khan in Mongolia. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the White Tower collapsed. The existing Baita was rebuilt by Liu Yongcheng, an internal supervisor of Ganjing, who was guarding Gansu during the Ming Dynasty.
From the mountains overlooking the Yellow River and the city center of Lanzhou, there are many high-rise buildings. This is one of the largest cities in the northwestern region. People come and go on the Zhongshan Bridge, the night falls, and the lights gradually light up.
