[Appetisers]
Kinda regret ordering just one lava croissant cuz it was so BOMB 🤯 The flavorful soup was more liquidy than expected and flowed right out when we cut the flaky croissant open, so we would suggest eating it immediately after served 🫠
The vinegar dressing added a bright tangy twist to the salad, effectively stimulating our appetite 🥗
[Mains]
The Chinese e-fu noodles definitely gave a unique twist to the lobster pasta. Compared to the typical spaghetti, the noodle texture was softer and spongier while soaking up the rich sauce really well. Highly recommended 👏🏻
The wagyu beef cheeks were so tender that they literally just melted in our mouths while the mashed potatoes were ultra buttery 🥔🧈
[Desserts]
The baked custard in the creme brulee was very velvety, contrasting sharply to the crackly caramelised top layer in terms of taste. The 🫐berry base was a delightful surprise too!
The cheesecake had a thick creamy texture with a layer of tart berry sauce on top and crushed cookie crumbs on the bottom 👍🏻

Private quiet bar in Hong Kong CBD
Bar: The Eav’s Place
Address: 12 On Wo Lane, Central (the staircase next to Kau Kee Beef Brisket)
To enter: please call to book beforehand as there may not be people inside if there is no booking. Also you’ll need to ring the door bell or knock on the door when you arrive.
If you have been to bars in Hong Kong, you will know no matter which day it is, they are hardly quiet. This is different - it’s so hidden and low-key that only people in the circle know about it. If you walk past it you will hardly know it’s a bar, and that it is open for business.
There is only enough space for 10-20 people inside on the ground floor, but there is a second floor with the same capacity as well. About 6-8 types of snacks in season are available and very delicious. Suitable for private gathering or a small scale event!

excellent stay at the Figo
Booked 4 nights Queen studio & got upgraded to SUITE plus high floor! Got separate bedroom & living room. With balcony for better view (indoor only; exit blocked for safety)
Love the floor- not carpet & easily clean. Also like the 4/F common area with Chang beer & soda. Downstairs with lots of old shops & plenty of food choice. All in all a very satisfying stay!

Home A Day cafe
The newly opened Cafe in Sheung Wan has a lot of choices from Lunch Menu, but many of them are Chinese style. Try the fried rice with foie gras and beef fillet.
There are other special drink options besides coffee. When I asked the manager about the taste of the special drink, she asked the barista to explain it to me👍. The beautiful girl barista added 3 petals to the whole cup of Rose Latte than me , it is Specially for Me The drink is super fragrant and delicious.

Iconic pork chop rice
Known for its iconic pork chop rice, For Kee is the CCT (cha chaan teng) to go for local comfort food when you’re in Sheung Wan 😉
There was a long line of regulars and tourists when we came for late lunch, but luckily the queue moved quite quickly 🥹 All the staff were really friendly and accommodating - plus there’s even an English menu for foreigners
[𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞]
The pork chop was ridiculously tender and substantial while I absofreakinlutely LOVE soy sauce on plain old white rice 😍 Our only complaint is that they could have added in some veggies to make this a more balanced meal 😕
[𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐨 & 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐍𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐥𝐞]
Tbh we were a little disappointed by this as the tomato soup was not rich nor flavorful enough ☹️ It’s best to stick to Sing Heung Yuen instead (just a 7-min walk away) 🤭
[𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐤 & 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭]
I was craving for something sweet to end our meal, but I accidentally mixed up regular toast with French toast when ordering 🫣 Oh well, I still enjoyed the thick crunchy bread coated with sweet condensed milk and peanut butter 😝 Apparently you can get all 4 toppings (butter and jam) if you’re up for it 🤣

Buying stamps at Man Wa Lane (Chop Street)
Yesterday, I went to Chop Street and placed the order for my stamps. I came back today at 11am and they were ready for pickup!
I went to the nearby Starbucks on Rumsey Street beforehand as I had to write some cards before picking up the stamps, so I had a drink whilst I sat down at the table. It looked quite nice at the nearby millenium plaza!
Chop Street is the perfect place to go if you are a businessman looking to buy stamps, or if you are a tourist looking to buy some souvenir stamps.
I recommend 苑金王 刻印貿易公司
(Fan's E & P Trading Co.). It the shop at the end of this part of chop street on the right, just before the road. The owner was very helpful and was able to finish it on time within one day. I had asked around for prices, and another stall asked for $400 each for a stamp with no design (just the name). This shop gave me a good deal of $400 for two, coming with a nice box and ink.
Afterwards, I took the tram from Man Wa Lane to Pedder street before taking the train home.

Nacasa Cafe & Bar (Sheung Wan)
A great place to chill with friends, @nacasa is a cozy moroccan-style cafe and bar in Sheung Wan with pastries (vol-au vent and sour bread) that way surpassed our expectations!
[𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐕𝐨𝐥 𝐀𝐮 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭]
You can never go wrong with guacamole, but this was just on a whole ‘nother level. Perfect for sharing, the creamy avocado chunks on top of the warm puff pastries was simply comfort food at its finest 💯
[𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤, 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐠𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐛 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐞]
This dish was great value for money with generous portions of quality ingredients 🤤 The soft pulled pork and fluffy scrambled eggs went well together while the sour bread toast had a desirable crusty yet airy texture. The ‘side’ tartare was equally noteworthy with fresh crab meat and avocado overload 🥑
[𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐬]
While both fruit smoothies were refreshing and enjoyable, we preferred the banana 🍌 and seasonal fruit (blueberry 🫐 and strawberry🍓 ) one more, as it had a more complex taste compared to the one-dimensional mango 🥭

Honjo (Sheung Wan)
@honjohk from @piratagroup may be a little off the beaten track, but they definitely live up to their promise of ‘attentive service, extraordinary food and memorable dining experience’ 👍🏻
We came here for Restaurant Week last year ($198pp) and got to try several of their signature Japanese fusion dishes without breaking the bank 🏦
Here’s a highlight of our favorites:
[𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐮𝐟𝐟]
The crispy tapioca puffs filled with salmon bits and avocado were simply a work of art. Squeeze a bit of lemon juice for an extra burst of flavor 🍋
[𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐚]
The seasonal assortment included pumpkin, onions and broccolini coated in thin crunchy batter and deep fried to a fine golden color 🎃
[𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐢]
The soft moist salmon fillet was glazed in sweet teriyaki sauce and the charred lime added a subtle smokiness to the meat 🐟
[𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐚]
MUST ORDER! The gooey molten lava center was sinfully scrumptious while the vanilla ice cream and sesame soba cracker complemented the matcha flavor like a match made in heaven 👼🏻

Not One Less Coffee (Sheung Wan)
Hidden down a lower alley in Sheung Wan, @not_one_less_coffee is a cafe by day and bar by night. We came for a weekend lunch and had such a great time enjoying the delicious Japanese-style food, learning about hand-drip coffee and even walking their cute dog Woahwoah.
[Tonkatsu Set, Shrimp Tempura Set & Japanese Mackerel Set]
Each set came with a miso soup full of tofu and seaweed, a side dish (sesame octopus or garlic periwinkle) and a bowl of sakura shrimp rice.
The crispy tonkatsu had two pan-fried dumplings and three small satsumaimo (Japanese sweet potatoes) on the side while the various shrimp tempura was paired with huge slices of pork and caramelized onions. The grilled mackerel had a soft flesh and squeezing the lemon juice enhanced the natural flavor of the fish.
[Mount Fuji Origini]
This took longer to be served as it seemed almost every table ordered the #instagrammable origini, but it was definitely worth the wait! The blue one was stuffed with crab meat and flying fish roe while the pink one had pork floss inside.
[Pineapple Sorbet with Sakura Daifuku]
Only pineapple flavor was available when we visited, which was a good thing as we probably wouldn’t have been able to make up our minds (other flavors include coconut, peach and pomelo). The tanginess of the pineapple made the frosty sorbet extra refreshing, which contrasted well with the sweet red bean paste in the pretty daifukus.
[Hand Drip Coffee]
After we had finished our mains, a barista came to our table. The whole interaction felt like a mini workshop. We got to watch the coffee being prepared right at our table, which was a full sensory experience.
We tried 3 unique flavors that all had surprising aftertastes that changed when the coffee cooled down, but we unanimously preferred the one that had warm floral notes of jasmine tea and yuzu.

Growing up in Hong Kong was an experience we will never forget. The bright city lights, the island hikes, the beaches, the culture, the food!!...it will always be my first home, but definitely not my last.⠀
When it comes to food, I’m loyal to a steamed bun filled with pork or veggies (baozi) to get us through the morning, but Hong Kong breakfasts still have a special place in my heart - just look at this hearty delight!⠀

Michaela (@uncoveringcities) The restaurant is small, but it is not a small one. This restaurant was the first restaurant opened overseas by the Swedish-based Michelin two-star chef Bjrn Frantzen. The restaurant is decorated with a touch of local simplicity, lines, bronze, and warm wood, with a touch of gray, adding a comfortable and elegant character to the restaurant itself. The chef will introduce you to the materials used in the dish and how to cook. I only knew chicken after reading the menu, so I ordered this dish. The result- After the chef said a big pass, the waiter translated it to me; this is a bird. Excuse me! The bird! I ordered the chicken! It turned out to be a kind of game, guinea fowl. This dish is made from French guinea fowl, including French wild mushrooms, as well as some dried fruits and truffles. A small piece of black is the crown of the chicken. The taste is delicious, but things are a little less, and it may be concentrated. Address: No. 11 Shangjie Street, Shanghuan (the intersection of Shangjie Street and Taipingshan Street). Transportation: Sheung Wan MTR Station a2 exit, 15 minutes walk. Business hours: Tuesday to Saturday: 5:30 pm - 12:00 am. Recommended: pan-fried guinea fowl.
【Sheung Wan】Silver Mine Bake: A Popular Branch of Mui Wo Mochi King.
When you pass by the Sheung Wan branch of Mui Wo Mochi King—Silver Mine Bake, the name includes Silver Mine Bay from Mui Wo🌅. In addition to its convenient location, which allows mochi fans to enjoy without traveling far to Mui Wo, the Sheung Wan branch also has its own workshop, offering freshly made mochi at specific times every day😋.
I tried four flavors this time: original, pork floss, cheese, and chocolate. The original flavor has a soft exterior and a chewy heart, truly representing the traditional taste🥰. The pork floss flavor is surprisingly delightful, with the salty pork floss wrapped inside, creating an interesting contrast with the sweet exterior🤩.
The cheese mochi combines traditional and modern tastes, filled with cheese that spreads its rich flavor in your mouth as you bite down, intoxicating the senses🧀. The chocolate flavor is the most surprising; the aroma and sweetness of the chocolate burst in your mouth upon biting, irresistible🍫.

Hong Kong Exhibition → It turns out that stars can really be plucked from the sky
Kim Tschang-Yeul's solo exhibition 'Night Dreams, Good Luck' not only features his most iconic wood-based mother-of-pearl series with marine landscapes, parts of seascapes in window frames, and books and items on bookshelves, but also introduces nine new works and the 'Night Dreams, Good Luck' series, depicting pearl-like nightscapes in his paintings. Kim Tschang-Yeul's continuous exploration of material philosophy resonates with traditional East Asian heritage, allowing us to feel metaphysical thoughts, the intersection of art and nature in a modern context.
The core of 'Night Dreams, Good Luck' is the universe, the ocean, and the dwelling, symbolizing the infinite connection between humanity and nature. It includes the Confucian classics 'I Ching' and 'Doctrine of the Mean', which discuss the three perspectives of heaven, earth, and humanity, emphasizing that humans are born from heaven and earth and should live in harmony with nature. Kim explores the themes of heaven, earth, and space-time, tirelessly seeking new ways to express the essence and eternity of materials, marveling at the universe's miraculous creations.
In the new series, the nightscapes depicted by Kim consist of the vast universe, rotating cosmos, and lights, achieving another level of sublimation. 'Beauty' means a static objective quality, while 'Sublime' signifies the flowing elemental power that transcends human understanding, like nature using its power to expand our imagination.
The spiraling light is one of the recurring themes in 'A Profound Space'. In the philosophical concept of the spirit, human nature is irrational and chaotic. The spiral symbolizes the cycle of constant creation and destruction, the process of 'becoming', and the necessary condition for inspiring action and the continuation of life. Moreover, the cosmic heat at the center of the spiral emits light to the mountains below, fueling the activities of the universe and humanity. The metaphysics of cosmic aesthetics expressed in Kim Tschang-Yeul's landscape paintings further reveal the essence of beauty that transcends life and death.

High-Quality Australian Abalone Set for Two
The teppanyaki restaurant in Sheung Wan has a great environment and service. It's suitable for dining with friends or even for business meals with clients. Today, we tried the Australian abalone set for two. First, they show you the ingredients, which are very fresh.
The appetizer is a cucumber roll with salmon roe, refreshing and full of the salmon roe's flavor.
Then comes the teppanyaki part. The Australian abalone is huge, cooked in three different ways, creating layers of texture. First is the sliced method, with abalone liver sauce and kelp. Then, the diced method, which is very refreshing and has a bouncy texture. Finally, the abalone's edge, with a soft and tender texture. Three ways to enjoy it.
The seasonal seafood is razor clams with sakura shrimp, fresh and crisp. The tilefish is grilled with its scales on, making it tender and the scales crispy. Clams cooked in sake are sweet and carry a hint of the wine's fragrance.
The beef is thick-cut and thin-cut American beef. The thick-cut has a rich flavor and is juicy, especially when eaten with garlic slices. The thin-cut is cooked to medium-rare, tender and fragrant wrapped with scallions and garlic. Eating it with raw egg makes it even smoother.
Next are the stir-fried mixed vegetables, soup, pickles, and fried rice with a poached egg. For dessert, there's caramel toast which is very crispy. There's also sherbet.

Sheung Wan's Hidden Fusion Cuisine – A Must-Try Extraordinary Seafood Rice
After work, I passed by Hollywood Road and noticed a crowd of foreigners drinking and chatting in front of a restaurant. It turned out to be a newly opened bar and restaurant. So I decided to invite my husband to try something new! The restaurant's decor is stylish and the atmosphere is quite inviting, specializing in fusion cuisine, each dish was a delightful surprise!
Spanish crispy fish $128
This appetizer was very appetizing, fried to a delicious crispiness. The seasoning was somewhat similar to the sauce used in sweet and sour pork, allowing for small, flavorful bites without feeling greasy.
Low-temperature slow-cooked full-blood Australian Wagyu Char Siu $428
Full-blood Australian Wagyu? The name is quite intriguing. A quick Google search revealed that it refers to Wagyu cattle bred from purebred bulls and cows for at least four generations, a rare find ensuring excellent pedigree. The restaurant cooked the Wagyu in the style of Char Siu, which was unexpected! Due to the low-temperature slow cooking, the meat was incredibly tender, and you could clearly see the gradient in the meat! The middle was a tender pink, rich in flavor, with a full beef taste, yet with a hint of Char Siu, quite innovative! The portion was also generous, with two large pieces per person.
SOW Seafood Rice $298
Named after the restaurant, this must be their signature seafood rice dish! Also prepared with a fusion technique – the seafood included oilfish, large prawns, scallops, salmon, and salmon roe, all prepared with a Japanese searing method, each ingredient was fresh and sweet to the taste! What was most unexpected and impressive was the rice at the bottom, reminiscent of Spanish seafood rice, but with the addition of meat sausage, which tasted a bit like Chinese sausage? There was also a hint of black bean flavor? The rice grains were plump and full, soaked with essence, very tantalizing!!
