Trip Moments Recommendations
#The Getty Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
I have found the best shooting locations in Los Angeles and Southern California
After two years, I returned to Los Angeles, and everything still has a familiar taste. Palm trees, sunsets, beaches, are all rare sights on the East Coast. This time, in the last season before the Clippers moved, I got to see the style of the four giants. Several superstars performed steadily and successfully harvested the game against the Raptors in the last quarter.
This time I have completed the shooting of those locations that I did not shoot last time. The post I summarized is a carefully selected complete version, and I have attached the addresses on the pictures and below. All locations are free, and everyone can go there on their own:
P1: Rooftop of Spring Street Community Garden (need aerial photography)
P3: Rooftop of 9101 S Sepulveda Blvd parking building
P10: 6800 Muholland Dr
P11: Hollywood Cross needs aerial photography
P7,14,15 need to go to the corresponding location for aerial photography
This Southern California location summary spanning three years is basically a place where you can take a blockbuster with your mobile phone after you go. If you like it, hurry up and shoot your own blockbuster!
The Getty Center, an art museum at the foot of a mountain, displays a simple architectural style and boasts an outdoor garden. From each exhibition hall, you'll get a panoramic view of Los Angeles. The art collections, landscape design, and architectural sculptures are all worth checking out. There are four buildings here, located in the north, east, south, and west respectively. We advise you to pick up a map upon entering and visit the exhibitions that interest you.

There's not much to see in the downtown skyscrapers of Los Angeles, and there are especially many homeless people, with a pervasive bad smell.
But there are so many upscale wealthy areas around it, where old money families engage in art collection, establish foundations, and generously purchase world artifacts to set up art centers or museums for free public admiration. Even if the family's glory is weathered by the storms, their generous acts benefit future generations. The Getty Center and Getty Villa Museum are breathtaking, proving the wealth of the American empire is no lie.

#losangeles The museum is free to go, but they charge you $25 for parking. They ask you to reserve beforehand the entrance on their website.
The place is amazing. The buildings are impressive, super clean, and well taken care of.
The staff is really helpful and nice. You can walk all the buildings, and each one has different things, some paints, others' sculptures, etc.

A large beautiful museum, definitely worth visiting. It's necessary to reserve a free ticket in advance. At the entrance, you'll be greeted by a shuttle train, beautiful and clean. After that, you'll enter a museum spread across a vast territory. The museum has free guides, and umbrellas are strategically placed everywhere, a cool solution, as you often step out onto the terrace, where you have an unbelievably beautiful view of Los Angeles. This museum is one of my top places, which I visit frequently, and I find it to be an effective way to relax. There are many places where you can enjoy delicious food.
Weekend exhibition in Los Angeles
The Getty Center in Los Angeles is located at the foot of Santa Monica Mountain. Overlooking the panoramic view of Los Angeles, the Getty Center was designed by architect Richard Meier. With its simple lines, bright tones, natural lighting, the integration of indoor atriums and outdoor gardens, the open space embodies a harmonious beauty of delicacy and roughness. JPaul Getty became a millionaire at the age of 23 due to oil, which cultivated his outstanding appreciation of literature and art and his hobby of collecting art. In 1968, he chose a hillside along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu as the museum site. Driving west from downtown Los Angeles, not far north of California Interstate 405, you can see the continuous Santa Monica Mountains. On a cliff 881 feet above sea level on the mountain stands a group of peculiar buildings, which is the famous Getty Center in Los Angeles. It includes a very modern art museum, an art research center, and a beautiful garden.

The Getty Art Center is located in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California, USA, and is one of the most important art institutions in Los Angeles. The Getty Art Center can be called one of the richest art institutions in the world. The institution has invested a lot of funds, collected unique art works from all over the world, and actively devoted itself to the development of various art projects. The Getty Art Center has collected the most exquisite manuscripts and old photos in the United States, and you can see a large number of European paintings, sculptures, decorative arts and European and American photographic art works. You absolutely cannot miss the art gem of Los Angeles - the Getty Center!
You absolutely cannot miss the art gem of this city - the Getty Center!
Architecture: The Getty Center is the location of the Getty Museum and other projects under the Getty Trust. This $1.3 billion museum, completed at the end of the 20th century, is now one of the landmarks of Los Angeles, attracting tourists and art lovers from all over the world. It is famous for its unique architecture, gardens, and views overlooking Los Angeles.
Collection: The J. Paul Getty Museum in the Getty Center has collected European paintings, sketches, sculptures, decorated manuscripts, decorative arts, and photographic works from its creation to the present. These treasures span the ages and bring together masterpieces from around the world. The most impressive gallery, in my opinion, is the Impressionist paintings. Van Gogh's Iris, Monet's (late) Water Lilies, Munch's Night Sky, Renoir's Girls, these well-known works of the Impressionist masters are open to the public for free. In addition to a few permanent exhibitions, there will also be rotating galleries updating new exhibitions from time to time. The most recent (end of 2023) exhibition is William Black's Visionary, a religiously colored exhibition.
Whether immersing in Renaissance paintings or appreciating the creativity of modern sculptures, the Getty Center provides art lovers with a breathtaking experience. This museum is not only a witness to history and culture, but also a cross-temporal art palace, presenting a colorful art journey for visitors.
Ticket price: Free admission. Need to make a reservation in advance. Parking fee is $20.

Getty Center
The Paul Getty Museum in California, USA is divided into two locations, one by the sea and one on the mountain, about ten kilometers apart. The Getty Villa Museum is located in Pacific Palisades on the Pacific coast and was opened to the public in 1954. With the continuous increase of Paul Getty's collection, he built a replica of a Roman rural villa from the first century AD, which was opened to the public in 1974, mainly exhibiting artifacts from ancient Greece, ancient Rome, and Etruria, with a collection of about 44,000 pieces. The Getty Center is located on a small hilltop 270 meters above sea level in the Santa Monica Mountains about 25 kilometers west of downtown Los Angeles. After thirteen years of design and construction, it was opened to the public in 1997. It mainly exhibits European paintings, sculptures, furniture, decorative arts, and photography, with a collection of about 50,000 pieces.
This is the artwork "Boy with Frog" that artist Charles Ray and his team of art production experts spent years creating and assembling to ensure that every detail was just right, from the boy's fingernails to the frog's skin. Ray photographed a boy holding a live amphibian and then scanned these images to create a three-dimensional digital model. His team used modeling software to refine the sculpture's design. "Boy with Frog" was completed in 2008 and installed at the Getty Center in 2011, where it is still on display.
Frameless exhibition
Meet Van Gogh and Monet at the Getty Center~ Surprisingly, these authentic works of art are not framed with glass, and every painting allows for a clear view of the various textures that intersect, undulate, and fluctuate between roughness and smoothness.
I wonder if this great artistic atmosphere has had even the slightest bit of influence on everyone [sighing].
Located in Los Angeles, the Getty Center has always been a paradise-like place.
The Getty Center, which is far from the city center where modern art museums are concentrated and creates a unique world of its own, mainly exhibits European art masterpieces, decorative arts, and photographic artworks.
Soak up the warm California sun at the Getty Center, enjoy indoor and outdoor exhibitions, and spend a leisurely day - there's no doubt that it's a great destination for living and traveling in Los Angeles.
Museum on top of mountain

The Getty Center Los Angeles is located in the Santa Monica Mountains. While the parking lot is on street level, Once you park your car you have to take a (free) futuristic-looking tram to get there.
At the end of the Getty Museum tram ride is the Getty Center. It’s not just one building, but a collection of several pavilions in the same style of which some are linked to each other so that you can walk from one building to the other without stepping outside.
All of these buildings are positioned around a central square from where you can reach the garden. The garden isn’t that big, but it’s very well kept and offers amazing views over Los Angeles.
What I really liked about the Getty was the variety in its exhibitions and I highly recommended this to everyone .
The Getty is Steady!
Amazing experience at the Getty! if you have not gone you should go whenever visiting LA! wonderful art great items from 500BC insane! Go with friend or family! Believe me you will not run out of things to view! It might get chilly so bring a sweater.
Getty museum is the best museum
love the architecture design!
Getty Center located in Los Angeles, California, United States of America 🇺🇸. The location is just off the San Diego Freeway in the Santa Monica Mountains, overlooking Los Angeles, California and the Pacific Ocean...
The architect of the building is Richard Meier, one of the well-known architect in the world...
This is the place that is rich with resources for art and cultural heritage...
It is more than a museum. It is a campus that encompasses research libraries, museum conservation programs, administration offices, and grant institutions as well as an art museum open to the public...
What’s one word to describe the Getty Museum? Massive! One might be able to see every single section and exhibit inside the museum for two whole days or more. Loads of interesting things to see but the best would be the view #california #usa
#wintergetaway
Going to Getty Center on weekends, there are still quite a lot of people. This is an art museum built on a hill, more like a large garden with many oil paintings and artworks. I love it because it is a place where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Los Angeles.
Getty Center does not require an appointment. After exiting the parking lot, it will go through security check and then make a ferry car up the mountain. The security checkpoint can get the explanation of the itinerary of the day, and can follow the above time to listen to the staff to explain.
Parking: 15/time
opening hours: Tuesday to Friday Friday, Sunday: 10:00am-5:30pm, Saturday: 10:00am-9:00pm, Monday and some important The festival is closed.
