octavia.serene.morgenstern Complete Guide to the Viral Check-in at Yuyuan Lantern Festival 2024
Shanghai Yuyuan, 📍located in Huangpu District, Shanghai, is a dazzling pearl of Shanghai. Yuyuan is not only a historical and cultural card of Shanghai, but also a treasure of Chinese culture. The 2024 Yuyuan Lantern Festival will come as scheduled, let's step into this dreamy world of light and shadow together!✨
Yuyuan Lantern Festival, one of the oldest lantern festivals in China, attracts countless tourists every year. The 2024 lantern festival will be even more dazzling, and the colored lanterns themed on Shanhai Jing will bring you a visual feast.🏮🏮
At present, only the carp on the main street has been lit up, but it is already amazing, looking forward to this year's lantern festival. Many dragon shapes are very beautiful.

Many are still under renovation, if you want to see the complete version, it is best to come after the 15th, it is estimated that it will be fully constructed by then.🔥🔥
Yuyuan Garden is beautiful, but I advise everyone not to go there recently, especially those with children
Yuyuan Garden's lantern festival has recently blown up the circle of friends again, it looks so beautiful that I can't help but go to check in.
However, the actual look is slightly disappointing. First of all, the beautiful lanterns are concentrated on a short street on Wenchang Street. The photos show probably all the beauty.
The layout of the central square has not been completely completed, it looks like a dark piece, and there is no exciting clip. The Nine-Turn Bridge did not light up, and there were still a lot of people.
It is estimated that it will take some time to complete all the arrangements, and there are too many people on holidays. The child slept on his father's shoulder all the way. I advise everyone to wait for a while, avoid holidays and weekends and then go.
The Yuyuan Lantern Festival is stunningly beautiful, a real-life version of 'Big Fish & Begonia' photography guide
You can always trust the Chinese-style romance of Yuyuan‼️
How to describe how beautiful this year's Yuyuan Lantern Festival is? Probably just a casual shot and post on your Moments could get tons of likes! Although the lantern festival is not fully set up yet, just this 'Fish and Dragon Dance in One Night' themed street is shocking enough! I think the design is clever in that it 'looks like a school of fish up close, but like a dragon head from afar'. Chinese aesthetics are too amazing! I really can't help but take a photo in advance.
📷Photography tips:
☑️A proper wide angle gives a sense of extension, the standard focal length of the phone can take it, I mostly used 35 1.4 to shoot.
☑️Whether shooting with a phone or a camera, you can bring a portable fill light, which is useful when shooting portraits.
☑️There are many lantern-viewing tourists, so it's difficult to take clean street shots; for portrait shooting, choose a low shooting position, blur the passers-by appropriately, actually the feeling of a crowd is more festive.
☑️You can prepare some props, such as lanterns, candied haws, which are very festive. Prepare in advance or buy at Yuyuan on site.
☑️Hanfu really matches Yuyuan💯, it feels like the prosperous Tang Dynasty; for ordinary tourists, keep it simple, actually the new Chinese style is also a good choice, like I chose the popular 'Western-styled Miss' look this year.
☑️The second floor of Yuyuan Mall is a popular shooting spot, with a long focus of 200 or more you can shoot the distant 'Big Fish & Begonia' (I didn't bring it so I didn't shoot😅). But the entrance of Piye Coffee is also good for shooting, there are many girls taking portraits and you need to queue up~😅
The main lantern of the Nine-Turn Bridge is still being set up, it's also stunning to see during the day! I heard that it will officially light up after January 20th.

A heaven for chocolate lovers 📍Yu Garden
Strolling around Yuyuan Garden bazaar, i was lucky to spot the Chocolate Museum (free entrance) were as a chocolate lover i knew i had to discover the inside.
There you find amazing sculptures made entirely of chocolate, carefully carved to look almost as if at any time they will move. Not only you find animal sculptures but also famous paintings made entirely out of chocolate, such as some Van Gogh works of art.
You will also find the history about chocolate in a hallway, where information was strategically curated to catch your attention and make you curious about it to keep reading it. At the end of the hall you find a exquisite chocolate shop where you can find hundreds of varieties of chocolate and see chefs in an open kitchen in the making of them.
A must visit spot when in Yu Garden and Bazaar.

📌"Yuyuan Garden" 豫园
📍Address: 279 Yu Yuan Lao Jie, 四牌楼 Huangpu, Shanghai
“Yuyuan Garden” was developed in the late 1500s during the Ming Dynasty. It was what most foreign tourists imagined as a “traditional Chinese garden”.
Yu Yuan features six scenic areas, namely the Sansui Hall, the Wanhua Chamber, the Dianchun Hall, the Huijing Hall, the Yuhua Hall, and the Inner Garden. Each scenic area boasts its own unique sights and is separated from each other by dragon walls with undulating gray-tiled ridges, each terminating in a dragon’s head. The entire complex is beautifully made up of all the different elements that a classical Chinese garden should have. From traditional Chinese architecture, sculptures, and carvings to pavilions, lotus ponds, rockeries, bridges, and dragon walls, you can admire the beauty and grandeur of Yu Yuan from different corners of the garden.

Yu Garden , the garden of happiness.
The best time of year to visit Yu Garden in Shanghai, China is during the spring and autumn seasons. During these times, the weather is mild and comfortable, with temperatures ranging from around 10 to 25 degrees Celsius (50 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit). The gardens are also at their most beautiful during these seasons, with blooming flowers and colorful foliage.
In the spring, visitors can enjoy the cherry blossoms and other flowers in bloom, while in the autumn, the gardens are filled with vibrant autumn colors as the leaves change. The months of April, May, September, and October are generally considered the best times to visit Yu Garden.
However, it's important to note that these are also the peak tourist seasons, so the gardens may be crowded during these times. If you prefer a quieter experience, you may want to consider visiting the gardens during the winter months, when the crowds are smaller but the weather can be chilly.

Yu Garden
We spent the morning in the area and had free time in the afternoon to make a trip to Yu Garden. I have been there once before in 2010 after visiting the Shanghai expo but I it was still a nice#travel experience to go again. We could even see some cherry blossom already as the weather is warmer in Shanghai than Beijing. We paid 30 rmb to enter the garden and it was well worth the ticket price. #travel #shanghai #themepark
