The Ritan, also known as the Asahi Temple, is located at No. 6 Ritan North Road, Chaowai Street, Chaoyang District, Beijing, covering an area of 20.62 hectares, and was built in Ming Jiajing in nine years (1530). The Temple of the Sun is the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties sacrificed the Sun (God of the Ming), and consists of Beitianmen, Shufu Temple, Xitianmen, Shenlu and Tank Temple. The outer wall of the Temple of the Sun is round and the countertop is square. It follows the design principle of the "Tianyuan Place". The Temple of the Sun and the Temple of Heaven, the Temple of the Earth, the Temple of the Moon and the Temple of the Society are listed as five monuments in Beijing, and it is also one of the nine temples in Beijing. There is a Temple of the Sun Park outside the Temple of the Sun. In 1951, the Beijing Municipal People's Government decided to renovate the Ritan Temple and expand the Ritan Park by the Ritan Temple. In October 1969, the Ritan Park was built and the remains of the Ritan Temple and other monuments were opened to the public. From 1983 to 1985, the Ritan Temple was restored. On September 9, 2010, the Ritan Temple renovation project was launched. The renovations include ancient buildings such as the altar (tank) altar wall, the shrine, the sacrificial library, the gate of the costume hall and the courtyard wall, the west Tianmen, the north Tianmen, the seven temples, the Eid al-Saudi Pavilion, the gate of the temple and the courtyard wall. On March 3, 2011, the National Cultural Relics Administration agreed to set up projects for the renovation of the temple and the temple. On March 29, the same year, the project was set up for the renovation of the Ritan Bell Tower. In 2013, the renovation of the Ritan Bell Tower was completed, the second-story structure was restored, and the imitation clock was placed in it. In 2015, the National Bureau of Cultural Relics agreed to the project of the renovation of the Ritan Shenku, Shenchu and the ground of the courtyard. On June 30, 2021, the Ritan Shenku, Shenchu, and the ground of the courtyard began to be repaired.
