The former site of the Suihua Uprising is a key cultural relics protection unit in the country. Founded in the Qing Dynasty, it was originally built by the local villagers to raise funds to build the "Xuanjun Temple". Qing Guangxu was changed to a school in 29 years, and Xuantong was changed to Gaotang Elementary School in the first year of the year. In the early 1920s, Communist Party member Li Weijun was the principal of Gaotang Elementary School and engaged in revolutionary activities here. In May 1928, after the outbreak of the Suihua Uprising, Liu Zhidan, Tang Yu and other leaders of the Suihua Uprising were here to organize and direct the uprising. It also became the seat of the military committee and headquarters of the Northwest Workers and Peasants Revolutionary Army. The old site covers an area of 8,757 square meters. Retained the four former residences of the leaders of the uprising at that time. After liberation, in order to remember the revolutionary martyrs, carry forward the spirit of the uprising, and reproduce the magnificent historical picture of the uprising. In 1958, the People's Government of Huaxian County carried out comprehensive maintenance and transformation of the former site of the uprising headquarters. Comrade Wang Feng, then vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, wrote the name of the old site for the memorial. In May 1988, on the 60th anniversary of the Suihua Uprising, the memorial was built and opened to the public.
