The history here has been very long, the people here have been fishing near here a long time ago, and a small city has been built on it, mainly to resist foreign enemies from the sea, about 100 years earlier than the Lipu side.

Haimen Island is located at the sea exit of the Jiulong River, north of Xiamen Seagulls, west of Zhangzhou Longhai, the island is shuttle-shaped, about twice the area of Gulangyu Island, the same island, and the world-famous Gulangyu Island, inferior to many, even can be said to lack fame. The original fishing village style on the island, my first impression is that the peace is beautiful, the rhythm is very slow. Due to the inconvenience of transportation on the island, compared with Gulangyu Island, which is also an island, it has less fame, prosperity and impetuousness, but it retains the original pastoral scenery like a peach blossom source and the style of the southern fishing village. The villagers are mainly fishing, breeding and planting. Fishing and farming are read, and the folk customs are simple. Not far from the toll station, there is a "grassland", said to be a piece of grass grown after the return of farming, there are leisurely grass cattle on it. The environment away from the hustle and bustle of the island makes people feel particularly comfortable and feels really good. It is difficult to imagine that more than ten kilometers away from the island is the bustling downtown Xiamen. Waves, tidal flats, ancient rafts, docks, fishing boats constitute the fishing village style on the island. In cloudy weather, strolling on the edge of the pier, the fresh sea breeze mixed with a hint of salty smell, fishermen eat by the sea, and the slightly vicissitudes of fishing boats on the edge of the pier seem to tell the story of fishermen struggling in the sea. The tidal flat on the edge of the pier also has dense holes. I took a closer look at the original crab hole. I took a closer look. There are many small crabs crawling around. It is better to say that it is rolling. It is very interesting. This can't help but remind me of the good memories of catching small crabs with my grandmother on the beach next to Gusheng Road on Gulangyu Island 20 years ago. The tidal flats after the low tide can catch small crabs. It is very fun. Now due to development reasons, The beach (near the current Neicao pier) has no crabs, and on Haimen Island, I have recaptured my childhood crabs. In addition to the seaside, the ancient houses on the island are also worth savoring. Most of the ancient houses on the island were built in the Qing Dynasty, and the traditional architectural style of southern Anhui for the red brick swallowtail saddle ridge has a rustic beauty. Stopping in a deep alley, it seems to return to the old fishing village life, no noise, no more noise, find a rare calm. As an islander of Gulangyu Island, walking on the island made me unconsciously compare Haimen Island with Gulangyu Island. Although the island has not been developed and is not known, on the other hand, it has avoided the erosion of commercialization, retaining the original fishing village and unique tranquility, and perhaps it is a lucky thing for the island. I miss the time before Gulangyu was overdeveloped 20 years ago. After a round of shopping on the island, because it was too late, I set off to return to Xiamen and ended my unforgettable trip to Haimen Island.

Two villages on Haimen Island, Haishan Village with mangroves, and Haiping Village with small beaches. Basically no development. Usually work pressure is high, and it is not beautiful to bring the whole family to step on the soil to eat seafood and fish and blow the sea breeze.

Haimen Island is located under the Xiamen Bridge and belongs to the jurisdiction of the Floating Palace Town. The scenery is very beautiful, at the beach and the seafood is also very good. There are many seafood restaurants here, which are very authentic.
