Photos of Heihu Spring

The Heihu Spring is one of the 4 major springs in Jinan. Beneath shades of trees, it is connected to the ancient city moat on the east side of the square and stands opposite the Liberation Pavilion. Only second to Baotu Spring, its water volume ranks 2nd among other springs in Jinan. The imposing Heihu spring is a natural cave with a depth of 3 meters. At night, the sound of Heihu spring is like a tiger howling from a distance, hence the name Heihu (black tiger). The spring water rushes into the square pool, where the water is clear with fresh algae floating around. Then the water goes into the city moat and eventually forms a waterfall. The Heihu Spring has become a great scenic spot in Huancheng park.
