Easy to find the location. The owner were very understanding and kind since we arrived almost late from the check in time, they speak english. The view were so beautiful especially at night. There is an in-house police in the building as well as 711 convenience store. And outside there are lots of convenience store to be found. The train station is very near too. And also the elavator is very spacious.

The Good People Hostel where I stayed this time is about a 12-15 minute walk from Hualien Bus Station and Hualien Station. The rooms are suitable for resting and sleeping. In this special environment, combined with the convenient nearby amenities, I believe everyone will have a good stay.

It is located right next to Hualien Train Station, but it is the West Exit instead of the Main Exit. You need to walk pass a pedestrian bridge located inside Hualien Station to get to this exit.
The hotel itself is very clean and cozy. It has quite a few convenient stores nearby, and it also provides free snacks and fruit for customers.
One thing to take note is, the hotel door is not a magnetic lock, instead it is a conventional key lock. So don’t expect the door to lock by itself when you go out. But this might sometimes be a plus point because you don’t need to be worried about the situation where you being locked outside and forgot to bring your room key.

The Japanese-speaking staff are very responsive to inquiries, kind, and provide helpful extra information. The hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean. On the first floor, there's a hot water dispenser with complimentary coffee, oolong tea, green tea, and jasmine tea. The location is excellent, with easy access to Taichung Second Market and Taichung Park. Miyahara, Chun Shui Tang (the original store), and Taichung Station are all within walking distance. The nearest convenience store is about 200m east across the street.
The downsides are that the bath towels in the room show a lot of wear, and the bathroom shelf is a bit crooked. There are no amenities, so you need to bring your own. A morning stroll to Taichung Park is lovely and makes you feel like a local.

I really like this dorm, all the things are very tidy and clean, and till the night after 10pm (the lights are all shutting down) all the girls are just tryna keep ourselves quiet😂to not to disturb others. The shower hot water is great, and the hair dryer is from dyson, strong wind and condition good.
Thanks a lot!!!

I used this place for a solo trip. Towels cost extra; I think a bath towel was 50 NTD. Depending on when you check in, they might have someone who speaks Japanese. I was given instructions in English. Check-out is super easy, just return the key to the front desk.

A great choice for a solo trip. I was assigned a 4-person room, and it was the one furthest inside, away from the common areas, so I wasn't bothered by noise. Though, the other guests were generally quiet anyway. The bed frames are made of metal rods, and I was on the top bunk, so every time I climbed the ladder, the bed would creak. I was afraid to use the restroom at night because getting on and off the bed would disturb my roommates. Each room has a locker for each person that unlocks with a key card, which is great for storing belongings. Snacks are provided daily; I'd grab a 'Wang Wang' cracker every day, but you have to get them in the evening because by the time I woke up late in the morning, they were all gone. There's a water dispenser, which is very convenient for staying hydrated. The restrooms and toilets were very clean, which I really appreciated. Laundry facilities are available; you can buy laundry pods from the staff for 10 TWD, which is very cheap. I did laundry once, and it worked well. On check-out day, they can store your luggage for you. There were male staff members working.
It's conveniently located less than a 10-minute walk from the bus terminal.
The room is on the second floor, spacious, and clean. Free tea and coffee are available on the first floor.
Even before check-in, you can enter the entrance, and since there's information about Wi-Fi and Line, I contacted them and they gave me the password for the key box, allowing me to enter the room.
The bed curtains are thick and double-layered, giving a strong sense of privacy.

I cannot recommend this place. I wanted to treat myself to something nice, but woke up in the middle of the night with a headache, as my room was running out of air. None of the windows open! I tried all settings of the AC, which required me to call my wife in China, as it was all in Chinese, but still there was never enough fresh air. I then cancelled my booking.
Also, the floor-to-ceiling windows only work if you are on the 5th floor. I was on the second floor, basically street level and had eye contact with construction workers on the street. In that context, smaller windows would have been better, as you are basically seen by everyone passing by on the street (see photos).

Conveniently located within a short walking distance from the Hualien train and bus stations, this accommodation offers easy access for travelers. The front desk staff were polite, friendly, and always helpful whenever we approached them for directions or recommendations.
One thoughtful touch was the Hualien Food Guide folder provided by the hotel, which was especially useful for my family when deciding where to eat and exploring local specialties.
The room was spacious, and the bathroom was exceptionally large with a reliable supply of hot water. We also appreciated the good soundproofing, which made our stay comfortable and restful.
If you are visiting Hualien, it is advisable to bring mosquito repellent, as there tend to be quite a number of mosquitoes in the area.

MMJ FERNThe location is super convenient—just a short walk from Taipei Main Station, which made getting around the city and to the airport so easy. I always felt safe even when coming back a bit late, which is a huge plus when you’re traveling alone.
The place itself is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the common areas are nice if you want to relax or meet other travelers. What stood out the most was how accommodating and friendly the staff were—they’re always ready to help with directions, recommendations, or anything you need.
As a female solo traveler, safety and comfort are everything, and Main Inn definitely delivered. It has a welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home while still being budget-friendly.
Highly recommend this place if you’re planning a solo trip to Taipei 💛
GGuest UserThis is a really cosy place. I really love my room. Clean and modern interior. The only downside might be the location. It's close to the train station. But there isn't much nearby for food. Probably best to rent a scooter to explore Taitung anyway to make your stay more convenient. They are plenty of scooter shops near the train station too.
SSiva Rama 256Check in takes only 5 minutes and check out much more faster with 10 seconds with a self check out machine that will suck in your room card.
Check in gets faster with your reply to the property telling them what type of room you have booked and what time you'll arrive. With booming businesses and too many bookings, the staff might get entangled in mess, so partially you reply is helping them to get grounded and avoid mistakes.
The property is clean, neat, nice and next to easy transport and family mart and 7e.

AAnonymous UserThe room design is great, the breakfast is delicious, the landlady's service staff are friendly and provide all kinds of inquiries. The room is clean, tidy and comfortable. The hotel is also in a great location, very close to the beach.
NNguyen Do Nha UyenAfter coming back from Taiwan, I suddenly realized I hadn’t posted any photos or written a review about the adorable wooden cabin our family stayed in at Jiufen. Everyone in my family loved this place so much that I had to jot everything down now that I finally have some free time.
Most people I know usually stay in Taipei longer and just make a day trip to Jiufen without spending the night. As for me—I’ve lived in Hong Kong for quite a while, so compared to Hong Kong, Taipei didn’t leave much of an impression on me in terms of sights or food. The only thing that truly made me want to visit Taiwan was Jiufen — a sparkling little gem between the mountains and the sea 🏮🌿🌊
Jiufen feels like a dreamy fairytale village with its winding narrow alleys, steep stone stairways, and the warm glow of red lanterns everywhere. Walking around felt like stepping into another world, almost like a scene from a manga — especially for anyone who’s watched Spirited Away.

⭐🛖 Review of the wooden cabin called Twilight Forest in Jiufen
Just a 5-minute walk from the Old town, this wooden cabin brings together the warm glow of wood and the peaceful feeling of retreating into nature. It has a unique A-frame design, and at night, when the lights turn on, the whole place becomes incredibly cozy — the golden light shining through the windows and the plants around it create a “hideaway from the world” kind of vibe.
Inside, the space is open, airy, and tastefully decorated in a rustic style. There’s a small terrace with a swing chair hanging straight from the ceiling — sitting there at night, listening to insects and the wind rustling through the leaves, feels genuinely healing 🙃.
🛁🌿 Highlight: The glass-walled bathroom in the garden
This is the standout feature of the cabin. The bathtub is large and comfortable, placed right next to a 180° glass wall looking directly into a lush green garden. Natural daylight pours in, making your daytime bath feel like an outdoor spa surrounded by plants. (There’s also a roller blind if you need privacy)
Jiufen is a tiny village perched on a mountain, and it doesn’t have many hotels that offer spacious, comfortable accommodations. That’s why I was so happy to find this wooden cabin. Our family had the most wonderful two-night stay here.
If I ever return to Taipei, I would definitely book this place again ❤️
GGuest UserAfter reading other reviews, I was prepared for the worst, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. The pros are its excellent location, just a 5-7 minute walk to Alishan Railway Station. There's parking right in front, which is great for those driving. The breakfast restaurant they partner with is also really good! 👍👍👍 The downside is the poor soundproofing; you occasionally hear footsteps or people talking. However, since I was so tired, I fell asleep quickly, so it didn't bother me much. 🤣🤣🤣
LLAW BKSingle room with shared bathroom. Amenities considered complete. However, poorer ventilation in the room and the washroom. Some bath area is bigger, first come first serve. Generally worth the price especialg weekdays. Slipper was provided and prompt response from counter personnel.
Mmiso_udonnLocation and amenities is unbeatable. There is a lift which was awesome. The basement area is open 24hr to eat and chill out and has free coffee and tea too. Only downside is the mattress. It is very hard, the cushion is non existent, leaving the hard metal springs poking out. It was very uncomfortable to lie on it. This could definitely be easy improved given all the other good conditions
GGuest UserIf you have ever stayed in a capsule hotel before, you know pretty much what to expect. The main drawer of this place is the location. Situated in the heart of Ximen, There are a lot of shops and places to eat that are within easy walking distance. The staff were very helpful upon checking are they created a very good first impression.
The capsules or pods or whatever you want to call them were average in terms of comfort. We stayed in a mixed dorm and the mattresses were very thin so none of us got the best nights sleep. Also the walls are very thin and anytime anybody moved or did anything throughout the night, the noise was very apparent.. however, we were aware of all of this upfront and it totally served its purpose in terms of giving us a place to lay our heads for a few hours before returning home the next day. There are little TVs and electrical outlets in your pod, and while there are USB outlets to charge your electrical devices, both of the ones in my pod did not work. Overall, I would stay here again but not if I was looking for something that offers a high level of comfort or luxury
