2-Star Hotels in Sarawak, Malaysia

I read a lot of bad reviews, but when I stayed there myself it was not as bad as I imagined. The room was ok, but the sheets and towels were a little dirty. The shower water was strong enough, and the staff service was pretty good.

1. Hard to contact. I tried to call, WhatsApp, email. No response at all or left on read. We just want to know if its possible to drop off bag before check out. I know it's not compulsory service, that's why we want to ask just incase. But since we can't reach them, we can't plan our itinerary properly. After arrive, finally they answer our call and told us we cant drop off our luggage. So we had to wait at nearest cafe from 10am-2pm. If we know we cant drop off bag early, we might rent a car for that day. Then, even at 2pm, we still had hard time to contact them. 2. Usually all details to self check in will be given before check in time. But we had to contact them first for them to give the passcode. Again we stranded outside hotel just waiting but just for few minutes. Even we met other guest who standing infront of hotel at 4-5pm something and ask us how to get the passcode. If that person just waiting until midnight, does the hotel gonna wait too? If you cant be reachable, at least be proactive before check in time. 3. Sound of shower from other room is bearable. But the smell of smoke??? What kind of ventilation system is that I can smell smoke from other room? Since my room doesn't have window, yeah I'm just having hard time to breath while awake and while sudden wake up during sleep.

Staffs are very friendly but the facilities at hotel need maintenance. Only 1 out of 3 plugs can be used, only cold shower available after a long day and the solution is technician only available after 8am next day, the bed n aircon has a terrible smell which makes us hard to fall asleep…

Great place to stay! It's close to the airport, perfect for anyone just arriving from Kuching Airport. The cleanliness is satisfactory, and the customer service is friendly and very helpful. It would be even better if there was a money changer nearby. Thanks, Hotel Inn! 😊👍👍

During my recent stay at Maxi Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of luxury and comfort it provided. From the moment I checked in, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, making the process smooth and stress-free. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the attention to detail, like the complimentary toiletries and well-stocked minibar. The hotel's facilities are top-notch. I particularly enjoyed the rooftop pool, which offered stunning views of the city. The breakfast buffet was diverse and delicious, catering to a variety of tastes with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The on-site restaurant also provided an excellent dining experience, with a menu that featured both local and international cuisine. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's location. Situated in the heart of the city, it provided easy access to major attractions, shopping districts, and dining options. Despite being in a bustling area, the room was quiet, allowing for a restful night's sleep. Overall, Maxi Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, it offers a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and luxury. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in the city.

Loved it! The room is not all swanky but it's suitable with AC as we were out and about all the time. Clean room. Comfy bed. From the time we arrived Benarat proved its worth. They came to collect us at the airport, We arrived at the lodge and our itinerary was already planned and  explained to us. Amazing, everything worked like clockwork, Shout out to Anil, the manager. He welcomed us, told us what the next 2 days would involve then we met our guide, the very awesome and great sense of  humor  David the Great. We really loved our two day excursions with him. He not only made the tour informative but fun as well and was an Allstar.. We still think of him with fondness. He made our MuLU experience that much more special. The pool was great after a day of touring the caves. Anil, the manager dropped us back to the airport and made our check in sooo easy. He did all for us. Give the man a raise please. He was amazing and took away the stress of planning because he made sure arrangements were met, when he said the car will collect us at a certain time from the park it arrived EXACTLY on time!!!  we look back on Mulu and the lodge with fondness and great memories. STAY HERE. We will definitely choose it again for the adventure rock climbing tour. David, Anil and the other guides and restaurant staff, thank you for the great memories . 

OUR TEAM FAVOURITE PLACE TO STAY, CLEAN & COMFORTABLE, NEAR TO THE RESTAURANT AND ALL THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY

First of all, it's cheap for a family of 3 to stay there. Convenient location . But first impression we checked into the room is the smell from the toilet. It's very unpleasant. Secondly, there's still hair on the floor. So cleanliness is just average. Surprisingly, the bed and pillow is comfortable. We had good rest. The Aircond is cold too. Hot shower is okay. Need to know how to adjust. It gets too hot, then user has to keep adjusting it in one session. Well it's personal preference I guess. It's too hot for me. Maybe not for others. I'm sorry the photos are irrelevant. Captured during our drive from Sabah.

I enjoy the trip with my wife everything is fine and clean worth for money if you want to find a budget hotel to stay I recommend this place

The place is very strategic in the town area. You can just walk to Oriental Cafe to eat and to the other cafe will take about 10-20 mins walk. The night view from the room is pretty too. Will come back soon.
