I love everything about this hotel. I actually booked it at the very last minute as I had to cancelled the other hotel due to incorrect date. Room was so spacious, very clean, and the breakfast spread was not bad too. If you are vegetarian, you may ask them to make new ones if they have it. Pool was really great, staff was extremely helpful & friendly. Do not worry if the location is just a bit out of the centre, they have free shuttle services & pick up too. The spa massage was amazing too. And i love that they also provide free shuttle to train station or airport if you stay 2 nights. Do not hesitate to book this hotel!

I found this gem of a hotel in Luang Prabang, and it was a truly amazing experience! The **Ya Hotel was definitely the biggest surprise of my several-day trip to Luang Prabang! From the moment I landed, I felt the warmth and convenience far exceeded my expectations. The hotel owner is a super nice, handsome Chinese man. A graduate of the National University of Laos, he's not only fluent in Lao but also deeply knowledgeable about local culture and customs. Before we left, we learned that we needed to prepare sticky rice for the morning alms offering. The owner thoughtfully pointed out the best street corner to view it from, and even emphasized the importance of maintaining silence and avoiding casual photography. Every day before heading out, he offered advice on food, drinks, and entertainment, and he always offered expert recommendations—from Laotian hot pot stalls hidden in alleys to authentic French bread at the night market. He even shared his bargaining tips, making it feel like I had a ”walking guide.” The hotel's location is impeccable! Located in the heart of the city, it's a 5-minute walk to the main route for the morning alms offering, allowing you to immerse yourself in this millennium-old Buddhist tradition without having to get up early and rush. Breakfast is particularly plentiful. A three-minute walk takes you to a restaurant on the main road. The aroma wafts from the open kitchen, nestled among bamboo trees. The owner highly recommends the basil, onion, and ground pork with sticky rice, served on a bamboo plate. The meaty aroma, combined with the aroma of the herbs, is incredibly appetizing. For just 15 yuan per person, you'll be completely satisfied. For a French-inspired experience, the corner bakery's freshly baked croissants paired with Laotian black coffee are a local favorite. I was lucky enough to run into a few fellow Tianjin residents who were craving steamed buns and fried dough sticks. The owner arranged everything with just a phone call—really nice! The hotel's location was a must-do for the evening: a 10-minute walk to the Mekong River. Stroll along the banks, watching the silhouettes of fishermen casting their nets fade into the sunset. Then, head to Mount Phousi, a 10-minute walk to its base. Our host had warned us that sunset over Mount Phousi is a must-experience in Luang Prabang. Climbing the cobblestone path, we'd encounter local couples clutching bouquets and tourists clutching cameras. The breeze carried the scent of incense from the mountain temples. We reached the summit just as the sun was setting, and the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers merged below us. The city's old French-style buildings and golden temple domes were bathed in a warm orange. Only when the last rays of light faded and the lanterns below gradually lit up did we reluctantly make our way back. The French Street Night Market is easily accessible from the hotel. Every day after 6 PM, the lanterns on the pedestrian street light up, and strolling there from the hotel is just in time for the night market's peak activity, allowing us to return to our rooms whenever we feel tired. The hotel's newly renovated rooms are bright and comfortable, with a fresh French-Lao design and thoughtful details. During the day, I beat the heat in the pool, the fragrance of frangipani flowers from the garden drifting onto the balcony. In the evening, after watching the sunset from Mount Phousi, I sat on the terrace, sipping a Laotian beer and quietly daydreaming, perfectly recreating the languid rhythm of Luang Prabang. Whether it was a morning shower after watching the alms offerings or a soak after a tiring night market stroll, it was an instant revitalizer. During my few days here, I truly experienced what it means to ”make a foreign country feel ordinary.” The owner, in fluent Lao, helped us with the car rental issue and chatted with my parents in Chinese about itineraries. This sense of trust, transcending language, was incredibly reassuring. If you want to fully experience Luang Prabang—watching monks walk barefoot through the ancient streets in the morning light, watching the sunset over Mount Phousi at dusk, and browsing for handicrafts at the night market—the **A Hotel is a surefire choice. It's an exceptionally cost-effective gem!

The courtyard was beautiful, and the water lilies blooming in the pond were a delight to behold. Sitting on the room's terrace in the evening, the sounds of fish blowing bubbles and the chorus of insects swept away the fatigue of travel. One night, I was lucky enough to experience a downpour, and the water lilies in the rain were outlined in gold by the lights. The hotel's design was distinctly French, and the facilities were new; I loved it!

What a find! Away from the main street although easily walkable to the night market and bars and restaurants. Carefully prepared breakfasts which we both enjoyed. Rooms are large and individually decorated, cleaned daily. Really loved the beautiful decor. Service was excellent. Any query was answered fully and suggestions for activities and restaurants given if and when required. There was a lovely pool area with beds and chairs too. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this boutique hotel for families or couples.

There weren't many Chinese people in the hotel. I didn't see any other Chinese people during my two nights there. There was only one review from a Chinese person, and it was a negative one. The location is average, to be honest. However, the hotel provides free shuttle service. There was no hot water on the first night, so I texted Line and they moved me. The next day, they even apologized and treated me to dinner.

This is a budget guesthouse. I initially stayed for one night and then extended for another. It's incredibly well-located, within a 10-minute walk to the Night Market, the main tourist street, and the Royal Palace Museum. The Mekong River is even closer, practically at your doorstep. Being right by the main road, it's very convenient for shared taxis or private cars to pick you up and drop you off directly, which was a huge plus for our excursions! Both the owner and staff speak Chinese and are proactive, willing, and enthusiastic in their service. While the facilities are a bit dated, they are perfectly functional. A notable highlight is the Gree air conditioner in the room, which is very new and works exceptionally well – a feature many other hotels can't match. All the clothes I washed last night were completely dry by morning, making packing and checking out very convenient. However, guests with very high expectations for accommodation standards might find the comfort level doesn't quite meet their expectations.

NNuytsiaFloribundaOur stay had a lot of high points and a lot of low points. Starting with the high points, the grounds and room were incredible. Our experience at the spa was one of the best we’ve had. The cocktails and Laos-style burger we had for lunch one day were phenomenal. The staff were charming and very accommodating. However, there were a few aspects that were far below the experience expected of a 5 star hotel. First, cocktail service around the pool was abysmal. On almost every occasion we had to go searching for a staff member to take our order, and then the cocktails more often than not took more than half an hour to arrive. This is despite the fact that we seemed to be the only people ordering F&B at that time, i.e. they were not busy at all. Second, the breakfast was a disappointment every day - we were told we could order eggs or noodles, and had to repeatedly press the staff to find out what type of eggs and noodles, and we only discovered on the last day that there was a menu with additional options. We ordered poached eggs on toast, and the eggs had not been drained of excess liquid, and the bread was entirely soaked through. An order of waffles took over an hour to come out - first it was delivered as a pancakes, and then they just forgot about it despite repeated follow ups. The “local” Laos options lacked flavor - very little of the herbs and spice that makes Laos food great. I think this and the pool service issue are primarily the result of a lack of training and instruction for staff - they were clearly doing their best, but did not know what to do. Third, the pool area needs a lot more spent on maintenance. The decking is cracking and falling apart. The mosaic tiles in the pool are falling apart, A LOT of the tiles are missing, and I got a very large laceration on my forearm from the sharp edge of a tile sticking out. If this pool were in a western jurisdiction, it would not meet health and safety standards. Fourth, the gym was not worth visiting if you want to lift weights. Possibly the worst weights offering I’ve seen for a hotel of that price and with that much space. We want to reiterate how great and enthusiastic the staff were. I think this is primarily a management oversight, training, and maintenance capex issue.

GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. Everytime I asked them something, they were more than willing to help in anyway they could. The room was lovely and very reasonably priced. The only very minor downside was that breakfast was a little bit limited for someone with quite a lot of food allergies, but the staff could make adaptions to the menu to try and cater for these. Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in Luang Prabang.

JJason2023Nice setting with lotus ponds and bridge, lots of trees, flowers, gravel winding paths and hidden seating areas. The pool is small but had lots of available comfy seating and was very clean. Breakfast is in a beautiful setting and the service and food were excellent. The menu has lots of options. Excellent service from reception to housekeeping - the complimentary water, fruit baskets and night time cookies were appreciated. Free bicycle hire and reception can organise trips. The location is okay, a 5-10 minute walk to the main area but that gives you an experience of local life as you pass through the narrow streets. There was some road noise - motorbikes etc but im not sure where you can avoid this in Luang Prabang or even SE Asia. If you are bothered by it, ear plugs will be useful. No noise from any neighbours. The room was a good size with a big balcony overlooking the gardens. Lots of stuff provided e.g toiletries, safe, tea, 3 in 1 coffee - you don't need to bring. (Cant remember seeing a razor but tbh hotel ones are never good so i bring my own). TIP: try not to rely on ATMs here, the charges are expensive. Either bring your own currency and exchange at one of the banks here (i got a good rate) or bring Kip. Many places also accept Thai baht and some US $. The hotel has water so being mosquito spray (housekeeping also offered this).

JJhooo_The hotel is great! The staff were kind and helpful. The location was superb! We loved that we can just walk from there to everywhere in luang. Breakfast was ok tho, its not in the main hotel and you have to walk around and eat beside mekong river which was a good thing by the way, but the food were all the same. Other than that everything was great!

AarqueteeWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel—perfect for families looking for comfort and convenience. The garden is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained—our kids loved running around while we relaxed in the serene atmosphere. The location is great, just a few minutes from the town center, making it easy to explore local shops, markets, and restaurants. Despite being close to everything, the hotel still feels quiet and relaxing. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and very comfortable—clearly well taken care of. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and cleanliness. The staff are amazing—warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. They made our stay even more memorable by going above and beyond for our family. And the breakfast? Simply superb! A great variety of local and international options, fresh fruits, and delicious coffee or tea’s to start the day right. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a cozy, garden-side stay near town!

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is very popular on the internet. It's newly renovated. It doesn't have many rooms, but it's quiet. It's a 10-minute walk to the night market. The hotel provides free bicycles, and breakfast is delivered to your room. There are several different room types. The most expensive villa with a balcony and bathtub is around NT$580 per night, while standard rooms are just over NT$200 per night. It's perfect for a vacation. The only downside is that the shower head in the bathroom is broken and keeps falling off. I changed room types and it still didn't work.

BBandongzki Travels🇱🇦Downtown Hostel in Luang Prabang Laos This place is really good for solo traveller or a backpackers. They have 1 room with 2 beds ( Superior Twin Room ) and it cost around $22 and Dormitory Type -8 /6 /4 Mixed and it cost around $6 per night. I booked my room in Trip.Com with 1 room Superior Twin Room. This is 22 sqm room, beds are comfortable. Plugged outlet beside the beds . It has working table and a chair. Metal rack to hang the clothes. Wifi and a router available in the room , internet was not the best but as traveler must have your own internet data. The area closed to Mekong river side - near to cafe and restaurants. Breakfast included so must choose to their menu. It is nearby the temple for tak bat/ alms giving and also the night market. The lady receptionist is very accommodating and good customer service. GGuest UserWe loved Ock Pop Top. All of the staff were so friendly and made us very welcome. Especially Mr Duan who helped us arrange a slow boat and Mr Noi and Mr Air who gave my partner lots of tips for local fishing. We only stayed 1 night but we will be coming back for sure. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. You can learn a lot about Hmong crafts which is very interesting. The food and drink is delicious, I recommend the tamarind margaritas! The rooms are beautiful and full of eco friendly amenities like mosquito spray, shampoo, soap etc and locally crafted decor. The balcony rooms facing the Mekong are amazing. The location is out of the town centre but they offer a free shuttle service via tuk tuk, you may have to wait a while but you can relax in the bar while you wait. The sunset from the restaurant is amazing but be aware that between 5:30-6:30 the mosquitoes come out in full force! Cover up or bring the spray from your room and keep topping up.

WWeaver328442Although this hotel is not located in the town of Luang Prabang, it takes 20 minutes by tuk-tuk (the road is not very good), this should be the most special hotel in the world. I especially experienced the tent room, and it was definitely a unique experience to fall asleep every day listening to the sound of the river. The food in the hotel comes from its own organic farm, and there are many projects to experience. This is definitely a good place to escape from the world. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the center of Luang Prabang.
