The best hotel in Cork, but unfortunately it is a bit far from the city center, more than 3 kilometers to the train station, and it is not very convenient to take the bus. The room area is not very large, and the room facilities are quite complete. The hotel service is very good, and it can respond quickly. When checking out, they also extended the room. The hotel breakfast is in the form of ordering and buffet, but the variety of buffet is very limited, but the taste of the order is very good.
Hotel in a very beautiful place, spacious rooms, excellent kitchen in all restaurants. Even Michlenov restaurant with 2* stars.
There is a good swimming pool with spa.
Unfortunately, I put 3* for the service, TK when checking in the hotel do not warn that in the spa it is necessary to be in a rubber hat. The shower hat was rejected and we had to leave the pool.
I consider it appropriate to either warn when booking the need for a pool hat (no hotel in the last 10 years is about sitting such), or to give them to guests as a mandatory attribute of use, not to sell. The blonde girl on the pool recession was irritated on, it spoiled the impression of stay. Otherwise, a great hotel.
Great location to visit the wildlife park but it’s not walkable. Room was lovely. It had everything we needed. Peaceful nights sleep too. You have to pre book the leisure club and children are only allowed at certain times meaning we missed out in the morning as my 13yr old wasn’t allowed in until 9am but we had to leave then.
Breakfast: Choice of food was amazing. Absolutely everything on offer. We were a bit rushed because we had the titanic experience booked so had to be punctual. We had to chase up the toast 3 times. It was the only thing my son would eat so couldn’t let it slide. Then it arrived stone cold so they apologised and redid it for him.
Overall it was a lovely hotel and included some nice touches like Lily O”Brien chocolates in the room, a coffee maker and free bottle of wine for Deluxe rooms. Turn down service was a welcome surprise too.
Adorned with wisteria, Ballymaloe House Hotel sits within 300 acres of the unspoilt Irish countryside. Only 4km from the iconic Ballymaloe Cookery School makes it the perfect getaway for fine dining fanatics, lovers of vast open spaces and those looking to step away from cosmopolitan city life. The unrivalled location sets the scene for tranquillity which washes over every space. Calming tones lead you to your bedroom, each overspilling with unique elegant character. At mealtimes, visit the renowned restaurant, heralded as the birthplace of modern Irish cuisine. Each day, food inspired by the seasonal produce makes its way from the farm to your fork. Between meals, take a dip in the pool, borrow the hotel bicycles, or challenge your family to a game of croquet. Afterwards, browse designer Irish gifts at the shop, pick up an indulgent homemade cake at the cafe or take a trip down to the wine cellar and taste sommelier selected tipples. A short journey away is Cork city, where you can learn a little history, and tour the City Gaol or Elizabeth fort before visiting the English Market for some more local food and drink. Closer to home, the Midleton Distillery Experience offers a comprehensive tour and tasting at the home of Jameson Whiskey. Ballymaloe House Hotel is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.
